This is the best hotel in Kurokawa! 1. Stuff is kindly meet you, explain everything and help as well as it possible. 2. Ryokan has 6(!) private bathes with different style. No extra payment,, no reservation. You can available status on your TV. During my staying there was at least one ready for use, no time all of them was using. 3. Water. Just perfect, has a right temperature and composition. Just put yourself into the bath and feel relaxed just since that second. 4. Rooms. Clean and fresh. 5. Open-air bath is cool to, for me a bit too hot. And I was the only one who use it during the dinner time. 6. I had only breakfast, but it is service in private room in dinner hall. Very delicious with various of dishes. 7. The hotel located at two sides of the river. Travelers could enjoy a scenic view from the bridge.

Останавливался на одни сутки в середине мая 2025г. Этот новый отель в традиционном стиле предназначен для уединений и спокойного отдыха. Абсолютная приватность, даже за завтраком вы ни с кем не пересекаетесь, вас обслуживает в приватной зоне ваш собственный официант. Была дождливая погода, поэтому я все время провел в отеле. Стильный огромный номер с большим собственным онсеном, из которого не хочется вылезать. Огромный телевизор с хорошим звуком и youtube, что в японских отелях есть далеко не всегда. Быстрый wifi. Завтрак-кайсеки очень вкусный, такой вкусный, что я съел бы еще такой же. Отель находится в деревне, сильно в стороне от поселка Курокава и автобусного терминала. Магазина в деревне нет, там вообще ничего нет. От автобусного терминала до отеля можно дойти пешком за 30мин только если у вас один рюкзак. Между отелем и автобусным терминалом очень редко ходит местный автобус. Зато утром, после завтрака, из отеля до Курокава идет бесплатный шатл.

Fantastico estancia! Excelente habitación con baño abierto y pequeño jardín. Alimentos saborosos, bien equilibrados en sal y dulce. El personal de servicio era caliente y eficiente, tomando iniciativa para proporcionar servicio para la conveniencia del huésped.

Somos encargados de un auto, el estilo japonés del río montanhoso no es bueno en general. Reservé dos cuartos de cuatro personas (con piscina de sopa interior), uno en los dos pisos de la casa, uno en el otro lado de la casa. La comida del hotel no es adecuada para el chino de la salchicha (carne picada), pero la piscina es elegante y busca un trato de seis metros de altura, pero la sopa en la habitación y el viento abierto en público son agradables.

We love this quaint spot, there's a lot of variety of public bath (for women as I can only comment for it) - you can even visit their sister shop nearby. Location wise - it's not walking distance to the main onsen town, but it means it's bigger. We travel in a group of 8 and slept in a 4-person room with a private onsen inside, which was awesome. Amenities were great and the food was so amazing!! The eel dinner was just mindblowing. The staff there were super attentive and there was one of them who speaks Chinese that made everything easy as well. There was a male staff who sent us out, helped us take lots of great photos - he did much more than we asked him to.

Las fotos que vimos cuando reservamos este hotel cálido en línea parecen nada, pero vinieron aquí por completo con dos métodos de excavación diferentes.  El calor de la habitación es muy cómodo, la habitación es muy limpia y el entorno es muy limpio. Esta vez es una botella de dos comidas, la comida es muy deliciosa, veo la cuidadosa atención de este hotel cálido, todo el alimento es muy suave y el sabor es bueno. El personal que nos ayude a comprobar la entrada es muy claro y el servicio es bueno. La actitud del personal del restaurante es satisfactoria. Creo que este hotel es una buena opción desde el vulcano de Assu. 

Pros- spacious villa, quality bedding and large private indoor onsen( see picture 13). We also like the public outdoor onsen in the sister ryokan nearby. There is a little cafe there you can buy drinks and coffee, run by an adorable old couple, very nice and polite. We spent a lot of time there just chilling and listening to the music. Cons- Living room: we were only able to book the western style villa as it’s a little last minute trip. The living room is basic, bland, with sofa, instead or tatami. Our room 512 is next to the car park. Parking lot in front of your main door is not very pleasant. Food : just soso. Nothing extraordinary. See picture. No horse sashimi, the presentation of the steak is really ordinary - disappointing. Perhaps because we had such an amazing meals in the previous ryokan this became a massive letdown. Dinner served in a large public dining room, lack of the privacy and intimacy ther ryokan provide ( we had private dining room in another ryokan 野之花during this trip). I got to see other couples but also feeling like we are being watched. Service- served by young people, not much attentiveness you would expect in traditional ryokan, lack of the warmth and ritual. Reception- 3 star at best. A basic room with uncomfortable chair while you wait to be checked in. We arrived around 2:30pm, and was told that check in can only start at 3pm, and please wait. So we sat at the hard chair and forced to watch the promotional video until 3pm. Conclusion - 3.5 star ryokan, not the most exciting or exclusive villa we have stayed. Maybe it would get better once the trees grow thicker and staff better trained. The sister Ryokan nearby has better feel of environment and feels more established.

No se nos da una instrucción clara, por lo que debemos llevar el equipaje pesado hasta las escaleras que son peligrosos y cansados. La comunicación es un problema incluso podemos gestionar el inglés muy bien desde Hong Kong.

Kurokawa onsen was the highlight of my trip to Kyushu. So I splurged on this accomodation. I chose a room with river view and it was the best decision. Love the stay so much. Staffs were lovely and helpful. They speak good English and Mandarin. Lobby was spacious. Plenty of spaces to chill and chat as a family. The onsens were abundance to choose from. Breakfast was awesome, so was dinner. We got the room with 2 beds and 2 futons. We all enjoyed our stay so much

The place is a little of the beaten path and requires a car with snow tires equip, but it is worth the drive. There is parking available and the staff were amazing and the room was (house) was spectacular. It was a traditional Japanese house (sliding paper doors everywhere) with a lot of rooms to use including western style beds, massage chair and the all important private onsen bath which was a large and luxurious open air bath. We arrived just after snowfall so we were not impacted by snow on the roads, but it is probably a good idea to get the food options for your stay or bring some food with you for a short stay for dinner, as the roads around might be a little hard to navigate at night with no nearby walkable convenience. Very lovely stay and I wish I booked an extra night as this was a highlight in my trip in terms of accommodations.
