Hotel is refurbished and it all looks fresh and clean. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed, good lighting and a great bathroom with good shower. Easy walk to square. Thanks to Trip, we had a very good deal

We stayed in a very spacious room with queen sized bed, plenty of storage and shelfs, spotless clean. Lighting is nice. Bed is of the right softness to let me have a good sleep before my Tongariro Crossing the next day. They also offer Tongariro shuttle service but I only learnt this when I arrived the motel. The host is super friendly and she showed us everything we need to know to get prepared for the Crossing. Communal kitchen provided us everything we need, it's also very clean and spacious. The motel is around 30min drive to the end points of the Crossing cause we booked a one way shuttle which will bring us to the start of the Crossing. Location is fantastic. Restaurants nearby was busy around Easter holiday, so we decided to cook ourselves, which is also nice. The temperature of the motel is just right which makes you feel so comfortable and dry. I will come back again if I will do Tongariro Crossing again in the future.

Better than expected overall. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, though the thin walls make it quite noisy. The place is dated but has a nice rustic charm. Rooms are small—fine for three people with backpacks, but tight with larger luggage. The kitchen/lounge is well equipped, though bathrooms are limited (two toilets and two showers). Great location for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, with shuttle pick-up right outside. Limited nearby options, so bring food or eat at the on-site restaurant, which serves generous, tasty meals. Sauna is a nice bonus.

I stopped here just because I was tired of driving. There are a bunch of restaurants around and a supermarket, so in that sense, the location is good, but I don't think there is much interesting in the proximity. The room was great: very clean, spacious, the shower was clean and the towels smelled fresh. Even the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash were very nice, not like the regular cheap stuff you get. So all in all a great place to have a rest.

Yo estaba en el motel el año pasado y nos gustaba. Los dueños son muy amables y prematuras. Por eso vuelvo este año y sólo puedo decir que la amable no es aún excesiva. Este año, solo y en la cabaña con lavado/douche compartido. Está completamente suficiente. Fue traído del motel al punto de partida del Tongariro y recogido al final. ¡Eso es genial! ¡Soy más de 75 años y sólo hablo mal inglés! Pero la dueña me ha entregado una familia de Alemania que ha traducido. Super! Un trabajo que sólo se puede alabarse.

We travelled to Taihape for one of my sisters funerals and upon waking up in the morning we discovered that there was no hot water in our room, or for that matter in the whole block of rooms. Because of this we weren't able to shower before leaving the hotel. The Owners/Managers were made aware of the situation and they discovered that the hot water cylinders for the block had ruptured. No alternative or compensation was offered. Very disappointing as we paid full price of $162 for our room for one night. Will never stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Es una pequeña casa de madera más guapa, con un estacionamiento automático, en general, la pequeña casa de madera en la montaña no es buena.  Añadir un punto es el desayuno proporcionado por la pequeña casa de madera por unos 30 dólares, y un desayuno es muy bueno.  La desventaja es la habitación en la que vivo, y la puerta de su ventana no puede cerrar, tal vez porque la habitación es muy vieja. Pero el paisaje de esta montaña es realmente hermoso. Espero que pueda verlo de nuevo en invierno como está cubierto de agua profunda, porque vine en verano, básicamente sin nieve

Arrived into Whanganui and found the hotel easily. After checking in, very easily, we went to our room. Not sure how old the hotel is, but the hall way & guest lounge very 1920’s with modern touches - comfortable & elegant. Our room was another elegant room with lovely touches accenting the period of the property. Though looking “old” the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a corner whirlpool bath, as well as a shower too. We ate in the restaurant that evening & both of us had a lovely meal. Great stay & definitely recommend it.

Era lo suficientemente espacioso y cómodo para que una familia de 3-4 permaneciera junta. Las instalaciones para cocinar están bien equipadas, por lo que es conveniente. Ropa de cama limpia y cómoda. Buen Wi-Fi también. Si alguna vez necesita alojarse en Palmerston North, Fitzroy Motel es una excelente opción.
