Hoteles cerca de Puerta Aúrea, Split

This is an intimate 5-room establishment situated amidst the alleys of the Old Town, hence cars cannot drop passengers at the doorstep. Easy enough to catch a shuttle bus for EUR 8 from the airport to the bus station at the port, from which a Makarun staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage to the hotel, a 10-minute walk away. Breakfast is a la carte, as is to be expected for such a small establishment, comprising 3 courses - pastry/toast, eggs of your choice with cold cuts, and a dessert, complemented by tea coffee and/or juice. Food was more than adequate in terms of quantity and quality. My room was comfortable enough, though 2 issues were noticeable: * Instead of a flat cotton bed sheet, there was a fitted sheet made of what seemed like jersey, and looked more like a mattress protector.This was pilled and coarse, in contrast to the far smoother cotton quilt cover. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they explained that this is standard for the hotel. Whilst it did not affect the quality of my sleep, the coarseness of the sheet wasn't entirely pleasant * In the bathroom, the shower was mounted at waist height, hence one either had to hold the shower in one hand, or, if there was a need to use both hands to wash, then one would have to crouch under the shower while it was in its holder. Not particularly convenient. Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location, enhanced by the friendly and solicitous Ivan and Mario.

Buena ubicación en la zona del palacio, pero puede ser un poco confuso porque el hotel tiene varios anexos a un par de minutos a pie. Además, puede ser difícil encontrar la ubicación del anexo, ya que el que me alojé, llamado Villa Donbric, no se encontraba en Google Maps. Además, como teníamos un par de maletas grandes, buscamos un hotel con ascensor, pero el anexo en el que me alojé no lo tenía. (No estoy seguro de si el otro anexo lo tiene o no). La habitación es más pequeña de lo que esperaba y se hace un poco desordenado al abrir dos maletas juntas. Por lo demás, es un lugar acogedor con un personal muy atento. El desayuno está bien servido y ofrece diferentes opciones de huevos. Recomiendo prestar especial atención a la ubicación y al equipaje al reservar el hotel. También recomiendo reservar el servicio de recogida opcional.

This was a rushed booking due to our original hotel not having our booking. Normally I spend considerable time going through reviews etc, but with the Azur Palace (hotel?) it was a case of needs must. Unfortunately although we had booked a deluxe double in our opinion it didn’t match similar 4 star hotel deluxe rooms. I mentioned this to reception but they weren’t really interested. Appreciate we were virtually in the centre of split, with space at a premium, but the view of a small alley with graffiti an empty minibar, not even plugged in, an irritating dim light, I think from the a/c that ensured the room wasn’t completely dark. After trying to close it down without success I went to reception, which had a note with a phone number to call. I gave up went back to the room and tried throwing a towel over it. Also no bar, although there are a few within couple of minutes. Overall disappointing.

This is a self check in hotel. The hotel staff gives you all the instructions to get the key. I was fortunate to arrive at 3 pm and met the person in charge of the hotel. She explained to me everything. During summer if you open the window the AC stops working. So you basically stay with the windows closed or feel the heat with open windows. The breakfast was okay. The crepes were SO big for 1 person. The omelet was good size too. The room is big. There is security box and fridge. Let's mention the bad things: you need to go up to your room and bring your suitcase sometimes to the 3rd floor. The toilet was big but it had a strong smell. The soap for hands was so strong. Very strong smell. Why do you use that soap?. You need to change this (just saying...) . There is a bar in the 1st floor that belongs to the hotel. There was a football match and a person turned on the volume of the TV so loud at 11 pm. I had to go downstairs to tell the staff I had to sleep. Expensive accommodation but what do you expect from Split?

The hotel is near the church and the bayside. It is near the stores as well but then it is quite hard to find at first and quite hard to get there when you have so many luggages coz the car cannot access inside coz it is inside a small street. The room have a beautiful view as well and it smells so good (but it’s too strong though). Somehow it is clean yet I saw a small cockroach. The wifi cannot reach our room as well even if our room is only in the first floor. Overall it was okay. The bed is so comfy and the pillows. But the blanket is so weird coz it is supposed to be a big one for 1 big bed and for couples, but then the blanket is two small ones and they are separated. I find it weird but it’s okay. And also the mirror, i don’t like when the mirror is reflective in the bed. For fengshui it is not healthy coz it will make you sick. But overall, the hotel is good and the price is quite pricey though. The pool is just okay.

Хорошая локация, близко до старого города, отличная современная ванна. Очень плохой интернет, невозможно работать удаленно. Несколько раз писал хозяину, один день полностью игнорировал меня, на второй ответил что придет специалист и наладит, но интернет лучше ратовать не стал. Очень мягкий и неудобный матрас и еще куча муравьев в номере. Есть бесплатная парковка вдоль улицы, где расположены апартаменты.

The 4-star rating of this hotel is definitely not justified. The receptionist who speaks Croatian was extremely kind and helpful, and she deserves all the praise. The room is beautiful, just like in the pictures. However, there were not enough towels in the room, and there was no shower gel or lotion. When we asked for them, they were not provided – it’s hard to imagine a 4-star hotel lacking basic amenities. The hairdryer was broken, and when we requested a replacement, none was provided. The other receptionist does not speak Croatian at all, which is unimaginable and very disappointing.
