The stay was very comfortable. The room was spacious and clean, which made it very pleasant. Although there is a club on the top floor, the noise didn’t really disturb me. The breakfast was also good and enjoyable.

I didn't know that the room type I booked was at the other far end of the apartment building. Not only did I feel cast aside due to the distance, but the lobby area didn't look anything like a hotel. I barely saw any hotel staff around until the day I was checking out. The room was big, but for the most part, it looked dated, particularly the kitchen and the bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with only a bread toaster, a frying pan, a wooden spoon (that really looked like it was time to replace), two glasses, two sets of cutlery, a teapot, and a small creamer pot. There was no electric kettle, not to mention coffee cups. There was no dish towel and again, not to mention kitchen soap. One cooking hob didn't work while the other kept beeping when switched on and stayed cold. There was a mineral water dispenser, but the water from the hot tap was only 70% hot. You can't make a cup of coffee or tea with water that isn't hot enough. I didn't have a good experience when making phone calls to book the 3-hour city transportation. I had the same experience on the first morning when I asked about the breakfast that was to be sent to my room. It was set to be delivered at 9 a.m. I made a call at 9:05 a.m. and was told that they would prepare it right away. When delivered, there were a few missing items: fresh milk for my coffee, orange juice, and a teaspoon for the coffee. I had to make a call again to request them. (I had already mentioned to the staff the night before what I would like to have for my breakfast.) On the next day, I made a call at 6 a.m. to request the same type of breakfast to be sent to my room at 9:30 a.m. Hours later, close to 9:30 a.m., I made a call to room service again to inquire if they were sending my breakfast already. My call was passed from one person to another until the third person who spoke to me seemed unaware of my 'order'. By this time, I was very upset. He said he would attend to it right away and have it delivered to my room in ten minutes. By the time it arrived, it was 9:58 a.m. Nonetheless, the chicken porridge on both mornings were absolutely delicious. The Soto Medan which I ordered as a room service was tasty too. My sleep on both nights was pretty uninterrupted despite the honking from the heavy traffic. On Sunday, after my Fajr prayer at 6-ish, there was music, announcements, etc., from an event downstairs that lasted for three hours. During checkout, staff was going to hand me 800,000 IDR until I told him that I had only made a deposit of 500,000. It was then I realized the amount written on the deposit receipt; the number 5 looked more like an 8. That must be why he wanted to return a security deposit of 800,000. He was grateful when I told him about the amount I made as a deposit and I told him to give feedback to his colleague about her handwriting (the one who did my check-in was a female staff). Overall, this hotel was just alright for me. The lobby, front desk, and the staff at these two parts of the hotel were great. If there were a next time for me, I'd try the hotel side instead of the apartment, but it's likely there won't be a next time here.

We stayed here this time for 3 nights. We had stayed here a couple of times before. The hotel maintains its hospitality, warmness and courtious reception of customers. It was quite easy to check in and out. The staff from front desk to housekeeping were friendlyand warm. There are little things that should be paid attention to such as the menu for breakfast.. Although the spread is good but there should be some variation/changes. Overall staying here you get value for your money.

The service from the staff was very decent. But the room was severely lacking. The bed was sunken in …. There was an odor in the hallway. The air conditioning made a lot of noise. Non smoking rooms are indeed available but many guests flout the rules and if you’re unlucky like I was assigned a room next to a very heavy smoker the smoke from his room was entering mine through the gaps in the partition door.

Recientemente me quedé en el Grand Sakura Hotel en Medan, y en general, fue una experiencia decente, especialmente por el precio. El hotel está situado en una zona estratégica, lo que facilita el acceso a la ciudad y a las atracciones, a los puntos de compras y al transporte. El hotel está situado en una zona de 3 estrellas, y tiene una zona de 4 estrellas con 3 habitaciones. El hotel está muy cerca de la ciudad, pero no se puede encontrar en el hotel. No obstante, hay algunos desventajas, algunos de los cuales han informado sobre cuestiones como el ruido (especialmente desde las unidades de aire acondicionado), problemas de mantenimiento ocasionales y servicios incoherentes en el escritorio frontal. Las instalaciones son también bastante básicas, por lo que no espere nada de lujo. En general, el Grand Sakura Hotel es una buena opción con un buen presupuesto si busca un lugar sencillo y conveniente para permanecer en Medan.

El hotel ofrece habitaciones de calidad y servicios excepcionales. El desayuno tenía una variedad de opciones, como catering para sabores occidentales e indonésicos. El hotel dispone de un supermercado en la calle y de un supermercado muy grande a unos 5 minutos a pie del hotel. El hotel está muy cerca de las grandes tiendas, pero puede llegar fácilmente a través de un taxi de caja por unos 2 dólares en 10 minutos. La altura de la mesa no era realmente adecuada y no es suficiente para el trabajo de negocios. Sin embargo, terminé la mayoría de trabajo en la silla de repuesto con pijamas para el laptop. Excelente gama de canales de televisión incluyendo BBC y CNN. ($4 Aus Dollar) Usé la piscina que era grande en el segundo piso con vistas a la ciudad. Aún así, recomendaría muy bien este hotel por el precio pagado y excelente servicio y calidad de la habitación para 4 estrellas establecimiento.

The jacuzzi, steam room and pool are a little worn down but the gym is huge and the spa is nice. The room itself was really comfortable and well-kept. Also, the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from DeliPark Mall Medan, which is a huge mall. All in all, I would stay here again if I visit Medan again in the future.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet a bit away from the main town, Tuktuk Timbul is very well located. We stayed in one of their traditional-style little houses, which were very cute and charming. It’s a great spot if your plan is simply to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and do nothing much. The homestay has a restaurant (we didn’t try the food though), a pool, a ping pong table, and a billiard table — so you can easily stay entertained without leaving the property. For the price, it’s definitely good value. That said, if you want to explore or do activities around Lake Toba, this may not be the best base. There isn’t much to do in the immediate area, and the staff weren’t very helpful when we asked for recommendations — apart from renting a scooter, they didn’t provide much guidance. Communication was also tricky as they don’t really speak English. Service felt a bit cold overall; the owners live nearby but never greeted us, which made us feel like we were disturbing them rather than being welcomed. In summary: a good option if your goal is to switch off, relax, and stay put at the homestay itself. But if you’re looking for friendly service, local tips, or activities beyond the property, you might find it lacking.

The hotel was nice, the room was definitely 4*, service at reception was good and the free shuttle was easy to use and convenient. The restaurant food was good but not very good, seemed frozen, but it was good for us. The pool area looked nice but we were only there one night. Security was good There isn't much around but this is a review for the hotel so that doesn't really count. Our key card wouldn't open the door at one point but it was sorted out quickly enough. Three was a smell of smoke in the room as is someone had been smoking nearby and it lingered on the towels. Very good overall

Buena. Los precios eran razonables. Un entorno seguro y un ambiente amigable. Agua caliente era buena. TV tenía muchos canales. La cama también era muy cómoda. El personal hace la habitación todos los días y llena el agua de inmediato. Sólo los cons son que Aircon un poco frío. Y lavandería un poco caro. Y no hay nevera.
