I found Chez Georges after searching for boutique Hotels in Rio and this gem looked amazing. With the history and interesting design interior and architecture, I decided to book. As normal, I book stays direct with the Hotel, so it is easier to change bookings and also save them for agent fees. When I booked, I used my creditcard details to secure the booking. On their own booking page. Then I tried to organise a event with my customers in Rio, and the feedback I got was that this could be arranged in a good way, but I need to pay for my room by wire transfer or paypal first. That was a surprise, since I have already secured the booking with my card. I do not want tu use wire transfer and paypal is not accepting my creditcard brand. Then I followed up with calling Chez Georges over 5 days, at the same time, sending an email every second day. No-one picked up the phone or answered my emails. I am arriving in Rio tomorrow, and I booked another boutique Hotel today - in which immediately dedicated one of their staff on whatsapp, to answer any questions and give recommentions. That is without any requests from me. So disappointed about the the "service" and "follow-ups" from Chez Georges. Either they are about to go bankrupt or have no respect for their customers. Due to their great designs, history and architecture, I gave two stars instead of one.
