Gaga ChanEl hotel dispone de un parking privado con 800 yen por noche, situado justo al lado del hotel. El restaurante detrás sirve buena comida, con un personal indio (creo) que habla inglés ayudaba mucho en el pedido.

My Stay at Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Naganuma – A Pleasant Surprise in Hokkaido
The Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Naganuma was one of the most unexpectedly comfortable stops during my recent self-drive trip around Hokkaido. Located in the peaceful town of Naganuma, it’s about a 30-minute drive from New Chitose Airport and roughly one hour from central Sapporo. While it’s far from the bustling city center, that distance is exactly what gives the place its rare sense of tranquility.
When I arrived at the parking lot in the middle of winter, my car was covered in snow. Before I could even grab a shovel, a staff member came over with a friendly smile and quickly cleared the snow off the vehicle for me. The service was warm, efficient, and genuinely thoughtful—it made the whole check-in experience feel smooth and welcoming right from the start.
The room impressed me immediately with its generous size. Compared to many typical Japanese business hotels, the space here feels noticeably roomy. I could easily open my large suitcase fully and organize everything without everything feeling cramped. The bed was comfortable, and the large windows offered an open view of the surrounding fields (a pure white snowscape in winter), which made the stay very relaxing.
Cleanliness is another standout feature. The entire hotel was impeccably maintained—floors, bathroom, bedding, everything spotless. There wasn’t the slightest odd smell in the air, and I slept very soundly every night.
The surroundings are extremely quiet. At night you hear almost no traffic or human sounds—just the soft whisper of wind. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking to escape city noise. The downside is that there are no convenience stores within walking distance, so if you don’t have a car it can be inconvenient. I recommend stocking up on snacks and drinks at a roadside station (Michi-no-Eki) or supermarket before checking in.
Scenery-wise, the hotel is surrounded by wide Hokkaido plains. In winter it’s an endless blanket of snow; in summer I imagine it turns into lush green fields—either way, it’s incredibly photogenic and healing for the eyes. Although it takes about an hour to drive to central Sapporo, having a car turns this “remoteness” into an advantage: you can easily reach nearby hot springs, farms, or head further north to other attractions.
In summary, this hotel is an excellent choice for self-drive travelers looking for a comfortable overnight stop or anyone who wants a quiet, restful base. Great value for money, spotlessly clean, friendly and attentive staff, plus that peaceful away-from-it-all atmosphere—I’d happily return on my next Hokkaido trip.

Usuario invitadoI stayed for one night for a business trip.
The bathroom and toilet are separate. The bathroom has a Japanese-style washing area. Amenities are provided near the front desk. I appreciated that they had bath salts. It's close to the station, but it takes some time to walk to the city center.

Perfect location for skiers - a two minute walk across the carpark and you're at the gondola/chairlift base station. The hotel also has a bus stop outside which is helpful to get to the JR station or into town, although buses are pretty infrequent. There are some dining options nearby, and a convenience store about 10-15 min walk away. The hotel sells discounted lift tickets (which you need to exchange at the ticket booth for a real ticket).
The hotel has an eclectic older style charm. The ”owl” branding throughout was cute, and there's a nice lounge where non-skiers can relax with lots of reading material (most in Japanese). Free snacks and drinks each afternoon in the lobby are a nice touch. The onsite indoor and outdoor onsens are relaxing. There's a laundry with coin operated washer dryers, which is handy.
Breakfasts were decent, although some dishes were a bit sweet for our taste, and there was very little variation from day to day, which is an issue for a ski resort where guests typically stay for multiple days. Staff allocate you to a table (different each day), a system which works pretty well and avoids having to hunt for a table at busy times.
Some procedures seem a bit overcomplicated - checkin involved our name being taken, then being called 10 min later and guided through a self-checkin touchscreen system which wasn't super reliable at reading passports. Also you need to specify your breakfast time each day and then come back and get a ticket later, which seems overcomplicated - better to just let you specify a default time on checkin with the option to vary manually if desired. However staff throughout the hotel are polite and helpful.
The room we had was spacious with a view over the ski field. The bathroom was a modular unit - clean but a bit dated and with an awkward step up to get in.
Beds were made up in a rather strange way - rather than a having a fitted bottom sheet, there was a thin mat laid on top of the mattress. If you move around at all while sleeping this mat ends up a lumpy mess and you often find yourself sleeping partially on the bare mattress.

Usuario invitadoA very comfortable stay. I was in a Single Rm on d 13th flr. Super quiet at the end of the hallway. Window facing another building wall, no view. Comfortable bed and PJ set. No daily housekeeping provided but they'd leave a bag of towel, new PJ set and stuffs hanging on your door in the morning. Early check-in would cost 1000¥ per hour till the official 3【pm check-in time. I opt to leave my luggage in their storage rm, after I checked in around 4:30p, my bags already in my rm. Professional and polite staffs in general. I took the airport bus, but on my day of arrival, bus companies not dropping off passengers infront of the hotel due to severe snowstorm 2 days prior. And they also not picking up infront of d hotel on the wkend and final day of d Sapporo Winter Festival. Nearest airport bus stop would be Odori Park or Grand Sapporo Hotel. It's about less than 10mins walk. If it's during winter with snow on d ground, the Grand Sapporo Hotel bus stop would actually be a better route. I took the Odori Park route and was a bit tedious. Hotel is attentive to amenities details eg: charging cables of different ports ( type-C, Apple, usb-A etc...) available in the rm; utensils available at each floor's elevator lobby, free tea/coffee and extra toiletries at Lobby. Coin laundry(cash only) is 300¥ for each load of washing ( laundry detergent will automatically add in) and 100¥ for 30mins dry. Coin exchange avail at Check-in desk. Great location to Odori Park just across the street and plenty of choices for food + shopping. Rm facing the park during Winter Festival might be noisy due to stage performances and safety announcements or whatnot from the megaphone. Loves the onsen; Female and male has each of their own sections. Closed for cleaning 10a-2p daily, but daily operation is 2p-2a. Delicious mini fruit popsicles/ ice cream available to onsen users. No mini-fridge nor microwave in the rm. Breakfast buffet cost 2300¥/pax with mostly cold dishes, hot food only a handful of choices - wished could be more though; but they do serve wine (red+ white). Will stay again.
