Had a great stay at Grand Central Premier Hotel! The room was very big, spacious, clean, and well maintained, which made the stay really comfortable. The facilities and amenities are also great. I especially appreciated the welcome drinks during check-in, a nice touch that made the experience feel more premium. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day. Location-wise, it’s very strategic. It’s within walking distance to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. Plus, it’s close to Deli Park Mall, one of the nicest shopping malls in the city, so food and shopping options are easily accessible.

No sabía que la habitación que reservé estaba en el otro extremo del edificio. No solo me sentí marginado por la distancia, sino que el vestíbulo no parecía un hotel en absoluto. Apenas vi personal del hotel hasta el día de mi salida. La habitación era grande, pero en general se veía anticuada, sobre todo la cocina y el baño. La cocina solo contaba con una tostadora, una sartén, una cuchara de madera (que claramente necesitaba ser reemplazada), dos vasos, dos juegos de cubiertos, una tetera y una pequeña jarra para la leche. No había hervidor eléctrico, ni mucho menos tazas de café. Tampoco había paño de cocina ni jabón. Una de las placas de cocina no funcionaba, mientras que la otra pitaba al encenderla y permanecía fría. Había un dispensador de agua mineral, pero el agua del grifo de agua caliente solo salía a una temperatura del 70%. Es imposible preparar una taza de café o té con agua tan fría. No tuve una buena experiencia al llamar para reservar el transporte urbano de 3 horas. Tuve la misma experiencia la primera mañana cuando pregunté por el desayuno que debían enviarme a la habitación. Estaba programado para las 9 a.m. Llamé a las 9:05 a.m. y me dijeron que lo prepararían de inmediato. Cuando llegó, faltaban algunas cosas: leche fresca para mi café, jugo de naranja y una cucharilla para el café. Tuve que llamar de nuevo para pedirlas. (Ya le había comentado al personal la noche anterior lo que quería para el desayuno). Al día siguiente, llamé a las 6 a.m. para pedir el mismo tipo de desayuno que me enviaran a la habitación a las 9:30 a.m. Horas más tarde, cerca de las 9:30 a.m., volví a llamar al servicio de habitaciones para preguntar si ya me habían enviado el desayuno. Mi llamada fue pasando de una persona a otra hasta que la tercera persona que habló conmigo parecía no estar al tanto de mi ”pedido”. Para entonces, estaba muy molesto. Me dijo que lo atendería de inmediato y que me lo traerían a la habitación en diez minutos. Cuando llegó, eran las 9:58 a. m. Aun así, la sopa de pollo que me sirvieron ambas mañanas estaba deliciosa. El Soto Medan que pedí al servicio de habitaciones también estaba rico. Dormí bastante bien ambas noches a pesar del ruido de las bocinas del tráfico. El domingo, después de mi oración del Fajr sobre las 6, hubo música, anuncios, etc., de un evento en la planta baja que duró tres horas. Al hacer el check-out, el personal iba a entregarme 800.000 IDR hasta que le dije que solo había hecho un depósito de 500.000. Fue entonces cuando me di cuenta de la cantidad escrita en el recibo del depósito; el número 5 parecía más bien un 8. Esa debe ser la razón por la que quería devolverme un depósito de seguridad de 800.000. Me agradeció cuando le comenté el monto del depósito y le pedí que le comentara a su compañera sobre su letra (la persona que me atendió en el check-in era una mujer). En general, este hotel me pareció regular. El vestíbulo, la recepción y el personal de estas dos áreas fueron excelentes. Si volviera, elegiría el hotel en lugar del apartamento, pero es probable que no regrese.

No hot water in the shower, a little bit seems dirty/ broken in the bathroom and it doesn’t give the feeling of real luxury, but for this price I think it’s very good still. You have a restaurant which is open 24/7 with friendly servers. The pool is shared by hotel guests with people who pay for usage of the pool, looks clean enough. Staff helped to bring luggage to the room. The location of the hotel is good, it feels a little bit less developed around the hotel tho, but there is a nice mall nearby, maybe 5 minutes with the car.

amazing rooms with breathtaking views right at the top of the mountain. the weather temperature was very cold in the month of october therefore a light cardigan will be perfect to keep warm. the resort provides complimentary tours with a selection of activities at your comfort and some tours are available also for a small fee. all the attractions needs to be booked at the reception lobby.

We stayed here this time for 3 nights. We had stayed here a couple of times before. The hotel maintains its hospitality, warmness and courtious reception of customers. It was quite easy to check in and out. The staff from front desk to housekeeping were friendlyand warm. There are little things that should be paid attention to such as the menu for breakfast.. Although the spread is good but there should be some variation/changes. Overall staying here you get value for your money.

In die Jahre gekommenes, grundsätzlich schönes Hotel. Leider lässt die Sauberkeit etwas zu wünschen übrig und an Details & Austattung mangelt es. Für Instagram Posts eignet sich die Unterkunft mit ihrem schönen Ausblick allerdings grandios. Lage ist ruhig und ziemlich abgelegen. Service ist sehr lieb und bemüht, obwohl die Kommunikation auf Englisch manchmal etwas holprig war. Insgesamt ein guter Aufenthalt, allerdings ist der Preis zu hoch.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 guests via trip.com with an additional request for rooms with a connecting door. In the trip.com app, we intentionally correctly filled all the guest details for each rooms. Upon checkin, the hotel’s front desk said they cant accommodate the connecting room request because they say it was booked under different names. Sadly they used this opportunity to argue with us, printing out in front of ourselves with their printer on the front desk: 2 separate reservations under different names (Maybe since we intentionally filled those guest names correctly? But the contact number and email is still the same, no?). From it we briefly saw all details like the 2 different reservations numbers they used as the crucial evidence, and how our booking was routed through ******* (From this detail one could argue the request was lost through the flawed trip.com system. Yet the hotel could’ve investigated and be more proactive after seeing a reservation for one room asking for connecting doors??). I thought hotel guests checking in at night only wanted rest, not attending trial??? Although to be fair in the end they got us 2 connecting rooms, albeit at a low floor (after the unnecessary bargaining). They required Rp200K as deposit. Room was clean, with a very useful Korean brand smart tv. Functional hair dryer, good lighting, with an in-room safe, and a small fridge/chiller. Breakfast could’ve been better, but there’s a lot of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We got valet parking but didn’t pay for it, was it complimentary because of the limited parking space this hotel has, or did we get it as compensation/goodwill, we never knew (this was not explained at check in).

Grand Sakura Hotel is an acceptable budget-friendly option in Medan, especially considering the price point, but the property is showing its age and could benefit greatly from renovations. The room was functional but extremely dated. Furnishings and fixtures feel old, and the overall atmosphere lacks the freshness that many travellers would expect today. The television is very basic, and several channels are blurry, making the in-room entertainment experience quite limited. One positive aspect is the lobby, which is well presented and has a pleasant scent, creating a good first impression upon arrival. Unfortunately, the experience doesn’t quite continue into other areas of the hotel. Breakfast was one of the weaker points of the stay. The selection was minimal, and there wasn’t anything particularly memorable or standout among the offerings. It gets the job done, but don’t expect much variety or quality compared to other hotels in the same category. The gym was also disappointing. It is essentially a very small room with around five pieces of equipment, several of which appeared to be broken or poorly maintained. Calling it a full fitness centre would be an overstatement. Overall, Grand Sakura Hotel offers reasonable value for money if you’re simply looking for an affordable place to stay in Medan. However, with some refurbishment and better maintenance of its facilities, the hotel could significantly improve the guest experience and better justify its position in the market.

Affordable basic room but clean enough ( some ants though). Location is central within 20min walking radius of major malls ( Plaza Medan Fair/Sun/Cambridge), Damri airport bus ( in front of Plaza Medan Fair), family massage/reflexology outlets (Jl.Orion), and the popular medan cakes outlets eg ”bika ambon” (Zulaikha)/”bolu” (Meranti). Car park is available with security. However, the complimentary breakfast is only set without selection option.
