Consider it a happy little accident. I had missed my flight home because of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade and was stuck an extra day on Oahu. I looked to see what was the cheapest hotel room available and the Ka La’i popped up which surprised me. Booked the room quick because the Honolulu Marathon was the following day and almost every hotel was sold out. I got an ocean view suite with a King bed as my room and loved it. Bathroom was amazing, bed was super comfortable and overall the suite was spacious. Although it had a kitchen it didn’t have a dedicated dining table, even a small one. Only thing in the sitting area was a glass coffee table that was long enough for my needs of just a late night pizza dinner. Staff was helpful and even as I was checking out, I casually asked if I could tour the Penthouse suite because I had always wanted to book it. The 2 front desk workers escorted me to the Penthouse and gave me a little tour. It was impressive. Definitely would stay there again soon.

We stayed at this hotel from October 29 to November 4. Overall, the staff was polite and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided — which we appreciated. However, several issues significantly affected our experience. First, the accessible bathroom we specifically booked did not match the photos. There was no handheld shower head, which was important for us. Second, the mirror in the hallway was noticeably dirty upon arrival, with visible streaks from a wet cloth — quite unpleasant for a hotel of this level. I also reported that the faucet in the sink splashed water everywhere, soaking the countertop and the floor. I was told the issue would be checked, but nothing was fixed throughout our stay. The two-faucet system used to regulate water in the bathroom was also very inconvenient, and we consistently had problems with unstable hot water pressure. A separate major issue was the parking. I prepaid and reserved parking for 5 days, but on the second evening all the spots were already taken, and I was simply instructed to park in a different building nearby. This was extremely inconvenient — having to carry things from the 3rd floor of another parking structure and waste additional time. It turned out that even if you pay in advance, your parking spot is not guaranteed — anyone from outside can take it. So you pay, but end up without the service you were promised. Overall, the staff tried to provide good service, but the organizational issues, maintenance problems, and poorly managed parking system seriously reduced our comfort. Unfortunately, after this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Normalmente reservo en el Marriott que está cerca cuando voy a Waikiki, pero esta vez decidí probar el Hyatt; además, era un poco más barato que el Marriott el día que fui. Me dieron una habitación King con vista a la ciudad en el séptimo piso. La habitación era grande, limpia y estaba en una de las esquinas de la torre, por lo que tenía una distribución curva. En general, la habitación estaba limpia, la cama era cómoda y el aire acondicionado funcionaba bien. Mi única queja fue en el baño: no había champú, acondicionador ni gel de ducha en la bañera, como en otros hoteles. No puedo opinar mucho sobre el servicio, ya que solo estuve allí un día, pero los empleados con los que interactué fueron amables y serviciales. Sin duda, me volvería a alojar allí.

Hands down, this hotel is all about location, convenience, and comfort. If you want to be right in the middle of all the Waikīkī buzz, this is it. You’re just minutes from Waikīkī Beach and within easy walking distance to International Market Place, Royal Hawaiian Center, countless restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores. Everything is so accessible that you can explore easily on foot. The rooms feel fresh and newly renovated, with a modern island-chic style. Clean, bright, and comfortable — not ultra-luxury, but definitely more than sufficient for a relaxing stay. Perfect if you want the essentials done well without paying for full resort-style extras. You’re surrounded by food options — poke, shave ice, smoothie spots, breakfast cafés, and nicer dinner restaurants. Convenience stores are just steps away, making it easy to grab essentials without needing transport. If you value prime location, walkability, renovated rooms, an outdoor pool, a gym, and solid value over ultra-luxe amenities, this hotel is a great choice.

La tarifa de estacionamiento es de $70 por noche. Lo mejor es aparcar donde está mi dedo. No está lejos del hotel. Allí cuesta 1 dólar la hora. Además, me encontré con el problema de los cobros excesivos. La orden original mencionaba que debía pagar 65 dólares por noche en el hotel, pero durante los dos días de mi estadía, inexplicablemente me cobraron 65 dólares extra por día. Me estoy comunicando con el servicio de atención al cliente de Ctrip y esperando la respuesta del hotel. Además, debes asegurarte de comprobar cuidadosamente el tipo de habitación del hotel al realizar un pedido. Es un Hilton Resort y poseen 4 o 5 edificios en total, pero es difícil distinguirlo y no está indicado en la página de pedidos. Al principio pensé que era sólo una diferencia de orientación e instalaciones. Todo lo demás estuvo bien. La habitación era cómoda, limpia y espaciosa. Aunque no hablaba el idioma al momento del check in, la otra parte fue muy paciente al traducir para mí.

À part le bruit de la ville, tout était bien. Une cafetière et du thé dans la chambre aurait été un plus. Le personnel est très sympathique et vraiment serviable. Je recommande cet établissement. Patrick

El servicio del personal fue excelente. Llevábamos una maleta grande que no necesitábamos para pasar la noche. El personal se ofreció, sin que se lo pidiéramos, a guardarla en su área segura durante la noche. El servicio de transporte nos recogió puntualmente. Las instalaciones son algo antiguas, pero están bien cuidadas.

Era una habitación con vistas a la cabeza de diamante y al mar. Estaba un poco preocupado por la altura porque quería una vista despejada del mar, pero estaba satisfecho con el Lanai que dominaba los dos sin ningún problema. Es viejo en su conjunto, la bañera es vieja y se necesita tiempo para obtener agua caliente.

Fue el hotel más barato de Honolulu por 170 $ la noche. La habitación estaba limpia y tenía todo lo necesario. Si en una ciudad normal se pudiera decir que el precio de un lugar así debería ser de 30 $, pero Hawái es Hawái. Recomiendo este hotel, pero no lo recomiendo para visitar Hawái; hay lugares mucho mejores por menos dinero en el mundo.

Excellent location for the price. Hotel is mid but I got a real good deal out of it so not gonna complain. Great view if you get one of the upper floors
