Consider it a happy little accident. I had missed my flight home because of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade and was stuck an extra day on Oahu. I looked to see what was the cheapest hotel room available and the Ka La’i popped up which surprised me. Booked the room quick because the Honolulu Marathon was the following day and almost every hotel was sold out. I got an ocean view suite with a King bed as my room and loved it. Bathroom was amazing, bed was super comfortable and overall the suite was spacious. Although it had a kitchen it didn’t have a dedicated dining table, even a small one. Only thing in the sitting area was a glass coffee table that was long enough for my needs of just a late night pizza dinner. Staff was helpful and even as I was checking out, I casually asked if I could tour the Penthouse suite because I had always wanted to book it. The 2 front desk workers escorted me to the Penthouse and gave me a little tour. It was impressive. Definitely would stay there again soon.

A pocos minutos a pie de la playa de Waikiki, solo ofrecen servicio de aparcacoches, no hay aparcamiento propio. En las inmediaciones encontrará una gran variedad de restaurantes.

We had a glitch with checking in on arrival but after they sorted this and compensated us for the mess up i couldn't fault this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The position is perfect as are the phenomenal views. We had an ocean view so sat on our balcony every night to watch beautiful Waikiki sunsets We were provided access to the longboard room which provided a great breakfast and in the evenings drinks cheese and dips snacks and pasta the service here was fantastic Amenities are fantastic. Great gym and included yoga and plates sessions. Activities also available but we ran out of time for this I highly recommend this amazing resort

En general, la habitación está relativamente limpia y la ubicación está a solo 5 minutos a pie del centro comercial y de la playa de Waikiki. El precio es muy bueno en Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. Pero he escrito algunas de mis experiencias con el servicio, para que todos puedan intentar evitar comunicarse con este camarero cuando vayan a un hotel en el futuro. Mi amigo y yo nos registramos en este hotel el 30 de enero. Como acababa de ser renovado, nos sentimos un poco sofocantes en la habitación 20 minutos después de entrar. Decidimos no molestarnos con eso solo por una noche y planeamos dormir con la puerta del balcón abierta por la noche para ventilar. Resultó que la puerta del balcón estaba rota, así que fuimos a recepción para informar la situación y ver si podíamos cambiarnos a otra habitación. Como resultado, la camarera estaba muy impaciente. Nuestro inglés hablado no era muy bueno y ella decía mucho inglés, pero no lo entendíamos. Ella puso los ojos en blanco y dijo muy seria: ”Algo, algo chino”, lo que nos hizo sentir muy incómodos a ambos. En ese momento pensé que como estaba viajando en un país extranjero y mi inglés no era bueno, debería aguantarlo. Pero cuando dos extranjeros vinieron detrás de nosotros, el camarero inmediatamente los saludó con una sonrisa y les preguntó sobre su situación. En la siguiente experiencia, los demás miembros del personal de servicio se mostraron muy entusiasmados, sólo esta señora tomó una foto. Merece la pena alojarse en el hotel, pero no se debe pedir a esta persona que se registre, para no afectar el buen humor de las vacaciones...

El hotel ha sido renovado por nuevos propietarios en los últimos años. La zona de la piscina ahora está mejor mantenida y cuenta con personal dedicado que está presente en todo momento. La piscina es grande y está bien ubicada. Lo que la distingue es la sombra que proporcionan las numerosas sombrillas y algunos árboles. También hay servicio de bar y comida en su tumbona. Las habitaciones son de tamaño mediano, adecuadas para dos personas, y tienen una terraza amplia. Las camas son cómodas con muchas almohadas. El baño es compacto con ducha sobre la bañera. La iluminación de la habitación es regulable y hay un hervidor de agua disponible bajo petición. Se proporciona una caja fuerte. Una crítica sería el pequeño refrigerador: 6 latas, un envase de leche y un par de yogures, y poco más. Este es el mejor hotel económico en Waikiki, pero lamentablemente, lo económico todavía no es barato hoy en día. En general, una estancia agradable, con el personal de la piscina como la guinda del pastel.

1) The escalator leading from the lobby to the mezzanine level was out of order. Given the makeshift barrier on the mezzanine level, it looked like the escalator had been out of commission for some time. Quite a shame from a convenience standpoint. 2) I had checked into the hotel after midnight because of a flight delay so I was pretty exhausted and fell asleep quickly after taking a shower, brushing my teeth, etc. I woke up in the middle of my first night's stay noticing a foul odor. After walking around the room and initially thinking it was coming from the A/C vent, I pinpointed the origin of the bad smell to the linens: the pillowcases, sheets, blanket. It smelled like a dirty wet sponge or clothes that never dried completely but were put back in the dresser drawer. I pulled all of the linens off the bed and left a note for housekeeping to replace them because of a foul odor. They did and it was fine the rest of my stay, but the point is I never should have had to do that. 3) Upon returning from my uncle's funeral Saturday night, to my dismay I found 20-30 cars that had been double-parked by the valets in the hotel parking lot. After circling the lot several times in the hopes of catching someone leaving but having no success, I decided to look into valet parking, figuring that since I was a hotel guest they would have something worked out. When the valet told me the valet fee was $49 even for hotel guests I was flabbergasted and declined. He instructed me to go back to the parking garage and speak to the parking attendant to ask about my parking options. When I got there, the parking attendant initially refused to come out of his booth to help me so I had to enter the garage, go all the way around to the exit and talk to him so that he didn't have to leave his booth. He pointed at a white car parked outside and told me to look for parking ”around there.” I asked him if that was assigned to the hotel, because I did not want to wake up tomorrow morning to discover that my rental car had been towed or impounded. He did not convince me that this was not a possibility so I parked the car where he instructed me to, took photos of the area, and went to the hotel registration desk to look further into the parking situation. The signage was also not clear. When I got to the registration desk, I was helped by an employee who seemed to have a French accent. He was definitely European, with very short hair. I explained what had just happened with the parking and he told me that the hotel did not have ”jurisdiction” over that parking area and he could not guarantee me that my car would not be towed. There happened to be another employee, a local guy, just finishing a transaction with a hotel guest so I moved one station over and asked him the same question. He clarified the situation and explained that that outside parking area (in the middle, under the ramp) was overflow parking for the hotel, and, as long as my hotel parking pass was clearly displayed, my car could remain there for the duration of my stay.

Outstanding service from the moment we arrived at the front entrance. Friendly, knowledgeable staff were able to answer all of our questions and accommodate all our requests. Room was nicely appointed and generously sized with ample room in the walk-in closet for our 8 full-sized checked bags (we stopped through HI in the middle of a move 🙂). Had two double beds and a hid-a-bed which was perfect for our family of four. The small refrigerator in the room was just the right size for water bottles and some snack/breakfast food we picked up at the Target just across the street. Appreciated being able to check out fresh beach towels pool-side each day. That saved a lot of suitcase space. The balcony was just large enough for a small table and two chairs to catch a great view of the ocean. The hotel is located between prime beachfront on the one side and the International Marketplace on the other, everything you need is within easy walking distance. The kids enjoyed the beginner surf lessons available beachside through Faith Surf Academy, and being able to rent a board to continue surfing over subsequent days. Waves were perfect for beginners and despite there being a fair number of other visitors, there was plenty of room to swim, play, and enjoy the water, though space on the beach itself was a bit tight at times. The one shortcoming we experienced was there not being any self-service laundry on-site. It seems there used to be, but it's unavailable with the current renovation project underway, and I'm unsure whether they intend for it to be part of the updated plan or not. Paid laundry service is available, but we opted to walk down the road to a laundromat. All in all, the whole family enjoyed our time at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and would recommend it.

La orden original mencionaba que debía pagar 65 dólares por noche en el hotel, pero durante los dos días de mi estadía, inexplicablemente me cobraron 65 dólares extra por día. Además, debes asegurarte de comprobar cuidadosamente el tipo de habitación del hotel al realizar un pedido. Es un Hilton Resort y poseen 4 o 5 edificios en total, pero es difícil distinguirlo y no está indicado en la página de pedidos. Al principio pensé que era sólo una diferencia de orientación e instalaciones. Todo lo demás estuvo bien. La habitación era cómoda, limpia y espaciosa. Aunque no hablaba el idioma al momento del check in, la otra parte fue muy paciente al traducir para mí.

El servicio del personal fue excelente. Llevábamos una maleta grande que no necesitábamos para pasar la noche. El personal se ofreció, sin que se lo pidiéramos, a guardarla en su área segura durante la noche. El servicio de transporte nos recogió puntualmente. Las instalaciones son algo antiguas, pero están bien cuidadas.

La habitación era muy limpia, pero la habitación era muy limpia, y la habitación era muy limpia. El lugar está situado en una ubicación central, cerca de la playa en Waikiki, con una asociación con tiendas de playa para equipos de playa, así como GoPros, pantalla solar, loción, etc. que se puede prestar, incluido en el precio del resort. No obstante, la edad del hotel está empezando a mostrarse, necesita no sólo un toque, sino una revisión cuando sea posible.
