Nuestra habitación estaba decorada con gusto, un poco “estilo de Hamptons”, grandes camas cómodas y mientras el suite estaba en el lado pequeño, esto fue compensado con una ducha demasiado generosa - hablando 1.8m x 1m. Hemos golpeado un pequeño obstáculo con una fuga de agua de una tubería en el techo del baño, sin embargo, la gestión fue rápida y eficiente en su respuesta y no podía esperar mucho más. La única preocupación es que con su propia piscina, bar y restaurante a su puerta -me refiero a su puerta- usted puede no tener razón para salir y encontrar que se ha perdido en algunas de las vistas de Townsville. Nuestra habitación era de buena tamaño. En realidad se podía caminar por ahí. Baño de buena tamaño, pero la estrella del espectáculo era la cama y las galletas. La mejor cama rey de tamaño en un hotel que he encontrado. La lavandería y la cocina era muy conveniente. La ubicación central hizo las cosas fáciles.

La habitación está en el centro de la ciudad. La recepción nos hizo sentir como si fuera una inconveniente, aunque fue culpa del hotel por tener un aire acondicionado defectuoso. No se congeló ninguna de las cuatro habitaciones. Nos ofreció a los 2 fans de pedestal como si estuviéramos en un alojamiento de paquetes de retorno. El receptor que “ayudó” nos era muy rudo. Habíamos organizado un check-out tardío para las 12:00. El día de la salida, el mantenimiento de la casa y el mismo receptor con la actitud, siguió veniendo para molestarnos en la habitación alertandonos que fue el pasado check-out. El Wifi no funciona, por lo que mi marido tuvo que hacer un llamado caliente desde su teléfono a la televisión para acceder a los canales Netflix y Fox. El hotel está situado en el centro de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el centro de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el centro de la ciudad. La experiencia general ha dejado una mala impresión. El hotel está muy bien situado y tiene una gran capacidad para hacerlo. Definitivamente, toma tu dinero en otro lugar.

Mi padre y yo nos quedamos aquí el fin de semana del día de Anzac cuando volamos a ver el juego de Cowboys - el estadio es una piedra tirar, así que esto está en una gran ubicación. Un cambio en nuestro horario de vuelo original nos vio llegar a Townsville un par de horas antes de lo previsto, y tuvimos suerte de estar listos para acceder a nuestra habitación. The Mercure Townsville is a very comfortable hotel. The rooms are exactly what you'd expect at Mercure, comfy beds, all the necessities. The service is impeccable, and the food is to die for. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay... for the most part. The one downside for us, was the fact that at all hours of the day, sun up to sunset, the manager in place at this hotel deems it acceptable to run Sky News on every TV set around the bar and restaurant. Politics in public spaces is never a good idea. Extreme political bias in public spaces, is downright uncomfortable. Every night we sat there at dinner whilst the typical Sky News opinion piece headlines flashed all over the multiple TV screens throughout what is supposed to be a relaxing space. These headlines were loaded with such extreme (and I would go so far as to say hateful) political bias, that I do not even feel comfortable writing them here, or attaching pictures, for fear that my review may get rejected for the use of the words contained in them. Regardless of your own political standings, I’m sure that the vast majority of reasonable people can agree with me when I say that it is never appropriate to broadcast such a politically charged news station in what is supposed to be an all-inclusive, welcoming space. And let’s not conflate fact as opinion here, it IS an extremely biased, politically charged station, who’s owner is the subject of a royal commission campaign, and who has only very recently been taken to court in the U.S and forced to concede that his media empire knowingly lies. I’m not sure what management is trying to achieve by the all day broadcast of such a controversial station, but it has most definitely resulted in the loss of my own, and my family’s business. Very disappointing, as we otherwise would have been regulars. This has nothing to do with being a “left wing snowflake”. It has nothing to do with being “woke”. This has to do with wanting to go away on holiday and leave politics at home where it belongs. Now, to be fair, we did approach the manager about this situation before coming to the decision that we will not return. The response was entirely unacceptable and in our view, unprofessional. He told us that he did change the station after our last visit, but that the regulars at the hotel asked for it to be turned back onto Sky News, and so he did. So on our next visit to the hotel, there it was again. We approached the manager again regarding this, and his response to us was that “he can’t win”. He then told us that he will make a note to ensure the channel is changed when we visit. We found this utterly demeaning, condescending and, to be frank, insulting. He doubled down on the previous reasoning that the regulars ask for Sky News because, in his own words, “It is the most informative”. Sir, there is nothing informative about the headlines we witnessed on this station during our multiple visits. It is not news, it is political “discussion” loaded with extreme bias

Al principio de agosto de 2019, nos quedamos en el Hotel Allen por dos semanas. Encontrámos nuestra habitación limpia y cómoda. Nuestro balcón se vio a la calle Gregory. Gracias Carol, Kim y todos los demás por hacer nuestra estadía grande. Teníamos muchas comidas de ancianos en el Hotel Allen. La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, pero no hay una ubicación mejor en Townsville que este hotel. Durante nuestra estancia, se ha visto una exposición luminosa en el parque Queens y un festival de arte (con gran música) en el Strand.

Booked in on Friday 5/5/23 for a nights stay .. given card to open door, after several attempts & door not opening husband went to reception and was given another keycard.. opened door and walked in and within a few minutes realised room already occupied by someone rose.. they weren’t in room.. thankgod! Husband went to reception while I waited with bags.. given another room on Different floor away from the friends we’re were holidaying with.. after shower I was feeling quite anxious about being in someone else’s room so decided to go to reception to lodge a complaint .. was basically ignored and receptionist actually shrugged her shoulders. I told her I would be complaining to management and again she looked through me and just sort of shrugged again.. at no point did she apologise .. a sorry might have gone a long way?? I left there feeling I’d done something wrong.. I wouldn’t stay there ever again
