«Service and cleanliness was very good. However, it did not say anywhere that we had to pay an extra 40 pounds per person for the “spa” (which are the pools and amenities). When we booked, it looked like everything was included. When I asked the reception about this they just said that it was not their problem and just gave excuses about they being in the middle of changing systems and said that if we were not obligated to pay if we did not want to. But the whole point for us to book this hotel was to have a spa day, so would be pointless for us to go there to just sit in our rooms. Not worth it at all for the price you pay and the 40 pounds extra per person on top. Although the room was clean, it was extremely small and there was a constant noise that was on and of every couple minutes that disturbed our sleep heavily. The loudness meant we had barely any sleep. Overall would not recommend, extremely overpriced and overrated.»

NNawal TahaWhat I enjoyed most about Buxton was its peaceful atmosphere. It felt like a place where you could slow down, relax, and appreciate the beauty around you. I loved strolling through the well-maintained gardens, sitting outside with a refreshing drink overlooking the park, and admiring the town’s impressive Victorian architecture.
Staying in the Wedgwood Suite at the Palace Hotel & Spa made the trip even more memorable. We managed to secure it at an amazing price, making it feel like a real luxury experience without the luxury price tag. While the spa is a little dated and could do with some cosmetic updates, it was still enjoyable and a lovely place to unwind.
I also enjoyed the fun touches around Buxton, like the giant outdoor chess set, which added character to the town. Overall, Buxton has a unique combination of history, elegance, green spaces, and tranquillity that makes it a wonderful destination for a relaxing getaway. It left me feeling refreshed and reminded me that sometimes the simplest escapes are the most rewarding.

Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport.

UUsuario invitadoWe stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.

UUsuario invitadoAn excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall.
Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy.
We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub.
Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills.
Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District National Park.

UUsuario invitadoA wonderful, quiet location with plenty of free parking and an extremely warm welcome,The hotel could do with a little tender care, as parts of it were disintegrating and in poor repair. The window frames, which are unfortunately rotting away, along with slipped, broken roof tiles due to lack of maintenance. We were a little disappointed that we could not order our tasty evening Indian meal from the on-site restaurant to eat in our room after a long day out and about, and instead had to eat in the poorly lit restaurant, so much so that I could not read the menu with the tiny writing and poor design colors. I would not stay again, as what was described as a standard double room on the second floor was in a converted half-eve loft with no view out of the roof windows. The ensuite was adequate, with a good shower; towels, soap and body wash were included, though only one pair of slippers. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, which, in my opinion, was too expensive for what it is.

UUsuario invitado無敵滿意，這是我在英國住的性價比最高的酒店，雖然是在莊園附近一樓就是餐廳吃東西也是很方便的。酒店前台也熱情晚餐味道也還不錯，酒店旁邊還有房車基地，如果從Sheffield下車坐218回經過達西莊園然後轉6.1公交七分鐘，按照導航定位的位置一定要記得繼續向前走幾分鐘過一個小橋就到了，導航不太準確。當地的公交坐着和出租車沒區別，本來打車去酒店發現Uber138磅 不划算直接坐車就OK。一路上風景特別美，也是一個不錯的旅途體驗～

We used the NCP car park which was only. 5min walk.
All the staff were smart, well mannered and helpful.
The room was a good size and were surprised to have a full sized bath as well as a powerful shower.
Fantastic breakfast selection where all food was replenished as soon as it was getting low.
The only negatives for us was the fact we found some rubbish near the bed along with evidence of dust, one of the bed sheets was torn and one of the bedside wall lamp units was hanging off the wall but still functional.
Overall a really lovely hotel and ideally situated for the football stadium as well as taking in the local sites/ shopping centre (straight over the road)

UUsuario invitadoFrom the outside, the hotel makes a charming first impression with its elegant façade, ornate balconies, and a warmly lit lobby that exudes a sense of old-world charm. The check-in process is smooth, and the staff are courteous and eager to help.
The room was clean and spacious, the décor is a bit dated but it adds a character to the place and I like it. The only small issue was, there’s no window only a door to the balcony which is locked and we cannot access it making the room stuffy.
Also, it was difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep due to a noise of exhaust fan in the bathroom throughout the night.
The bed was comfortable and having an iron was a bonus.
Will I stay again? Definitely.
