🌟 5-Star Review for Hostel Casa Colón, San José I had a fantastic stay at Hostel Casa Colón — it exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you’re heading to or from the airport or bus terminals. The staff were welcoming and helpful, offering great local tips. My room was clean, secure, and surprisingly quiet despite being in the city. The common areas are stylish and spacious, with a cozy on-site restaurant that serves excellent breakfast and coffee. It truly felt more like a boutique guesthouse than a typical hostel. Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples, or anyone looking for comfort and value in San José.

Book only one night needed to be closed to the airport prior to leaving Costa Rica. I arrived too early to check in so I left my backpack in the storage and went sightseeing. Rooms were cleaned however my issues was with the cleanliness of the bathrooms I wish they were cleaner . Shower’s didn’t have any hooks or shelves and I didn’t have anywhere to but my stuff other then the floor. I found a very cockroach in the shower which was also gross. Bathrooms could definitely be cleaner and furniture could be less broken done. Definitely more on the budget friendly side.

¡Tuvimos una estancia estupenda! Nos recibieron con una cálida bienvenida y nos proporcionaron estacionamiento reservado ($10). También un pequeño desayuno con tostadas, mermelada, café y ensalada de frutas. En general buenas instalaciones, habitaciones modernas. Nos gustó mucho.

Nice hotel in San-Jose. Old colonial style house very well decorated. Close to city center (in 10-15mins). Next door to the hotel is very good restaurant Pataconeria. Breakfast in the patio starting at 6:30, there is a choose of dishes.  Close to the hotel is railway which wake you up early :)

El Hotel San José es una opción económica, pero su ubicación es incómoda y da la sensación de inseguridad. El hotel es básico, con servicios y seguridad mínimos. Es ideal para viajeros que priorizan el bajo costo sobre la comodidad o la seguridad. En general, la experiencia es regular y decepcionante para quienes esperan más.

Superb hostal with great facilities, an excellent host (Dylan) and lots of small extras that make all the difference. Tea coffee biscuits and fruit provided gratis. Was able to stay in the room.2 extra hours to assist me in getting to the airport for my flight. Outstanding

Cuando la reserva era de 20 metros cuadrados, cuando llegó, me sentía muy decepcionado, aproximadamente, de 10 a 12 metros cuadrados, . Nuestro cuarto doble reservado es muy pequeño, la habitación es pequeña. No hay tobillos. El tobillo puede sentarse en la cama de forma normal. Feliz diseño. El entorno cercano es general. El transporte se encuentra básicamente a la distancia (las atracciones no son demasiado lejos, de los museos nacionales 1.7 a 2 kilómetros). El personal de servicio es bueno. Aunque no es inglés, también es muy activo responder nuestras preguntas con un traductor.

Jorge was very helpful Location not too bad but as with uber most places are within reach. Shower and sink tap a bit to be desired  Will I stay again well maybe I will.
