This is the best hotel in Kurokawa! 1. Stuff is kindly meet you, explain everything and help as well as it possible. 2. Ryokan has 6(!) private bathes with different style. No extra payment,, no reservation. You can available status on your TV. During my staying there was at least one ready for use, no time all of them was using. 3. Water. Just perfect, has a right temperature and composition. Just put yourself into the bath and feel relaxed just since that second. 4. Rooms. Clean and fresh. 5. Open-air bath is cool to, for me a bit too hot. And I was the only one who use it during the dinner time. 6. I had only breakfast, but it is service in private room in dinner hall. Very delicious with various of dishes. 7. The hotel located at two sides of the river. Travelers could enjoy a scenic view from the bridge.

Останавливался на одни сутки в середине мая 2025г. Этот новый отель в традиционном стиле предназначен для уединений и спокойного отдыха. Абсолютная приватность, даже за завтраком вы ни с кем не пересекаетесь, вас обслуживает в приватной зоне ваш собственный официант. Была дождливая погода, поэтому я все время провел в отеле. Стильный огромный номер с большим собственным онсеном, из которого не хочется вылезать. Огромный телевизор с хорошим звуком и youtube, что в японских отелях есть далеко не всегда. Быстрый wifi. Завтрак-кайсеки очень вкусный, такой вкусный, что я съел бы еще такой же. Отель находится в деревне, сильно в стороне от поселка Курокава и автобусного терминала. Магазина в деревне нет, там вообще ничего нет. От автобусного терминала до отеля можно дойти пешком за 30мин только если у вас один рюкзак. Между отелем и автобусным терминалом очень редко ходит местный автобус. Зато утром, после завтрака, из отеля до Курокава идет бесплатный шатл.

An absolutely wonderful experience.
The staff at the ryokan were incredibly polite and always ready to help with anything we needed. Upon check-in, we were provided with traditional attire, pajamas, tabi slippers, bath amenities, and a small welcome treat with matcha and coffee. We also asked at the front desk if they could give us a ride to the bus stop after check-out, and they kindly said yes, of course. 
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. At first, we were planning to explore several other local onsens, but after experiencing the ones at the ryokan, we felt completely satisfied. There are separate baths for hotel guests (men’s and women’s), baths open to both guests and visitors (also divided by gender), as well as a private onsen. One of the onsens also has a sauna.
The traditional dinner and breakfast were both impressive—delicious and very generous in portion.
The surrounding grounds are stunning, perfect for peaceful walks. This ryokan is a bit further from the main cluster of inns, but that was exactly what we wanted—to enjoy quiet walking.
At night, our futons were laid out for us, adding to the authentic experience. The only reason I deducted one star is the very bright green light on the ceiling that stays on all night and can’t be turned off or covered. I didn’t have a sleep mask with me, and the ryokan didn’t provide one, so I had a sleepless night. It was quite unpleasant.
That said, I still highly recommend this ryokan—it’s an unforgettable place to stay.

Medio ambiente: En la parte más interna de Kurokawa Hot Spring, es muy tranquilo; Higiene: limpio y ordenado; Instalaciones: Hay tres baños familiares (reserva gratuita), entre los cuales el baño de cubo de seis pies es el más hermoso, hay dos baños públicos al aire libre con poca gente, para que puedas disfrutar de las aguas termales del bosque ~; Comida: relativamente simple, no muy satisfactoria. Servicio: Todo estuvo bien excepto que se olvidaron de recogernos en la estación el día de llegada.

El servicio era increíble, y todo el lugar era muy limpio. La casa de baño pública acaba de renovarse y es muy espaciosa. La cena y el desayuno fueron increíbles como el sashimi era fresco. Volveré aquí cuando vuelvo a Aso.

Pros- spacious villa, quality bedding and large private indoor onsen( see picture 13). We also like the public outdoor onsen in the sister ryokan nearby. There is a little cafe there you can buy drinks and coffee, run by an adorable old couple, very nice and polite. We spent a lot of time there just chilling and listening to the music. Cons- Living room: we were only able to book the western style villa as it’s a little last minute trip. The living room is basic, bland, with sofa, instead or tatami. Our room 512 is next to the car park. Parking lot in front of your main door is not very pleasant. Food : just soso. Nothing extraordinary. See picture. No horse sashimi, the presentation of the steak is really ordinary - disappointing. Perhaps because we had such an amazing meals in the previous ryokan this became a massive letdown. Dinner served in a large public dining room, lack of the privacy and intimacy ther ryokan provide ( we had private dining room in another ryokan 野之花during this trip). I got to see other couples but also feeling like we are being watched. Service- served by young people, not much attentiveness you would expect in traditional ryokan, lack of the warmth and ritual. Reception- 3 star at best. A basic room with uncomfortable chair while you wait to be checked in. We arrived around 2:30pm, and was told that check in can only start at 3pm, and please wait. So we sat at the hard chair and forced to watch the promotional video until 3pm. Conclusion - 3.5 star ryokan, not the most exciting or exclusive villa we have stayed. Maybe it would get better once the trees grow thicker and staff better trained. The sister Ryokan nearby has better feel of environment and feels more established.

Lovely place with an amazing view of the valley behind. Very much enjoyed the private onsens which can be booked for free. Only drawback is the remote location, only really accessible via car. Would recommend for a short 2-night stay.

Es una buena casa privada. Pero no recomiendo si el tiempo está frío o llueve, o si viaja con niños pequeños. Viajaba con mi familia con dos toddlers. El baño y el asiento están al aire libre, no muy bien iluminado y no bien cubierto. La presión del agua caliente es baja, y el agua es muy caliente o muy fría. Esa noche fue fría, lluviosa y viento. La experiencia fue terrible para nosotros debido a lo anterior, y los niños tenían muchos problemas para tomar un baño. Y extraño que la puerta del baño esté cerrada desde el exterior y no desde el interior. También recuerde comprar comida antes de entrar. Compramos nuestras propias cenas y cocinamos nuestras propias cenas. De lo contrario, es una buena casa privada, probablemente mejor para adultos.

Главный плюс это расположение , если хочется побыть в тишине наедине с природой … Рано утром даже олень завтракал напротив нашей террасы 🦌 Общие купальни сильно понравились , вода горячая как и хотелось . Номер в японском стиле брали и это соответствует настроению , хотелось проникнуться в японскую культуру . Владельцы отеля нам в этом помогли 🙏 Весь персонал очень доброжелательный . Еда очень вкусная , за две ночи разное меню . Спасибо шеф повару 🙏 Это был мой день рождения и я очень прекрасно провела время . Рекан оправдал наши ожидания 💫
