UUsuario invitadoWarm, friendly staff who gave good and practical advice about the protests and safety, much appreciated . Housekeeping was impeccable and thoughtful and really prompt with adhoc requests.
Rooms are large (size norms from a different time) and the mix of analog vintage features and updated features is charming. Clear and strong WIFI , clean rooms especially for tropical setting
The buffet spread is excellent quality, clean and a good mix of delicious local and international continental options.
The spa is lovely, though service can vary - I had a lovely therapist and my friend’s therapist was using her phone during the session (which is not acceptable at any massage place, what more at this spot) incongruous with the very high service and hospitality standards set by the rest of the staff.
Would come back and stay here again!

KkenskiEstaba en Kampi para un alojamiento durante las vacaciones de Navidad. cerca de TP y Tunjungan Street (pode caminar, a pocos pasos 5-10mins). En el hotel, el hotel se encuentra en una zona de 3 estrellas, donde se encuentran los alrededores de la ciudad. Prime video, etc. definitivamente estará aquí para otra breve vacaciones.

UUsuario invitadoI had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel, and most of that is thanks to the incredible service from the staff. Before my arrival, I had made a few special requests, particularly because I was traveling with my mom, who has difficulty walking. The hotel was incredibly accommodating and helpful every step of the way.
They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, they even arranged transportation for my mom to the spa and helped us with other needs. I am so grateful and thankful for their kindness and attention to detail.
The room itself was spacious, and the hotel is just beautiful. The location is also great, which made everything even more perfect.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for exceptional hospitality!

SSharon PSVarna Culture Hotel is located at strategic location closer to Tunjungan Plaza and many local eateries around. But I was given a room at smoking floor although when I booked I already requested for nonsmoking room. We have to inhale lots of 2nd hand smoke which was quite bad for our throat and causing us hard to breathe. The bathroom had given us lots of problems, after we took a shower, we realised the water cannot flow into the drainage hole and stayed floating next to the toilet bowl. The whole floor flooded as the floor design was a problem. When we complained to front desk staff, they already knew the problem but they cannot do anything. They only offered the housekeeper to mop away the water. Which the floor still wet. The water pressure is too low while we on the shower. The shower head positioned wrongly on wall and not flexible which caused the shower water to shoot directly to the opposite wall instead of to our body or face. It wet the whole towel rack and the toilet bowl behind us. Hence, we have to hold the shower head most of the time to ensure we can clean our body thoroughly. Breakfast served was average. The juices were quite plain and no fruit flavour. The overall food served was OK. No minibar in the hotel. We have to buy ice cube 5,000rp for a cup of 4pcs ice cudes.

SSjarilWelcome drink needs to be improved. I found the soap in the swimming area empty. I enjoyed using the swimming pool.
Need to improve the food for breakfast. No need a lot, but focus on taste.in the pastries area, provide croissant good choice. Maybe someday , you can provide cuppucino or hot latte,
free of charge. Provide space for children play is very helpful. Thanks for provided grab, I got discount for rp. 8.000.

(+) Located in the city center, convenient access to many tourist spots in Surabaya. There's Indomaret next to the hotel, which makes it convenient too. Wisata Rasa, a recommend place to buy edible souvenirs (like almond crispy), is also nearby.
(-) I expected very walkable distance to Tunjungan Romansa, but it is apparently further away than expected. Still walkable but will take quite some time, and only walkable at night. Walking in the day is not very feasible due to Surabaya hot weather.
🏠 Room Facilities
(+) TV, desk, 3 electrical outlets, wardrobe with hangers, storage cabinet, safety box, air dryer in the bathroom, and electric kettle are available. Water gallon for refills is available outside the room.
(-) The lights in the room are dim, which makes the room unsuitable for work. Toilet issue is of low quality. No fridge. Cuttlery are provided with charge.
🏨 Hotel Facilities
(+) Great breakfast with various options, including local delicacies like lontong balap. There are board games, mini pool table, and foosball. PCs are available in the lobby, not sure if it works though. Can store luggage in the receptionist after check out. Toilets are available in the lobby.
(-) The hotel only gives 1 access card per room, even if I book a room for 2 people. Was excited to see congklak game but apparently the seeds weren't enough.

(+) Friendly staffs. Could ask for extra towel. Could request for specific housekeeping cleaning time.
