This hotel combines the convenience of modern high tech with the spiritual beauty of traditional culture. The rooms themselves are constructed around courtyards that give a sense of what life might have been like in Datong many centuries ago. In the lobby and in the rooms, murals decorate the walls with elegant designs of birds or flowers. The cabinets, bench, and floors made of wood and the countertops made of marble work together well and draw on design choices that are classicly, universally appealing. At the same time, the entire room is wired with the amenties of modernity. The toilet has a seat warmer and a light that turns on when you lift the lid so that you can find it in the middle of the night. Similarly, there seem to be motion-sensitive lights throughout the room that light up when you walk in the middle of the night so that you can find your way around. The water in the shower and the bathtub is able to get very hot (which I love!) and has high pressure. There is also a top-of-the-line hair dryer. It's the perfect blend of high tech and traditional amenities! If I have one complaint it's that the room was so hot that I had to open my window to let in the freezing air, and still the room was hot! That shows how effective the heating system is! The serivce at the hotel is also extraordinary! All the members of hotel reception are very friendly. And they send someone to your room shortly after you settle in to give you a platter of fruit, which was fresh and seasonal and artistically chosen it seems. They also have 24 hours service in case you need anything. My friend went into the lobby early in the morning shouting about coffee, and the staff came out quickly to make him a cup. The hotel is also very clean. The blankets, the pillows, and the sheets are as white as snow. The floors are free of dust and dirt and smudges. Everything in the shower and toilet room was scrubbed clean too. And the shower drains smoothly without pooling any water, showing how well it is maintained. Finally, the location is very convenient. You can see that for yourself by just looking at the map. But I would like to add that just outside the gate of the hotel, you can see the Prince's palace, which is beautifully lit at night. What's more, my favorite restaurant in downtown Datong (I think the restaurant is translated as BeiWei Family Garden or something like that) is less than 5 minutes walking from the gate. There are also multiple shops for buying vinegar or wine or shaji snacks. In less than 10 minutes, you can also walk to all the major commercial streets. I love the location of this hotel!

El patio, con su encanto antiguo, está en una zona tranquila dentro de la ciudad vieja, muy cerca de la animada calle peatonal. El dueño es muy honesto y el servicio es excelente. Incluso nos organizaron un coche para recogernos y llevarnos a la estación de tren de alta velocidad, fue una experiencia de estancia fantástica. La próxima vez que venga, me alojaré aquí de nuevo y lo recomendaré a mis amigos.

La casa de huéspedes estaba ubicada cerca de la Puerta Norte de la ciudad antigua, lo que la hizo fácil de encontrar. Al llegar el primer día, la recepcionista nos recibió personalmente, haciéndonos sentir como en casa. Nos acompañó hasta la casa y nos dio un mapa escrito a mano con información detallada sobre restaurantes y atracciones cercanas. La señora que preparó el desayuno también era increíblemente hábil; todavía recuerdo los fideos hechos a mano, mucho mejores que los de los restaurantes Lao Chai. Como era tan difícil conseguir reservas en Fenglinge y Longjuxiang, la recepcionista me dijo que Longjuxiang ofrecía servicio a domicilio, así que pedimos y comimos allí, ¡sin arrepentimientos!

Si llega tarde en primavera, es recomendable reservar el hotel con antelación para asegurar una plaza de aparcamiento. De hecho, el hotel está un poco lejos del casco antiguo. Aquí puede disfrutar de la comida para llevar de varios restaurantes antiguos, cenando directamente en la primera planta del hotel. Location: near LinFenXi High Speed Rail Station 临汾西站(10mins drive/ 20mins by local public transport to LuoGuQiaoTou 锣鼓桥头站). Best is that they provide pick-up and drop-off at HSR station, just make a call 3 hours in advance. I dont have local number, so I email them in advance before my trip, they replied my email and provide me their WeChat number so I can make reservation for the pick-up service at the station. Many local tours have pick-up and drop-off service near the hotel (junction outside the hotel), easy and convenient. Services: warm and welcoming services. Tea and drinks in the lobby, luggage storage as well. Room: clean big room, big screen TV, mini bar fridge, bathrobe and comfy king bed. Lavender shower shampoo, hand soap and body lotion, make me feel so so much relax. Laundry: laundry machine are free of charge (washer and dryer). Laundry room provide ironing equipment, books, drink as well. Definitely not get bored. Otherwise, can use phone connect their website to make a reminder while the laundry have done (so convenient). Gym Room: just opposite and same level of laundry room. Treadmill are so new. Breakfast: varieties of choice. Before that I already crave for coffee since it is not so common to find espresso in the local breakfast restaurant. Salad bar, local meatball soup, noodles, dumplings, wantons, boiled egg, fried egg, fried tomato with egg and local cooked food. So many choice and so satisfying. However they dont have egg omelette, it is fine for me. I found that even though not staying at LinFen city centre, it is still fine to stay here as the traffic here is convenient. And here is more quiet and more relax👍 The only thing I dont like is, some customer smoking in the lift and hotel lobby (even though there is a sign in the lift to advice not to smoke), definitely affecting those unlike smoking smell and sick of cigarette smell like me.

Anche la cena ci è piaciuta molto: piatti della tradizione locale, ben cucinati e serviti con cura. La colazione, servita à la carte, è stata altrettanto piacevole. Gli spazi comuni, come il cortile interno e il ristorante, contribuiscono a creare un’atmosfera di quiete e bellezza che riflette perfettamente la magia di Pingyao. Consiglio senza esitazioni questo albergo a chi cerca autenticità, comfort e un’accoglienza impeccabile. Our family stay at Jing’s Residence was truly unforgettable. I’m very happy with the choice I made: the hotel is a beautifully restored historic residence where you can feel a genuine and discreet elegance. Every architectural detail is tastefully preserved, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the very beginning. The staff were always kind and attentive, and — something far from common in China, even in luxury hotels — everyone spoke excellent English. We truly felt pampered, with countless thoughtful touches and lovely little gifts that made us feel sincerely cared for. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and elegantly furnished in harmony with the historic setting. We also really enjoyed dinner: traditional local dishes, well-prepared and beautifully served. Breakfast, served à la carte, was equally enjoyable. The shared spaces — especially the inner courtyard and the restaurant — create a sense of calm and charm that perfectly mirrors the magic of Pingyao. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for authenticity, comfort, and outstanding hospitality.

Staying at Jiuhuli·Siheyuan Guesthouse (Ancient City Drum Tower Branch) 玖合里·四合院民宿（大同古城华严寺店） was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The location is absolutely unique — being inside the ancient city walls of Datong and staying in a traditional Chinese courtyard house made the entire experience feel authentic and unforgettable. It is much more than just a hotel; it is a cultural experience. The decoration and design are impeccable: elegant, refined, and beautifully done with incredible attention to detail. The rooms are extremely comfortable, with high-quality products, premium facilities, and a very peaceful atmosphere that made us feel at home immediately. What made our stay even more exceptional was the outstanding service. The staff went above and beyond in every possible way. They helped us arrange an excellent private driver at a very reasonable price, which allowed us to enjoy a perfectly smooth and efficient day visiting three major attractions outside the city: the Hanging Temple, the Yungang Grottoes, and the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. Everything was organized flawlessly, making the trip completely stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, the service was simply amazing from beginning to end. ¡Esta estancia fue una experiencia muy agradable! El hotel goza de una ubicación inmejorable, con fácil acceso al transporte y una amplia gama de opciones gastronómicas y de ocio en las inmediaciones. Las habitaciones eran amplias y luminosas, con una decoración moderna y minimalista, y la ropa de cama era cómoda y limpia. El miembro del personal, Yuanyuan, fue amable y atento, ofreciéndome un detalle de bienvenida al hacer el check-out y respondiendo atentamente a todas mis preguntas, haciéndome sentir como en casa. El desayuno fue variado y de alta calidad, satisfaciendo todos los gustos. Cabe destacar la excelente insonorización del hotel, que garantiza un sueño reparador y sin interrupciones. El hotel también cuenta con un gimnasio, perfecto para hacer ejercicio y relajarse. En general, este hotel sobresalió en todos los aspectos, y sin duda lo volvería a elegir en mi próximo viaje. Fue una estancia muy rentable y lo recomiendo encarecidamente a todo el mundo.

We booked at Fengqi jiuting hotel on a family trip to Taiyuan and it exceeded all our expectations. The location is super convenient, on the edge of the bustling Zhong Lou Jie area, with so many food and dining options accessible on foot. The rooms are spacious, with heated floors (a godsend in winter), and nice amenities. It’s a beautiful hotel decked out with contemporary art and was a pleasure to stay at. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made our trip that much easier. Would definitely recommend.
