«The experience my brother and myself had at Hakuba UNNTYOU was exceptional . Highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in very close walking distance to Goryu ski resort.
The twin room despite being basic was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast included was a lovely mix of Chinese cuisine which provided all the energy needed for a full day up on the mountain. Additionally they provided very cheap options for cold/hot beverages aswell as snacks which we loved after coming back from a full day of activities .
The hotel has its own onsen style bath which was great to unwind in , adding the the authentic Japanese experience.
The staff at this hotel despite not speaking very much English provided excellent service to us and always went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and much more .
The kindness from the staff aswell as the abundance of available facilities made this an excellent experience for us both . Highly recommend this hotel to any travellers wanting an authentic Japanese experience within a very westernised ski»

CChloe Lim SanThe heart warming and hospitality of this family is one of my best experiences in Japan.
It was my first time traveling to Hakuba and it was snowing heavily. Masanori san was busy with dinner but he had his daughter to pick me up instead (she have left for university so I reckon on normal days, he will have to go out of his way to pick passengers if they needed.) One key thing to note was to specify where you are properly because i took a bus and they didn’t stop me at the interchange but instead they dropped me off at the Hakuba stop (outside North Face shop) so it was quite confusing and they couldn’t find me at first.
The room is very spacious and the morning snowing view was really nice. The free Hakuba shuttle bus is just one minute away and it comes every hour, you can have breakfast at 7/7.30am and take the shuttle bus at 8/9am (might not come on time but just be earlier as there are many others taking the same bus). In house Onsen was decent with hot enough water but will be perfect if only it was outdoors (more for the ventilation and view).
The dinner made by Masamori san was one of the main reasons why I booked this hotel - French cuisine. It is delicately made and ingredients are carefully sourced, you can literally taste the freshness of their ingredients. Book at least one day in advanced!
At 84, their granny got to be the cutest and sweetest, we sang that one or two Japanese song she knew and she was so happy she served us tea, we kind of almost feel bad that she is serving us but after speaking to her daughter knowing that it is working there that keeps her body strong and makes her happy (so during Covid, she was feeling weak).
And also they link up with Lion Gear for all rental of everything you need. You just have to let Masamori san know and he will arrange for them to pick you up at your preferred time. After choosing your gears, he said they will send me to the slopes (went Goryu/Hakuba 47), but they didn’t and instead they sent me to Happo and I had to bring my gears and walked 20-30mins to the bus stops and paid for the V2 buses (the larger buses are not free - so you got to pay 800Yen per person). After I told Masamori san the story, he was really apologetic and immediately called them up. The next day, he got them to compensate me for the trouble and it really did helped ease the not so great experience and time wasting - the Lion gear boss was generous in compensating and explained that it was their new staff and they didn’t follow the previous arrangements.
Supermarket is about 15-20mins walk away, can be pretty cold but the walk is really nice, proper walking path with snow built up like walls.
All in all, I will still rate this place 9/10 for the hospitality and sincerity of this family, the food and the spaciousness of the room! Highly recommend you to go for the French dinner!

UUsuario invitadoThe hotel has a great atmosphere. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus that took us to Happo Bus Terminal. The food is absolutely delicious, with breakfast served in a buffet style featuring Nagano specialties, and dinner presented as a Japanese-French set menu. The onsen is excellent, and the rooms are spacious and clean. We also love locker area for keeping ski stuff and there also provide dressing area near by.

FFrequent Flyer FyA wonderful stay here. Refreshed and modern. We had the family room with two futons which was pretty spacious. The only downside was that the basin was located inside the bathroom, making it inconvenient for others to use it. The location was brilliant as it was only walking distance to Echoland with plenty of dining options. The breakfast buffet had a pretty good range though if some of the dishes could be different each day that would be even better. One thing to note that is that the car park is unsheltered. We stayed for the ski season in January and on one night there was heavy snow, so the next morning we had to spend some time shovelling the snow around our car before we could drive it out. I suspect this is pretty typical in Hakuba though. Overall we were very satisfied and would highly recommend this for a family ski trip.

UUsuario anónimoEl precio es precioso en la temporada de nieve. La cama grande es 5000+, la cama de Gaza es más de 300. Este hotel marca cuatro estrellas, pero la búsqueda de Google marca Samsung. No es el pueblo japonés, el entorno sanitario es muy general, el gran campo está en el suelo, hay cabello flotante en el jardín, los pantalones están en todas partes. La dirección de la habitación es usada, pero la aspiración no es completa, la alergia al polvo todavía tiene que llevar una boca, abrir el limpiador para ser cómoda. El desayuno es europeo, no hay sopa japonesa, como por ejemplo, la comida fría es principalmente. Había querido usar la máquina de secar, y cuando se llenó de la caja, la máquina de secar estaba llena de pelo negro. El día de recepción también prometió 15 minutos, y el resultado fue 30 minutos, y volvió a llamar, hay algo más que se ha retrasado en el camino. No se recomienda, si quieres venir a caballo blanco para recomendar otros hoteles.

UUsuario invitadoとても快適な滞在でした。特に、清潔な部屋、スタッフの方の絶妙な距離感、ブッフェの朝食がよく、1泊でしたが、白馬での色々な体験と相まって大変楽しめました。ただ一点、ツインの部屋でしたが、シャワーの水が洗面スペースの床を派手に濡らしてしまうのは残念でした。次に行く機会があれば、夕食も頂いてみたいです。

We had an excellent experience at Garden Pension Obogurgl. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Hakuba Goryu lifts, which made getting on the mountain super easy every day. The pension itself is cozy, clean, and peaceful, with a lovely garden that adds to the charm.
Our room was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for ski gear, and the communal areas had a relaxed, homely vibe. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with local tips and transport advice.
We especially enjoyed being able to walk everywhere—whether it was to the nearby convenience stores, local restaurants, or just strolling among the beautiful pine trees. The large cherry blossom tree out the front added a special touch to the peaceful surroundings. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and welcoming place to stay in Hakuba Goryu, Garden Pension Obogurgl is a fantastic choice.

MMeowVanWhat an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!
