Only complaint was the shower wasn't as powerful as we would of liked and the floorboards were very creaky so we could hear the people above at night and also when they ran their taps.

The hotel is within walking distance of the old town, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of Bath. The room is very spacious, comfortably accommodating one double bed and two single beds, with plenty of space still available to move around.
Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of buffet options, and guests can also order additional dishes to complement the buffet. Highly recommended.

Comfortable Stay and Great Location
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Taunton and had a very comfortable experience. The hotel is easy to access, just off the M5, which made it a convenient base for exploring Somerset or stopping over during a longer journey.
The room was clean and quiet, with everything I needed — a comfy bed, a good shower, and a desk area. Wi-Fi worked well, and I appreciated the tea/coffee station. While the decor is slightly dated in some areas, everything was well-maintained.
Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional from check-in to check-out. The breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold options, and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere in the evening too.

Es una buena opción para quedarse con amigos y la ubicación es buena. Puede ver la vista nocturna de Bath desde el alojamiento. Hay restaurantes en el alojamiento, por lo que es muy adecuado para salir con amigos.

5 minutos a pie del centro. Habitaciones limpias y espaciosas. Estaba en la habitación china justo frente a las escaleras en el primer piso. La habitación es grande y agradable, pero el ruido se oye afuera. No me importaba la vista del parque de estacionamiento, pero cuando vi el baño de ducha en el parque de estacionamiento, podía ver la silhueta. Estaba molesto de mover la habitación, así que pedí una toalla grande y cubierta la ventana. Esta parte parece que debe mejorarse. Y espero que no haya recibido 10 libras de estacionamiento ... en la temporada alta.

El desayuno es bueno con una variedad de opciones para combinar. Somos tres personas, elegimos una habitación familiar, una cama grande y una cama pequeña, que nos queda bien. El hotel está a la entrada del pueblo, el pueblo es muy tranquilo, hay un outlet a gran escala, puedes ir de compras si tienes tiempo.

No está mal, el ambiente es mejor, también es muy tranquilo, la ubicación está un poco desviada, mucho tiempo en la carretera de montaña, la sensación general es bastante buena, muy buena, con ganas de quedarme de nuevo.

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The location is excellent, just a 7-minute walk from the train station. The room was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable also the bathroom was excellent. The reception staff and the housekeeping staff were kind and friendly. Breakfast was good and met my expectations.
Overall, this hotel is very impressive and I highly recommend it.

UUsuario invitadoThe hotel had great location and tasty breakfast. The room was nice and good toilet. Great room service for bringing your delivered food to your room for you. However the staff needs to improve their communication skill and knowledge. I was told that I could buy breakfast prior to the day I want the breakfast and I didn’t have to book a time slot. However when I wanted to check out I was told that I was charged the price of the breakfast that is bought on the day, not the day prior. I later talked to the staff and they understood their staffs mistake. The hotel doesn’t have dinner service I was told.

LLiam and JennyAttended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful.
We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest.
The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss.
One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go.
Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109.

Despite a phone call reminder in the afternoon - before housekeeping closed for the day - the hotel failed to clean my room. We ended up spending the night with an uncleared rubbish bin. If not for the helpful staff, I would have given a one-star rating under the ”Service” category. I only wish the reception had done more in their service recovery efforts.

UUsuario invitadoIt was a very special reunion for a group of nurses celebrating 50 years since we started our course in May 1975. In those days this hotel was a nurse's home and we all lived here for around 18 months. We had booked lunch,the food was lovely and the service was amazing. We so enjoyed our stay, 5 of us stayed for one or two nights. So beautiful and peaceful, couldn't have been better. Benice organised things for us, highly recommend her if you are booking an event.

UUsuario invitadoWe booked 2 nights for a relaxing spa weekend. Based on it being a spa hotel. We planned on staying in the hotel for the whole weekend.
When we arrived we were told there was no restaurant or bar we can use as it’s only used for events.
We then had some lunch in the spa cafe. Food was ok. Service was terrible.
We then went to the room as we were able to check in. The cleaner was still there. Very apologetic extremely polite and lovely. The room was absolutely wonderful. Large bedroom bathroom and living room.
We went out and found a pub for food. When we returned to relax in the room we found the party was directly below us and in full swing. Very loud and noisy and the smoking area was right outside our window. We called reception but they were fully booked. Glad to say it all stopped at midnight.
We went down to breakfast at 9.30. Not much left and the full breakfast was cold. When we questioned it we were just told”well it has been there since 7” it had just sat on the side in silver trays for 2.5 hours, no heat or option to reheat. It wasn’t edible.
We skipped breakfast that we paid for on the second day.
We then thought we would spend some time in the spa. Ha! Well the pool is small, no where to relax just a couple of plastic chairs, not a spa at all. It had a very small sauna and steam room. The jacuzzi didn’t work it was just a pool of cloudy water with a few bubbles.
Would not recommend. Seems it used to be and could be a wonderful place to be but has been taken over and lost its sole. Such a shame as the building and grounds are wonderful.
I have to add the cleaning staff and lady on reception were wonderful, welcoming and friendly.
