A serene and charming inn in a lovely village. We stayed 3 nights but most people stay 1 or 2. Needless to say, the tulou are incredible. The proprietor, a 26th generation local, is very helpful and responsive. He gave us a map of the village, explained the ”rules” of self-guided tulou tours (e.g., if the front door is open, you may go in and look around the ground floor), and arranged a driver and itinerary during our stay. He could predict our needs, wasn't pushy at all, and made us feel welcome. Fair prices. The inn itself is in a tulou, so expect stairs and people walking through the courtyard. It is in the countryside (think chickens in the AM); we enjoyed the slow pace and quiet evenings. Delicious homestyle local food cooked by the proprietor's sweet mother. Eastern and Western breakfast, coffee available. Laundry and detergent, too. A memorable stay for our family of five. Exactly what we had hoped it would be

The landlady is very friendly and she took good care of my elderly parents. She also sent us back and forth from the bnb to the tourist attraction place, from the evening we arrived till the next morning right before we went to our nx stop. She brought us to the world's smallest tulou and saw a tulou with 三公六院. We were treated with a hearty and typical Chinese style of breakfast.

This small hotel is located at the edge of the old town and within and is within easy walking distance of everywhere except the high-speed railway station. Lots and lots of shops and places selling all manner of food literally at the doorstep of the hotel. Shortly after checking in they thoughtfully sent me one document introducing some of the local delicacies and another one introducing the major attractions of the area, including the delightful mountain village of Dingwu Ling, that wasn't on my itinerary, but turned out to be the highlight of the entire trip. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout my short stay here.

I came here alone and was so captivated by the charm of this place that I stayed for two days. A neighbor who was like an older sister to me here took me to the observatory. Everyone helped me and they were so kind. I was very lucky to be able to stay at the Chengqi Tower. I want to express my respect for the greatness of the Hakka people. I am leaving after receiving such a valuable experience and emotion. I hope everyone here will be blessed with good luck. *Boss. Everything was good until taxi service provided by accommodation. Driver was rude, making decisions where to go and when to go on his own against agreement with the hotel owner, non-communicative, escalated the conflict in the end and dropped me off far from railway station. Was supposed to drive me around for 4 hours, instead only 2.5, that including all the time wasted on disputes. As a result I didn't see what I wanted to see and both of us got angry. I paid him less, but I don't think he deserves money at all because of his attitude and the fact that I didn't get the service I wanted.
