The Mary Arden Inn

Met up with friends for coffee and bite to eat as advertised on their website at lunchtime. No food only drinks from the bar. Still advertises cafe on the front of the inn. Very disappointed , I know I should have telephoned before travelling. Such a shame used to be such a delightful inn to visit.

Brilliant stay!! Friendly helpful staff and lovely locals. Comfortable room with all necessaries. Lovely walks for our pooch that she loved every day. Lots to explore in the vicinity. Pretty little village with canal side walks. Will definitely stay again!!

Were originally informed that the Pub was closed but upon arriving we could see it was open, decided to have a drink and lunch. Although there were only 5 people in the bar the service was very slow, food arrived in 25 minutes and was OK, but more staff are needed.

Made a booking to stay overnight, as I was working late and did not want to travel home. Received confirmation of booking and travelled to location, to be told that there were no rooms available! Ended up paying twice as much trying to find alternative accommodation at 9.30pm. Not happy.

Property was clean and staff lovely,but had no sleep at all very loud motor running all night outside our window on flat roof

This weekend stayed at the Mary Arden Friday toSunday.Ken the landlord looked after us even advised me where I could get a haircut in village 1st class proper pub with real fire dog friendly and 1st class service Thanks Nigel

Admittedly the cellar was flooded but it was also very tired, no shower curtain or fitting for head or toilet roll for example. Due to flooding (from storm) there was no bar/food or coffee area. It is handy for Stratford and Landlord was a lovely guy

Under new management. A friendly welcome. Folk nights and BBQS have bought the locals back to the pub to be the heart of the village. Real ales and a truly friendly welcome by the new manager. So much better than the miserable management previously. Hopefully much more to come.

I travel frequently to the local area for work, normal hotel was fully booked so booked with the Mary Arden instead. No warm welcome and feel like it’s too much hassle to make guests feel comfortable. Bedroom is very tired and in need of drastic overhaul. You will see photo of the mattress that is utterly disgusting and not acceptable! Looked at manufacture year and over 20years old, no mattress protector and so many filthy stains. The mattress springs are blown so it is painful to sleep and knowing sleeping in so much filth is no conducive to a good nights sleep. The tea / coffee option in the room looks like someone threw a handful of teabags onto a tray. The hot water is lukewarm and shower unit is damaged. Empty hotel issue shower bottle was empty. No attention to detail. For business trips would never use this hotel again.
