UUsuario anónimoStaying at the Lanjing Apartment Hotel at Wanda Plaza in Hohhot genuinely felt less like checking into a stiff, predictable hotel room and much more like borrowing a stylish, high-rise apartment from a friend. I booked it primarily for the location, but by the time I checked out, it was the sheer convenience and comfort of the space that made me realize I’d probably never bother looking for another place to stay whenever I find myself back in the city.
Finding the front desk initially takes a little bit of navigation since the hotel operates out of one of the massive Wanda apartment towers rather than a traditional standalone lobby, but the staff immediately made up for any initial confusion. They were incredibly welcoming, handing over the keys with plenty of great local food recommendations and a genuine hospitality that you rarely get at massive corporate chains.
The room itself was an immediate relief, especially compared to the cramped, cookie-cutter layout of standard budget hotels. It was incredibly spacious, flooded with natural light from a massive floor-to-ceiling window that offered an amazing view of the city, which looked spectacular at night. The design had a sleek, modern, almost minimalist vibe, but it didn't sacrifice comfort for aesthetics. The bed, featuring a remarkably plush latex mattress, was an absolute dream to collapse into after a long day of walking. What really elevated the experience for me, though, were the practical, homey touches. Having a functional washing machine and a mini-fridge right in the room is a total game-changer if you’ve been on the road for a while or just want to unpack and feel settled.
Of course, the absolute superpower of this place is exactly what sits right outside the front door. Being physically integrated into the Wanda Plaza complex means you are plugged directly into the heartbeat of the area. If I wanted a quick coffee, a late-night hotpot fix, or needed to grab a few things from a supermarket, I just had to take the elevator downstairs to the pedestrian street. There is no traditional hotel breakfast buffet here, but honestly, with hundreds of dining options quite literally at your doorstep, a hotel restaurant would just hold you back.
Getting around the rest of Hohhot from there was entirely effortless. The Inner Mongolia Museum Metro Station is just a short, easy walk down the street, which connects you to the rest of the city's main attractions in no time. Plus, because it is only a quick ten-to-fifteen-minute drive from the Hohhot East Railway Station and relatively close to the airport, the logistics of arriving and leaving were completely stress-free.
The property does have a couple of quirks to keep in mind. Because it is spread out across different floors of a busy commercial tower, the elevators can occasionally get a bit sluggish during peak hours, and if you are driving a car, navigating the crowded mall parking structures can be a bit of a headache. The room decor can also vary depending on which specific unit you get. But for anyone who values a massive amount of personal space, the freedom of in-room laundry, and having an entire modern shopping district right under their feet, it is an absolute steal. It gives you a genuine taste of city living with all the safety and ease of a managed property.

UUsuario invitadoThe hotel was difficult to find and it was horrible to find parking. You also have to first take an elevator to the 3rd floor then walk to another elevator to take it to your floor (we were on the 4th floor). The corridors were dark and scary with lots of construction going on. It also smelt like smoke everywhere. One of the two elevators was out of service. Maybe they are new but there’s just too much construction going on and it’s too dark. Too much walking and changing elevator was inconvenient. Breakfast ended at 9am and we arrived at 8:45am and they were already cleaning up. Not much variety. Everything was spicy. The milk smelt so bad…like it came straight from the farm. I almost threw up.
THEY ONLY PROVIDE DISPOSABLE TOWELS. I hate disposable towels - you can’t dry off like that. I asked for an extra one and while we went out for dinner the staff entered our room without our consent to check if we already had towels. Where is the privacy?!? There are bugs everywhere. The laundry room only has one washer and one dryer. Extremely inconvenient as there are so many rooms and everyone wanted to do laundry. I waited till midnight to be able to do my laundry and yet my clothes weren’t even dry because I was too tired to wait any longer.
The front desk staff weren’t that friendly upon arrival but were very nice when we checked out. Helped watch my child while I put luggage in my car as it wasn’t convenient to take her with me in the rain.
They provide free entry to this park in Heishantouzhen but the place isn’t actually that fun. The staff there are rude and unfriendly. The animals looked dirty and sad.
I don’t think I will stay at this hotel again unfortunately next time until they clean up the construction and not use disposable towels again. It’s not environmentally friendly.

UUsuario anónimoThe receptionist lady at the hotel was very friendly, kind, and welcoming. The hotel is located in a very convenient area in the city center, which was a great advantage.
However, the cleanliness of the bathroom was not satisfactory. The hotel did not provide enough bottled drinking water according to the number of guests staying in the room. I believe it is important to provide clean bottled water based on the number of guests and beds in the room. This does not cost much for the hotel, but for tired travelers who have been on a long journey, it is a small but valuable comfort.
There were also no porcelain cups available for drinking tea in the room.
In addition, some foreign guests were talking loudly, coming in and out of the hotel, and making a lot of noise until around 2 a.m. This made our stay uncomfortable and disturbed our rest.
We had traveled a long distance and were extremely tired, so we decided to overlook these issues and requested to extend our stay for one more night at the same hotel to get some rest. However, the hotel increased the room price, which was disappointing.
Furthermore, although the agreed check-out time was 2:00 p.m., we were asked to leave after 12:30 p.m. As a result, we could not finish our lunch and had to check out at around 1:30 p.m. We hope the hotel can pay more attention to respecting the agreed check-out time and providing better service for guests in the future.
I sincerely hope the hotel management will pay more attention to these issues and work on improving the quality of service for future guests. Wishing your hotel continued success.

The location is fantastic, it was just steps away from the metro and numerous bus stops, making it incredibly easy to get around. It's also very close to the Dazhao Temple and the Five Pagodas, which was a real bonus for exploring the local heritage without wasting time in transit.
I chose to book an apartment style hotel room, and it was such a great decision. After weeks of hopping between one-night hotel stays, I really needed a place to settle down, and this spacious, quiet apartment was exactly what I needed. It was clean, roomy, and very comfortable.
The service was flawless. The staff were highly responsive over the phone, available day and night. A huge thank you to the team for taking the time to help me ship my packages, that kind of attention really meant a lot to me.
Little touches made all the difference: fresh bottles of water were provided every day, and the trash was taken out daily as well. Honestly, everything was just perfect.
Just a helpful tip : don't make my mistake! When you arrive, make sure to go to Building A. As you enter the main hall, it's on the left. there's a big sign clearly indicating it. Same goes for when you order on *******: be sure to specify Building A in your delivery address. Otherwise, your order will end up in the building next door (not far, but you'll have to switch elevators).
In short, if I ever come back to the area, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything.
