UUsuario invitadoWe stayed at a hotel right next to Skógafoss, and you can drive directly into the Skógafoss parking lot, which makes access extremely convenient.
We had two rooms with views of the mountains and the waterfall, which was truly special. The rooms were a little on the smaller side, but they were very clean and the beds were comfortable.
A useful note: the cold water in the room is safe for drinking, while the hot water comes from natural hot springs (which may have a slight sulfur smell, as is common in Iceland).
Breakfast had a smaller selection, but the taste and quality were good. I would also recommend trying the hotel restaurant at least once during your stay—the food was quite enjoyable.
We were fortunate to catch the northern lights on both nights. On the first night, there was a strong, dancing aurora (around KP 6–7 / G3 storm) right outside the hotel in the parking area. On the second night (around KP 3), I woke up in the middle of the night and was still able to capture it on my phone despite some light pollution from the hotel.
One small thing to note is that the main entrance doors close after 11 PM, so we had to use the side entrance when returning late at night.
UUsuario invitadoWe have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip.
Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us.
The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!
UUsuario invitadoNot the best in all of my stays, the bathroom was super small, and not super clean.
The rest was ok. Breakfast was ok. The view was insane.
UUsuario invitadoThe sheet is not really cleaned. There are some hairs on the bed that is clearly not mine because they are not the same hair type nor the same hair color. The room als smells a bit weird. The room is not “ready” when we are there because one of the bed is missing a leg and we had to notify the desk about this issue. I don’t think this should happen to a hotel that cost almost 480 USD for two nights. Never the less, the location is great and 30 minute drive to Skatefall.
LLF ChongEasy to find. Nice room, shower area small. Room heater not working, they gave us portable heater. Also charged us the tax wrongly but rectified the next day.
DDeb93Estructura muy bonita, limpia, ordenada y hay todo lo necesario. ¡Dispone de cocina y dos baños. La estancia fue muy bonita, por suerte teníamos cerca de habitaciones super amigables 😊 extra recomendado!
OOlgaWe stayed in this cabin for a one night and were very impressed by how comfortable and well equipped it was. The kitchenette had a microwave and a kettle to prepare simple meals, and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The floor heating created a cozy atmosphere, especially in the mornings. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the sea, where the fresh air and views are breathtaking. One of the highlights was the many sheep grazing nearby, which gave the area a peaceful, countryside charm. It’s an ideal place to relax and recharge, highly recommended!
No WiFi in the cabin available but in the lounge in the building nearby
