We were a group of 10 with overland Camper vans & camped in quaint 'Shanty City' with donkey fired showers - if you equipped to camp without electricity supply - its a stunning camp.

We stayed five nights in one of the two SC Chalets and enjoyed every minute. The dinner was amazing, the room spacious and well equipped. The SC Chalet is a place, where you can stay even two weeks. Wifi is working well everywhere. Janko, the manager is very nice and Frikkie, the owner very friendly and helpful. There is really nothing to complain....you can see it in the comments! Hope to return and to stayeven longer.

Lithops, and railway history, lots to see at Alte Kalkofen. South central, ideally located to see Southern Namibia, Fish River Canyon, Luderitz, Aus, Bethanie & Helmering. Or gateway to Namib Desert. Ideal stopover from RSA. Excellent food, good wine selection. Attention to detail. The value of owner management is often missed.

what a gem in a beautiful setting. Lovely pool and area is stunning. We camped overnight but had a light meal in the evening which was totally delicious. would recommend staying here if passing through.

True Namibian farm style hospitality right in the desert. Beautiful setting with spectacular sunset. Friendly staff and delicious food! Frikkie, the owner was very frienfly and even served us on the evening. The nursery was amazing! We loved our stay!

The hosts and the whole team gave us such a warm welcome and gave there time & heart. So it was such an outstanding Chris**as there! We will never forget!! Thank you so much!! The farm is so nicely decorated and every detail is precious.

Alte Kalkoefen is a very special place, from the position, the history, the people... We loved the design & decoration - very much in context, very serene and ideal for a longer stay. The dinners were some of the best of our trip and on our last morning we had the sunrise breakfast on an outcrop overlooking the valley - we even saw three little foxes frolicking right below us! The Lithops collection is an absolute highlight - with Hilde's expert guidance. One can feel the love Frikkie & Hilde invest in this remote farm, it is a place to return to!

Very friendly host, thank you, excellent kitchen and nice, clean and simple rooms. A must, if you look for a accomodation.And if you are interrested in lithops you will find an astonishing exhibition.
