Hace poco nos alojamos en un hotel cerca de las Grutas de Yongmen y tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa. La recepcionista, la Sra. El hotel es verdaderamente lujoso, con un ambiente de primera clase y un centro de convenciones en la planta baja. I went for the cheapest and most basic room, and it was very cheap! So whilst this review might seem negative here and there, it's merely a description of what I expected. Firstly, it was January and was unusually cold for Zhengzhou, having recently snowed and with sub-zero temperatures. So I expected the room to be cold, as heating isn't the norm in this part of China (as it is in the North). But the air con which one normally relies on, only blew cold air and for some reason wouldn't go above 17°C, so I turned it off. (pic) The room had windows, but was behind a facade and allowed in very little daylight. (pic is the daytime pic of the window without the room lights on). Instead of the Queen bed I expected, I had two very large singles, so I doubled up on the duvets and I was very warm whilst in bed. I found the small things annoying, like plastic slippers that hurt your feet (pic) that other people have worn; coat hangers in the bathroom but not even a nail in the door to hang your coat. I used a broken edge of the door to hang my coat(pic) . And two paper cups (no bottled water but the kettle worked well). And only one towel, albeit a large one. And the big gap all around door (pic) which let in smoking smells from other rooms, as well as the light from the hall. The pillows, and bedding were comfortable and clean. The hot water was hot (I didn't dare to shower because of the cold). The w/c functioned well, and although the beds were characteristically hard, I slept very well. There were better rooms free which they could have given me, but they chose to give me an inferior room, which I am reviewing. The TV worked but I couldn't get any channels on it. I've successfully used that type of TV before so I don't know what I was doing wrong. WiFi was good. The decor appeared 'grubby' but this is normal in China. Check-in was quick and OK. I booked a (free) lift to airport for the next morning, but when I turned up at the time agreed, there was nobody at reception, so I took the subway, which was adequate. I recommend it if you are on a budget. It was cheap. I'll try somewhere else next time. The location is great and there's an abundance of hotels in the area.

This location is heaven on earth. Surrounded by mountains that take on the form of Buddha. You sit right in the palm of a blessed spot. It is family owned and they treat you like family while you are there. By far some of the kindest people you will meet on your trip. Food is fantastic and homemade. There is a rooftop spot you can relax at, have tea, and even enjoy your meal there. The Shaolin temple is just a short walk from the hotel, and the owners will offer to drive you every time. Make sure to stay here if you are in the area. You will not regret it.

Me quedé impresionado desde el primer momento: la recepcionista tenía una sonrisa encantadora, el check-in fue rapidísimo (menos de dos minutos) e incluso se ofreció a ayudarme con el equipaje. La habitación fue aún más sorprendente: luminosa y espaciosa, la pantalla del proyector era nítida y no había ni una mota de polvo en las esquinas. La cama tenía la firmeza perfecta; anoche no tuve ni una sola pesadilla, ¡dormí profundamente! La ubicación también es muy práctica; la terminal de autobuses está a solo unos minutos a pie y hay muchos restaurantes buenos al oeste del hotel. No encontré ningún defecto; el servicio, la limpieza y las instalaciones fueron de primera. Sin duda, volveré a elegir este hotel la próxima vez, ¡y ya se lo he recomendado a mis amigos!

Heard Yang Yang was in Kaifeng. I specially drove over from Zhengzhou and booked a hotel room. Figuring a full day of sightseeing would be tiring and sweltering, there was no point heading back right away. Staying overnight lets me keep exploring tomorrow anyway, since the ticket’s valid for three days. I compared tons of places online, and this one’s fairly priced with a nice look. Just went ahead and booked it—take a chance if it’s not perfect. Dragged my tired self and family over to the hotel area. Traffic wasn’t bad today, otherwise parking would’ve been a hassle. Lucky there’s a free parking lot right here, no need to hunt for a spot. But surprisingly, there’s a charging station right opposite! Why didn’t the hotel mention it at all? I went to charge my car tonight. It’s a hybrid, but every bit saved counts. The hotel itself is solid and decent: clean, simple, with all the basic amenities you need. Pretty great! Checked out the next day fully recharged to keep having fun. Still out and about now, nowhere near heading home. Bored hiding in the bathroom right now, so I’m writing this review to recommend it. If it gets too late, I might even book another night here again.
