You cannot beat the location of Odeon Saint Germain, it is accessible to everything we needed and only a couple of blocks from the metro & Luxembourg Gardens. With the exception of the gentleman that was working the day we checked in (May 25th) the staff was incredibly rude and acted as though having us there was an undue burden upon them - and we are very low maintenance guests than really only need a spot to sleep while on vacation. Word to the wise - do *not* participate in their offered breakfast for €15. Being in Paris we did not intend on eating breakfast at our hotel (with the endless amazing options on every corner), but we had an early visit to Versailles scheduled so we had breakfast at the hotel at 7 one morning before catching the train. I was floored by what they had on offer for €15 per person. We were offered to select from several packets of Kellogg’s single serve cereal, Yoplait yogurt, 2 pieces of fruit, and very subpar bread. When I asked about eggs or any hot offerings I was told (quite rudely) they were an additional charge. When I inquired about a spoon for the yogurt I was again spoken down to stating it was at the table setting (indeed, it was not). For the price we paid to stay at this small boutique hotel, I expected at least a breakfast slightly better than what most dirt cheap motels in the US offer for less money. Aside from the offered breakfast (which I will chalk up to my not asking for details prior to and lack of planning for our early departure), the rude staff (the *only* rude French prople we encountered in the entire country during our 2 week stay in several regions), the location was stellar, the water pressure in the shower was good, and the beds were not rock hard.
