Reception staff was super friendly and very helpful a credit to the hotel. Room was clean with a lovely bed and warm powerful shower. Food served til 8.30pm which the food we had was lovely and would recommend, menu is rather small but they are good at accommodating e.g vegetarian however a little on the high price. I would say the bar is over priced for the stay however lovely open fire! The grounds are nice with a woodland behind. With a kids play area and a few added bits e.g giant chest set. Room was a little cold (room 25) with the heating in the room not working however a plug in was provided within the room and the hotel it’s self rather warm downstairs with working heating. My biggest concern was the windows the bathroom window faces out to the staff carpark and the blinds old, dirty and not working with dam or water damage above the windows ( which i expected given the age and price of the room) The hotel has a little dungeon which we were allowed to go down which added to the castle stay! The hotel has certain bits of armed men and knights bits on display. I felt with a small investment in displaying the castles history and strengthen the knight theme the dungeon could be a little hidden gem Ice cream parlour up the road on a working farm with kids play area, good selection of shops within 10 mins drive at a new retail park with cinema, plenty of restaurants, and supermarkets Would stay here again Overall would stay here again

Absolutely spotless and finished to a high standard. Decor is modern and appealing throughout. Staff are helpful. Lovely restaurant and fantastic coffee served there. The only slight issue I would say, is that you can hear guests in the next room very easily and this isn’t desirable for obvious reasons. We sadly ended up with very noisy guests in the room next to us the first night we stayed and this caused considerable disruption to our sleep pretty much all night. Saying this, we didn’t notify the staff though (so they may have been able to help) as there was no phone in the room. The next night was fine and completely silent so this would be dependent on who you have staying near you.

The accommodation was close to the theatre and centre of town. The room was very small, but it was clean and okay for the one night we booked.

Si conduces, creo que es la mejor ubicación. No tengo coche, así que camino del centro de la ciudad o cogí un taxi. Caminar por la principal carretera, así que ni siquiera parece peligroso en la noche, pero no huele. La habitación es muy grande y limpia. La cama es muy cómoda. Bebe té y café infinitamente. Había un edificio ３, soy el edificio más lejos de la recepción. llegué a la noche, así que el día era muy oscuro, tirando la maleta hacia allí un poco de humor y tensión.

The self check in was quite simple, and they had our room ready before the original check-in time. The room was very clean, staff are not always present but they are friendly and helpful. Really close to a bus station that has direct bus to Beamish Museum, and walking distance to Aldi, Asda, and some fast food/takeaway nearby. Really good for non-driving people visiting Beamish Museum. The walls may be thin and could occassionally hear sounds from other room, but it's an overall good experience.

Estado por una noche en Feb 2026. ¡Habitación confortable, agradables instalaciones (amar el tubo), buena ubicación y hermosa almacenamiento de equipaje después de la salida. No pierdas su desayuno!

Un hotel muy bonito, estacionamiento barato , hemos modernizado a un doble con sofá , el personal estaba adorable, nada era demasiado problema , el desayuno fue una buena opción aunque cuando está ocupado no hay mucho espacio para estar y esperar , Siempre parecía estar en la forma de alguien , y cosas donde salía , aunque el personal estaba siempre en el camino no parecía ser anticipado, pero en todo el brillante valor por dinero

They had a simple answer ‘No’ for everything. Can I check in 30 mins early? No. Pay £15 extra. Paid! Laundry service available? No Microwave available to heat food in the restaurant? No It’s a very basic hotel. Not recommended for families. Asked to clean the room; they forgot to inform the cleaner. Even when they cleaned the room the next day, they just changed the linen. Everything else was as is. Poor experience overall
