Villa Nicolli Romantic Resort - Adults Only

I have tried to be fair in this review This was 2nd visit to Riva and my first to this hotel I had read the many excellent reviews and looked forward to my holiday On arrival - coach dropped us at the bottom of the drive in pouring rain to walk to the hotel - informed coach was to big ??? The hotel is in a residential area and fair walk to bars /restaurants nearby Reception/Receptionist Very open and new area met by Silvia who was helpful pleasant and was helpful throughout our stay and was good example for this hotel On arrival she gave me a envelope with a letter re the the hotel our bags were taken to our room The letter gave us times for meals - general hotel rules Including not you using fridge The hotel appears to have 1 small lift Room - quite a big room very clean 🧼 Comfortable bed -good storage hangers etc and coat hooks Bathroom small shower cubicle but fine Smart Tv - great for u tube - 2 English speaking channels news france 24 and Bloomberg and that’s it unless your German speaking apparently they’re all free to the hotel and they didn’t want to pay for English speaking channels even though a good percentage were English speaking guests Tea and coffee provided though no milk ? Bought our own as apparently Italians don’t have tea or milk only English Irish and Scot’s Room safe free - though on arrival it didn’t appear to work I asked at reception different staff came to the room (blamed me ) though still couldn’t resolve it - they did when we went for lunch then showed me how to work the safe exactly as I’d done (patronising) Room kept clean and towels changed regularly You cannot use the room fridge for any personal items as they says it is for a mini bar only Restaurant- I read some great reviews about how the food was - disappointed No 🥗 bar 4 courses choose on the evening select 1 from 4 - starter , Primo - main desert Over the period I was there a mixed bag of good and bad examples over cooked fish - bland taste small portions- pre prepared frozen . Pasta dishes fab Service a little hit a miss lots of walking around little disorganisation or in efficiency guests seem being left unable to order poor service and bordering rude . I requested a salad on 2 different occasions .i m still waiting I have to mention the cheese board desert which was the worst I have ever had it looked like someone’s left overs Whilst I did witness staff trying to be helpful and it’s hard managing so many different tastes Breakfast on the other had had a good selection of continental offerings and a choice of omelettes-scrambled egg or 2 eggs and bacon though it appeared you could not divert from this or you waited prolonged periods for choices Lunch is available- €18 euros club sandwich local price €12 Bar - is very bright and cheerful with modern decor most uncomfortable seating ever (style ) priced at at a least 30% higher than anywhere else locally good service but it was always empty I wonder why Aperol spritz €

This hotel was better than most 5 star properties. No detail was missed from deluxe suite with balcony overlooking vineyards, impeccably clean, most attentive staff, amazing breakfast and dinner at their restaurant, and the town on Lake Garda in the mountains has stunning beauty.

Excellent staff at front desk and restaurant.
