It was my third trip with my gf to this hotel and we loved it every single time. The food is amazing and the staff is incredibly kind, and the cocktails are diversified and delicious The only suggestion I could make to make the experience even better would be a nice espresso/coffee machine experience. Generally speaking, when they make a latte/capuccino or any other type of speciality coffee the foam Is not totally adequate and the milk used is a bit too sweet for Some reason. But this is just my personal preference! :) I would recommend this hotel to everybody that want to enjoy a quiet/romantic time with his/her partner

La comida, las experiencias y las vistas fueron increíbles, aunque el servicio estuvo bien. Asegúrate de reservar las experiencias con bastante antelación; nos perdimos la cena en los cenotes a pesar de haber reservado con un mes de antelación. Esta cena fue nuestra principal razón para elegir el hotel, pero el personal nos informó que no estaba disponible. Para empeorar las cosas, otra experiencia fue cancelada sin previo aviso, lo que nos hizo despertarnos innecesariamente temprano y arruinó nuestro día.

Standout was the unique rooms which are extremely private, spacious and beautifully designed along the lagoon. Personally I didn’t quite understand the ‘Butler’ concept and found some of the comms style a bit frustrating. The other standout was the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations. The property was decorated beautifully and very well organised. The opportunity to also participate was great as we felt emerged in the festivities. It would have been nice if the dinner package also included the face painting. More broadly the property is set within mayakoba so you can explore the grounds including the other hotels and it was fun to explore on the bikes. The only other thing to be aware off is also this is the more premium / exclusive hotel in mayakoba it’s still geared towards families or at least there where quite a few kids around. Finally don’t have high expectations of the beach it’s tiny and there isn’t much space. If you want high end luxury visit Maroma.

Hotel (Guillermo) nos resuelve el error con iniciativa, ¡lo cual es una muy buena movida! Permítanos disfrutar más del hermoso viaje. Los camareros del restaurante son muy amables y prestan atención a sus huéspedes, que es un servicio de cinco estrellas que esperábamos todo el tiempo. Gracias Walter por brindarnos una experiencia maravillosa. Además, el que nos ayudó a traer el equipaje al piso de abajo esta mañana, Axel estaba súper orientado a los detalles en el servicio, ¡¡persiguió nuestras necesidades !! ¡Se merecía más! Gracias por esos hermosos exp. ¡Tus colegas hicieron que nuestros viajes fueran fáciles y agradables!

Great Stay at Riu Playacar We enjoyed our stay at this clean, well-organized resort with spacious, quiet rooms (ours had no balcony, but it was fine). The minibar was a nice touch, and the bathroom was spotless. Highlights: ✔ Food variety – Multiple à-la-carte restaurants (dinner reservations not needed) and buffets with good lunch/breakfast options. ✔beach – Plenty of sunbeds but no umberalla so bring your sunscreen, though pools get crowded les sunbeds. ✔ Access to sister hotels – Party lovers can visit Riu Tequila’s club nearby. ✔ Convenient location – Mini-market across the street, and Playa del Carmen (5th Ave) is just a 150-peso taxi ride away. ✔ Easy airport transfer – ADO bus (250 pesos/person, 45-min ride + 5-min taxi 150 pesos next to ado turism station). Minor drawbacks: ✖ No elevators – Tough for guests with mobility issues. ✖ Entertainment hiccups – The host sometimes forgot to switch back to English after Spanish announcements. Perfect for: Travelers who want good value, variety, and proximity to Playa’s nightlife.

It was AMAZING! I had such a great time there! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. I made sure to eat and drink as much as possible, I think I ate too much! There is only a buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner at the restaurants. It's à la carte (if you paid for the package) and you can order as much food as you want. Mexican food for lunch and Italian or Mexican food for dinner (you have to book for dinner). I also love that the rooftop bar has unlimited great food for the whole day. The pool area was nice and so was the furniture. My room was huge and very spacious, I did not have the best view which didn't matter because I was upstairs on the rooftop for most of the time. They also stock the room fridge with soft drinks and beer which are unlimited. Each floor has a water cooler machine and an ice machine which was great when it came to refilling my water bottles. I think it's a great idea instead of the single use water bottles. I highly recommend staying here, my only regret was not staying here longer. I will be back in the future! 

Pros - the staff is all wonderful. The resort has been recently renovated so it’s in relatively good condition.  Cons - the food isn’t great… I would call it mediocre verging on poor. The a la carte restaurants weren’t great either and I would call the booking system/insane red tape process to visit the a la carte restaurants off putting, verging on insane.  I probably won’t be back for the above stated reasons, but I must reiterate that all of the service staff were truly lovely and no question the highlight of the trip.

Firstly El Beso is simply 1 building within the larger Ocean Rivera resort. Meaning only your building is Adults Only. Our Swim up room was lovely. We tried almost all if not all of the 10 restaurants and we had no complaints the food was good. Maybe not always amazing but never terrible. There’s like 3/4 different brands or levels of service within the larger resort. El Beso seems to be 1 level from the top which is Privilege we switched for an extra night & the mini bar for privilege was much better as well as having the butler service and priority restaurant bookings when they were all booked. There’s also a special restaurant only for privilege that was great but none of the restaurants were extremely crowded. There’s an app or webpage that works like an app with all of the resort info and you can book reservations there. There’s also lots of entertainment nightly. It’s definitely a place to go and stay there’s no need to venture outside of the resort there’s so many things to do schedules are packed for all of the different areas & a bowling alley and theater. There is not much near by the tourist area is maybe 20 mins away by car down the beach.

Gran complejo con varias piscinas y opciones para comer, aunque algunas comodidades no están disponibles debido a la covid. Personal generalmente servicial y amable, un caballero en el conserje no fue el mejor, ¡pero el gerente fue genial! La playa tenía mucho espacio, lugares para sentarse y personal disponible para el servicio de bebidas. En general, es un buen lugar para alojarse.

Es muy emocionante y puedes ir directamente al parque a jugar. Tanto adultos como niños se lo pasaron genial. El ambiente es muy bueno, el servicio está en el lugar y las instalaciones completas. Volveré la próxima vez que tenga la oportunidad.
