He arranged our visit to the magnificent 振成楼 (Zhencheng Lou, the ”Prince of Tulou”), with Mother sharing fascinating stories about its history that you won't find in guidebooks. But where this family truly shines is in their genuine care. As overseas visitors, we were completely unfamiliar with local transportation and booking systems for our next destination. The Son sat down with us, helped us navigate the Chinese online systems, booked our train tickets, and gave us detailed instructions for the rest of our journey. He spent a significant amount of his own time to ensure we were set up for success, which was a gesture we will never forget. The homestay itself is a wonderful experience. Hotel was in a great location, with a nice view of Guanzhai mountain out the front. Breakfast was very basic but did the job. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking too. On the downside the room was a bit dated but most creepily there was a set of fake eyelashes stuck to the wall - a bit disturbing - so can’t say it’s the cleanest.

Very friendly staff and a large clean room. I was given unlimited water which was nice as I was there for a race. There is a yearly Guang Zhou Shan marathon which I was there for and this is the perfect spot as it's just 5mins walk to the race pack collection and starting line the next morning

Driver was rude, making decisions where to go and when to go on his own against agreement with the hotel owner, non-communicative, escalated the conflict in the end and dropped me off far from railway station.
