We have already stayed two nights and still have one night to go. Just wanted to post what a great experience we have had so far. Rui - bellhop - was so friendly and helpful. We were short a bathrobe and returned with a extra one in less than 2 minutes. He let us know several times if we needed anything to let him know or the front desk. Vicky who works outside the M Club was very helpful in giving suggestions for restaurants and had a detailed map to give us. Marriott should be very proud to have such outstanding staff. As for the hotel, it’s a great location to walk to the sites. Our room was spotless. We had access to M Club. I wasn’t expecting for both breakfast and evening snacks to have such a wide selection. M Club staff was good about keeping up the pace of replenishing food and clearing tables. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Amsterdam.

Second stay at this hotel, this time 4 nights on holiday. The hotel is located at a commercial, but pleasant area, with good public transportation options. We preferred it to the chaos of central Amsterdam, including a fair share of dubious characters we saw there on sightseeing. We were welcomed in a courteous and pleasant manner (thank you Tim for this, and for good tips regarding transportation)., and service was good throughout our stay. The common areas and the room were pleasant and clean. The bed was good, the bathroom large and well-maintained. Breakfast was a continental fare with no extras, but good quality ingredients, both beverages and food. Few comments regarding things we liked less: 1. Water pressure in our room (highest floor, # 11) was too weak for an adequate shower. Uncertain how it is on lower floors, but this was frustrating. 2. Room service needs improvement. We ordered burgers, to be prepared medium, and received charred, over-well-done meat, with charred buns too. 3. We were happy to learn there was jazz music in the bar on Thursday. Alas, these were two fairly quiet guitars, drowned in a sea of yelling and laughing guests, People's behavior is by no means something the hotel can or should control. Nevertheless, should the music be audible, it may be better to bring a singer with a piano and a set of drums. Overall a pleasant stay at a good hotel.

We checked into this hotel for 6 nights, however, after 3 nights we decided we’d rather spend our last night at a hotel with superior service, hospitality and accommodations. We advised a member of the front desk staff 48 hours in advance that we wanted to check out 1 day early and he indicated that it would not be a problem. However, the following day we were told that once you check in you can not check out early or modify your stay in any way. We spoke with the middle management who were completely inflexible parroted the same lines over and over. It didn’t even mater that I’m a Titanium Elite member (meaning I spend more than 75 nights per year at Marriott properties around the world), because this particular hotel doesn’t value loyalty. In fact, this hotel is unlike any other Marriott I’ve stayed at, and quite frankly, they don’t deserve to be considered a Marriott property. The hotel is run down, has no amenities, charges 20 euros per day to use their old bikes, no bellman to help with luggage, and is NOT worth the €350.00 - €550.00 they charge per night! So, as it stands we’re paying for our room at the Apollo but we’ve checked in to a much better hotel and the difference is striking!

I would avoid this hotel if you’re looking for an authentic Amsterdam experience. Check in is at 3pm. Rather late…. And our room was finally ready at 4.15…. The check in was not a great experience. We were “sold” a much bigger room with a bath tub which is apparently an upgrade from our “deluxe” room. We agreed, checked out the “upgraded” room and walked straight back to reception. Do not bother with that “upgrade” and the staff made it seem that you’re getting such a good deal and that we shouldn’t tell the others a reception what great deal the receptionist was giving us. So we were sticking to our deluxe room…. Which wasn’t deluxe. It was still rather basic for this price, small, dated decor with no space to store any luggage. We decided to stick around…. Rather than leaving and find another hotel. Being on the first floor meant we heard thumping loud music from the restaurant below at around midnight. Nothing that some earplugs won’t fix. I’d rather stay right at a canal…. This didn’t seem like Amsterdam whatsoever. On check out the bill was much higher than we had quoted for. Looking at the bill now, we noticed that our room included breakfast…. Yet we still paid again as apparently it wasn’t. So, I am leaving this weekend trip rather frustrated. If you don’t want to have the same experience, look for another hotel closer to the centre. Would give it one star…. But I’m a nice person. So two stars is a gesture of good will.

This is a fantastic hotel. My sister & I stayed for 3 nights and loved it. It’s located in a beautiful and very safe part of the city, very close to the concert hall & the museums. The beds are so comfortable and they refill the water in your room every day. It’s a very easy journey into the city centre on the 12 or 2 tram. There are lots of great places to eat within minutes walk from the hotel and the lovely lady gave us a list of nearby restaurants on our arrival. The hotel is very quiet, we didn’t hear any noise any of the nights. There is a lovely sitting room with an honesty bar that has a good selection of drinks. It was lovely to sit off here and relax either before or after dinner. Great shower in the bathroom too. Staff were so friendly & accommodating, they even got a hot water bottle for me one of the nights when I wasn’t feeling well. Will definitely be back, loved it.

Estuvimos en la habitación para 2, es algo pequeña pero ideal para ir de turismo, ya que el hotel al fin y al cabo es para dormir. Lo mejor de todo que al final de la calle estaba la estación de metro Pijp que conecta con el centro. Además hay supermercados cerca. Zona muy tranquila. Y el hotel es muy curioso en cuanto a su decoración.
