GGuoxiaotuEsta vez me alojé en el Hotel Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, y me impresionaron tanto las instalaciones de hardware como los detalles del servicio. El diseño del hotel combina inteligentemente el encanto tradicional de Pekín con el lujo moderno. Las habitaciones son cómodas y tienen excelentes vistas. SSarahEl taxi tardó 20 minutos dando vueltas para encontrar el sitio; llamamos tres veces y en recepción no supieron darle la dirección. Como no sé mucho de chino, tampoco pude ayudar mucho. Llegué después de parar y preguntar a dos guardias de seguridad en otras entradas del complejo. Tres empleados tardaron 10 minutos en entender mi pregunta: ”¿A qué hora tengo que salir para llegar al aeropuerto a las 10 de la mañana?”. La respuesta inicial fue las 7 de la mañana (está a 15 minutos). Me pasaron a una habitación tranquila al final del pasillo, lo cual agradecí. El agua estaba caliente y la cama era comodísima. Lo malo es que el aire acondicionado/calefacción dejaba entrar humo de otras habitaciones; el baño estaba sucio (pelos y manchas en la bañera; cristales manchados en la ducha; teléfono roto colgando de la pared; artículos de aseo diminutos (inútiles si la habitación la ocupa una pareja)). No pude hacer funcionar la cisterna del inodoro y me costó un poco explicármelo en un chino mediocre. En la nevera solo había una cerveza, una cola y un Sprite. El desayuno era abundante, predominantemente chino, pero bueno.
En mi caso, al pagar más de 1000 RMB por noche en un hotel internacional cerca del aeropuerto, esperaba una mejor comunicación con el personal, una habitación más limpia con mejores servicios y suministros, y que no hubiera olor a humo en una habitación de no fumadores.
Estoy seguro de que hay mejores opciones cerca del aeropuerto que buscaría la próxima vez.

YYawaySe siente como volver a un hotel de cinco estrellas de toda la vida. El ambiente es un poco anticuado, pero la habitación, sobre todo el baño, es espaciosa. El desayuno no suele reponerse a tiempo. Otros servicios son muy atentos, especialmente el recepcionista que va y viene para ayudar a empujar y recoger el equipaje. BBuyaotingzhibenpaoLlegué por la mañana y no pude hacer el check-in de inmediato. Cuando regresé por la noche, me dieron una habitación, pero la cerradura no funcionaba. Como viajero solitario, no es la primera vez que me pasa esto, pero la recepción lo solucionó rápidamente: me hicieron un upgrade por una noche y me pidieron que me mudara al día siguiente. Al final, la habitación que me dieron, la P2, estaba bastante bien.
El aire acondicionado del hotel es centralizado y solo funcionaba para calentar, así que estuve sudando toda la noche. En recepción me dijeron que para refrescarme, solo podía abrir la ventana. Lo intenté, pero como estaba en el segundo piso (y al lado había un restaurante de pato asado), el olor a humo era bastante fuerte. No sé si hubo obras durante el día, pero por la noche estaba bastante tranquilo. En el quinto piso hay lavadoras y un restaurante. El desayuno estaba rico (aunque algunos platos estaban un poco salados).
En general, la estancia fue buena. Está muy cerca de la Ciudad Prohibida (unos diez minutos a pie hasta la Puerta de Donghua) y la estación de metro también es conveniente; no me resultó complicado con mi maleta, a pesar de viajar solo. Lo único es que, al regresar en taxi, siempre había atasco, pero si te ibas en taxi, no había problema.

UUsuario invitadoI travelled solo to beijing first time. Xilian hotel was an amazing experince. I just loved the service and the manners they had. The lovely man who checked me in knew english and upgraded me which I am so thankful for.
The room service was very polite. One person stood out for their service as a receptionist, Li Jia-Hui employee number 13, she helped me for so long through out the night to book my tickets to badaling great wall of china. She was an amazing professional person that I am so grateful for. People like her really makes me want to come back to Xilian hotel next time I am in beijing.
The hotel was super clean, everything worked, laundry self service was really good and automated, it dispensed the detergent itself. They even had ironing equipment too. The gym was good, but it would be nice to have a small rack of dumbell weights, they also gave water in the gym. The room was just amazing it had automated curtains, and Led lights in the mirrors and under the bed. They even had extra mirrors with lights on it for attention to detail on your face. The toilets are super clean and automated. Music played when you walked in. The sofas in the room were like brand new. The bed was super comfortable. I had 2 huge tvs one infront of the bed and the other infront of the sofa. I didnt use the tv so not sure about the channels. The hot tub i had in my room was out of this world, i really loved it. Super hygenic because they gave a plastic clear sheet to put in the hot tub then you step inside it and enjoy, then rip the sheet up after to let the water to be drained. The shower also also really big and clean with some sort of stoned or marble flooring with shower gel and stuff supplied. Slippers were given in the room also bottles of water (it was really good water) and some small cans of coke and sprite i think it was and some herbal tea bags you can make yourself. Robots were delivering food around the hotel which was cool to see. Also the light controls in the rooms were lovely, with different settings on them. They had a cafe down stairs that was nice. Breakfast was really nice all different types of food were given a wide variety anyone would be pleased. It was absolutely delicious. The hotel was top quailty it made my stay in beijing much more enjoyable. It was also nice and warm even though it was freezing outside in december. Special thanks to Li Jia-Hui employee number 13 truly grateful to her she went so far just to help me she deserves a bonus.

UUsuario invitadoI recently stayed at the lovely Pan Pacific Beijing while visiting Beijing for the first time.
After arriving on the high speed train from Shanghai to Beijing South Railway Station, I was pleased that I could board the Metro (Line 4) and ride just four stops north to the Xidan station which was just a short walk from the hotel. The Pan Pacific is ideally situated in the Xicheng District, which is close to the historic sites (e.g.; the Palace Museum / Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven, ...) yet retains a local flair. Should one have the desire/need to shop, the Joy City and Grand Pacific malls are nearby and offer every item from cosmetics and clothes to EVs and restaurants.
My 12th floor Grand Double Bed room was clean, spacious, quiet, comfortable, and well appointed (with an amazing shower). The housekeeping staff did a commendable job of cleaning and restocking my room in a timely manner at my convenience. Each day I worked out in the spacious fitness facility which was stocked with well maintained and high quality equipment (ellipticals, treadmills, weights, ...). The first floor breakfast buffet was delicious, extensive, and very reasonably priced, offering a variety of tasty Asian and Western dishes.
As a non-Chinese speaker, I consulted the friendly and helpful concierge on a variety of matters. He even procured me tickets for Tiananmen Square through the WeChat mini App (a non-trivial process for non-Chinese). All of the Pan Pacific staff went out of their way to make my visit a most memorable one.
Shortly after checking out, I received a phone message while traveling on the high speed train to Hangzhou. The housekeeper called to inform me that I'd accidentally left my keys and (invaluable) USB stick in the safe. Upon arriving in Hangzhou, I called the Pan Pacific and I explained the situation to an exceptionally kind and helpful Pan Pacific employee named Annie. She located the keys/USB and offered to courier them to me in Shanghai (my destination following my brief stay in Hangzhou). Sure enough, upon checking-in three days later in Shanghai, my keys/USB were promptly delivered. Thank you for going the extra mile, Annie, your compassionate treatment coupled with the outstanding service I received throughout my visit has made me a Pan Pacific Beijing convert for life. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Without hesitation, I highly recommend the Pan Pacific Beijing.

This trip was like an encounter with prehistoric man and a case study of a failed business combined.
If you book a standard room, you will be taken away from the five star reception area to another building which has the decor and standards of a thirty year old hotel. Faded carpets, peeling walls, smelly interiors, uncleaned floors and rooms which are impossible to heat. But it was just about liveable, in that it had a bed and hot water. What totally failed to impress were the amenities. We'd come for the children's stuff, the little zoo, water park and others. The price of these are not included in the hotel, and for each experience they charge adults and baby to the tune of 80rmb, meaning you will spend quite a bit to use it all. As soon as I saw the children's rides I became depressed, they were rusting and looked murderous, as if the nuts and bolts would be dislodged and explode fatally in all directions if a kid shook too heavily on the things. To even use anything suggested you'd become unclean as well. Then you attempt to ask staff something but stop when you realise how futile it would be to address someone with one eye in its forehead and the other in its chin, with their peers boasting similarly fascinating facial misalignments. An hour of that and we wanted to leave, including our baby. She would have been much happier at home playing with her toys, or rather just happy at home doing anything than being at the Nirvana resort. Anyway, the swimming pool is not free either, they will charge you 58 a person including child. When I went to ask about a swim, staff were downright stunned I'd walked in to ask such a question, watching as I entered and left with hillbilly intensity and incomprehension.
You can see the park had a lot of money invested in it before, way back in the misty past, but I can't see them recouping their losses. The resort is a grab money scheme with separate interests taking care of, or neglecting, what is on offer. I can't see them attracting a moneyed middle class without a total overhaul.
On the plus side, my wife and I did have a good laugh about how bad it was and the fact we'd packed for a few days in expectation of a holiday, but found ourselves cancelling after an hour. The reception was helpful with this and refunded our money. The staff are well meaning in a vacuous kind of way, going about their duties as the whole place drops about them, broken lifts, falling plaster, water leaks and all. But to be sincerely positive, the gardens are pleasant along with the lake and ducks.
