The hotel all in all is very good. Clean, polite staff and location is perfect. Parking will have to be in the public parking around the corner which is about £20 for a day. Online it said the hotel offers halal food but once we got there they said they aren't sure they do it. The staff also informed us that we wouldn't be able to eat at the restaurant that day because they were booked for a function, but we feel this should've been communicated beforehand by email etc. Other than this I think this hotel is the best in the area and is very classy and welcoming.

Esta es mi primera reserva de hotel con Trip y debo decir que al principio tenía mis dudas sobre si se procesaría. Por suerte, el hotel recibió la confirmación. Solo tuve que decirle mi apellido a la recepcionista y pudieron localizarme en su sistema. Nos ofrecieron galletas de cortesía, que estaban riquísimas. La cama de la habitación doble era más pequeña de lo esperado, pero aun así era suficiente para dos adultos. Las habitaciones no están muy insonorizadas, así que se oyen los coches de la calle si te toca la que da a la ciudad. Pero si no eres muy sensible al ruido, es tolerable. El gimnasio, abierto las 24 horas, estaba bastante bien equipado para su capacidad. Tenían toallas, toallitas desinfectantes y dispensador de agua. El desayuno del hotel también estuvo muy bien. El restaurante tenía una buena vista. En general, ¡la estancia fue una ganga! Volvería a usar Trip.com.

Estoy muy decepcionada con su servicio en lo que respecta a la limpieza. Entiendo que estén muy ocupados en esta época del año, pero deberían ser consistentes con la limpieza. Siempre elijo HOLIDAY IN EXPRESS porque tuve una muy buena experiencia el año pasado (Año Nuevo) en la sucursal de Escocia y fue una experiencia increíble... así que pensé que sería lo mismo aquí en HI Express Bath... Viajamos en familia y mi hijo de 11 años es autista, tiene TDAH y TOC, además de alergias... este tipo de cama (sofá cama) es inaceptable para cualquiera que se aloje allí... nos dijeron que esperáramos hasta que ocupáramos nuestra habitación para que el sofá cama estuviera listo, pero aún así no nos proporcionaron sábanas para él... realmente devastador, muy triste y decepcionante...

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. Fácil de encontrar. Control fácil y suave en proceso. Qué decoración. Ascensor a todos los pisos. Grandes habitaciones. El hotel está situado en el centro de la ciudad. Secador de pelo y hierro disponible. Excelente vista a la ciudad. El desayuno es Fab. Aquí tienes un buen personal. La única queja fue que el duche no era tan poderoso como nos gustaría y las tablas eran muy turbias para que podamos oír a la gente arriba a la noche y también cuando corren sus tapices. 15 libras por noche para estacionar nuestro vehículo. Comprobar rápida y eficazmente. El personal es muy conocido y útil.

The hotel is an incredible building which must take some maintenance. We booked a double room for one night and arrived at lunchtime with the intention of sightseeing in bath for a couple of days. The hotel was happy for us to park all day both days which was great. The check in process (after 3pm) was very easy and we had a very clean room with plenty of towels, 2 robes and slippers for the spa/pool. The double room had a king size bed which was very comfortable. The hotel pool was crowded and looking a little tired but was as expected. The outside heated pool was very nice and relaxing. We didn’t have any spa treatments or use the gym but both looked well kept and the gym had good modern equipment. We didn’t eat in the restaurant preferring to find a restaurant in bath itself. Breakfast was a bit of a chaotic affair with several hotel staff doing various jobs with no apparent coordination. The wait for a table, then coffee was long and then we had to wait again to order breakfast. The whole process of breakfast took well over an hour which is poor. It was clear that there was no clear process as some tables were getting their cooked breakfast before us even though we were taken to our table 30 mins before them. The little waiter man with his paper pad was a bit useless. When the ‘full English’ breakfast came it was a small plate of well cooked food but not really as described in the menu. In terms of portion size it was more like a kids breakfast. We weren’t served any toast either and had to ask for it unlike other tables who received it with their drinks order which seemed a bit weird. The continental buffet was a bit scarce with no bowls or spoons so we had to use our fruit juice glasses for the yogurt and fruit. The whole thing could be improved with a breakfast buffet under a hot plate if they haven’t got enough staff to serve it.

Everything was amazing, we only have the following comment: we booked city view room, but we got upper ground floor room, with inner view, matted windows and windows could not be opened, and in the morning you could feel the breakfast smell. Overall the hotel is still amazing, clean, nice staff, good breakfast, amazing location and we would chose it again.

The Hotel itself is very dated in decor, but I actually enjoyed this and it felt quite nostalgic to me. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful and you're not overly fussy then this place will do you just fine. After all I wasn't here to spend all day in the room, but to go out and explore. There was coffee and tea, fresh towels, and I was left alone for the 2 nights I stayed which I appreciate. Some people enjoy the maid service, but personally I prefer not being bothered. From all the other reviews it mentioned a fee upon arrival as an insurance for damages, but I got asked for no extra fees, so I'm guessing this is based on the larger more valuable family type rooms maybe. If you are a solo traveler like myself then the location is brilliant, as it's right next to the main beach strip, a cool little local beach front cafe which is reasonably priced, and if you have the legs for it like me, a massive nature trek to explore full of beautiful forestry and greenery. The main shopping town and Italian gardens are only a short 15 minute walk away. If you are on a budget there's a wetherspoons just 5 minutes away which is very decent and has great sea views, staff were all lovely. Staff at the hotel were also very friendly if you approached or talked to them. Only negative I'd say is that you can't book in till 3pm, but there is plenty to keep you busy nearby whilst you wait. If you are fussy and expect the Ritz, this place ain't for you, but if you are there with a fair level head and you just want cheap lodgings, then it'll do you fine for a night or two. I'd definitely stay again for the cheap price of just over 30 quid a night. Thanks and I'll be back down the line 😎

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Comfortable Stay and Great Location I stayed at the Holiday Inn Taunton and had a very comfortable experience. The hotel is easy to access, just off the M5, which made it a convenient base for exploring Somerset or stopping over during a longer journey. The room was clean and quiet, with everything I needed — a comfy bed, a good shower, and a desk area. Wi-Fi worked well, and I appreciated the tea/coffee station. While the decor is slightly dated in some areas, everything was well-maintained. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional from check-in to check-out. The breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold options, and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere in the evening too.

We booked 2 nights for a relaxing spa weekend. Based on it being a spa hotel. We planned on staying in the hotel for the whole weekend.  When we arrived we were told there was no restaurant or bar we can use as it’s only used for events.  We then had some lunch in the spa cafe. Food was ok. Service was terrible.  We then went to the room as we were able to check in. The cleaner was still there. Very apologetic extremely polite and lovely. The room was absolutely wonderful. Large bedroom bathroom and living room.  We went out and found a pub for food. When we returned to relax in the room we found the party was directly below us and in full swing. Very loud and noisy and the smoking area was right outside our window. We called reception but they were fully booked. Glad to say it all stopped at midnight.  We went down to breakfast at 9.30. Not much left and the full breakfast was cold. When we questioned it we were just told”well it has been there since 7” it had just sat on the side in silver trays for 2.5 hours, no heat or option to reheat. It wasn’t edible.  We skipped breakfast that we paid for on the second day.  We then thought we would spend some time in the spa. Ha! Well the pool is small, no where to relax just a couple of plastic chairs, not a spa at all. It had a very small sauna and steam room. The jacuzzi didn’t work it was just a pool of cloudy water with a few bubbles.  Would not recommend. Seems it used to be and could be a wonderful place to be but has been taken over and lost its sole. Such a shame as the building and grounds are wonderful.  I have to add the cleaning staff and lady on reception were wonderful, welcoming and friendly.
