Tanoa International Dateline Hotel

The hotel is the most expensive vs quality and service that I've even seen and absolutely inflexible with reservations. I'd a problem with my flight because BA delays, I told them 2 days before arriving and they didn't accepted any reason to cancel those 2 nights, even being my stay in total 16 days. However, I noticed at arrival that they used the room at least the night before ... So they got the money twice. Very irresponsible cheating customers this way. I also asked to cancel the last 2 nights, and again they didn't accepted that, very ugly. The room seems clean, but curtains are really dirty, and in a couple of nights, I found cockroach in the bathroom. The bathroom has open windows (no curtains) to the corridor, so light goes into the room all the time in the night. And the worst is the noise, you can hear anything from the corridors, swimming pool, etc. They offer a restaurant, but is closed for restoration since long time ago, I was told. So you can get some basic dishes at the lobby bar, but be aware of the delays. One of the nights it too me over 110 minutes to get my burger, yes just a burger. A couple in the next table seated around 1 hour after me, and they ordered also a burger, which arrived faster than mine. Mi complains during the waiting time resulted in nothing, just excuses. I told them I will not pay for that, and I didn't. The breakfast has very few choices, no fruits other than papaya, some days banana. Yogurt is like a shot, so small! No pastries, just banana bread, and some days small muffins (which are the best, I must say). However there is also a very good thing: my congratulations to the eggs station team, the best omelettes that I've tried since long time ago! If you like cold water for the shower, you will never find it. The cold tap is over 25C all the day thru. I've noticed as well that they don't have sufficient towels, as everyday they need to collect my own towels to do laundry and return to me. Often they forgot to bring me back the small one ... Last but not least, one of the last days, they had a party with a big orchestra most of the day going thru. The music was so loud that I can heard it in the corner of the following block of the hotel. Of course as you can guess, in the room was impossible to stay. I accepted that during the afternoon, but in the evening/night (past 22) wanted to call reception to complain because I couldn't sleep. The phone was broken, they can't heard me, I can heard thru the phone the loud noise of the party from the reception. They sent a security guy to my room to check what was going on, and then we discovered that the phone cable was broken. He promised that the will stop the music (they could actually close the doors of the meeting room holding the party) but they never did. I was about to call the police, but I was too angry and preferred to stay working overnight than have a trouble before departing. It is unacceptable that they allow a party that disturbs the res

Die Lage mit Meerblick ist sehr schön, sofern man ein Zimmer im ersten Stock mit Balkon hat. Dadurch herrscht natürlich immer eine gewisse Brise, indes ist die Straße vor dem Hotel dauerbefahren. Das Hotel hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen und als alles neu resp. intakt war, war es bestimmt eine gute Adresse. Da das Objekt allerdings wenig Pflege und Instandhaltung erfährt, ist alles sehr improvisiert bis sich selbst und dem Ruin überlassen. Das ist schade. Es ist vieles kaputt, ungepflegt und schäbig. Jedes Möbelstück ist mitgenommen, Installationen sind defekt, nicht mehr vorhanden oder dem Verfall preisgegeben. Es ist irrwitzig und lachhaft. Als Gast ist eine große Portion Humor und Gelassenheit notwendig, um bestimmten Mängeln begegnen zu können. Derlei sind so zahlreich, dass ich sie nicht aufliste. Das Frühstück ist frugal und knapp. Das Personal ist absolut freundlich und hilfsbereit, ein absolutes Highlight. Will der Besitzer es abreißen und etwas anderes und neues entstehen lassen? Dieser Eindruck drängt sich auf, wenn irgendwann viele Tagesgäste per Kreuzfahrtschiff anlanden sollten. Bis dahin läuft immerhin das Restaurant resp. der chinesische Take-away wie eine Eins und Gäste werden aus Ermangelung von Alternativen in Stoßzeiten trotzdem hier übernachten.

Having never been to Tonga, I relied on reviews like this to choose Seaview Lodge. I'm so glad I chose it! Excellent hospitality and communication, delicious restaurant onsite, comfortable and quiet rooms, air-conditioning if needed, within a pretty property located very close to the King's palace, just across the street from a walking trail along the sea, and a short walking distance to places to visit in downtown. Highly recommend you stay here. I stayed here twice, when I first arrived on the main island and before I traveled to stay on one of the smaller Tonga islands for several days (Eua), and then I stayed here the the day before my flight left Tonga after returning from the island of Eua. The first stay was in a standard first level room with no views. It was comfortable, clean, great water pressure, tasty in-room coffee, bottled water, safe, and very quiet. Just no balcony or view. My second stay for one night before I traveled back home was in an upstairs, ocean view balcony room that I wish I could have stayed longer in. Pictures are of this room.

The owners of Lata Hotel are extremely kind and very welcoming ! They came to pick us up at the airport and showed us all the key highlights of Nukuʿalofa ! They also cooked amazing food for us, including lots of fresh seafood, we still remember the huge lobster and crabs we ate there ! Would highly recommend staying at Lata Hotel !

Having never been to Tonga, I relied on reviews like this to choose Seaview Lodge. I'm so glad I chose it! Excellent hospitality and communication, delicious restaurant onsite, comfortable and quiet rooms, air-conditioning if needed, within a pretty property located very close to the King's palace, just across the street from a walking trail along the sea, and a short walking distance to places to visit in downtown. Highly recommend you stay here. I stayed here twice, when I first arrived on the main island and before I traveled to stay on one of the smaller Tonga islands for several days (Eua), and then I stayed here the the day before my flight left Tonga after returning from the island of Eua. The first stay was in a standard first level room with no views. It was comfortable, clean, great water pressure, tasty in-room coffee, bottled water, safe, and very quiet. Just no balcony or view. My second stay for one night before I traveled back home was in an upstairs, ocean view balcony room that I wish I could have stayed longer in. Pictures are of this room.

The hotel is the most expensive vs quality and service that I've even seen and absolutely inflexible with reservations. I'd a problem with my flight because BA delays, I told them 2 days before arriving and they didn't accepted any reason to cancel those 2 nights, even being my stay in total 16 days. However, I noticed at arrival that they used the room at least the night before ... So they got the money twice. Very irresponsible cheating customers this way. I also asked to cancel the last 2 nights, and again they didn't accepted that, very ugly. The room seems clean, but curtains are really dirty, and in a couple of nights, I found cockroach in the bathroom. The bathroom has open windows (no curtains) to the corridor, so light goes into the room all the time in the night. And the worst is the noise, you can hear anything from the corridors, swimming pool, etc. They offer a restaurant, but is closed for restoration since long time ago, I was told. So you can get some basic dishes at the lobby bar, but be aware of the delays. One of the nights it too me over 110 minutes to get my burger, yes just a burger. A couple in the next table seated around 1 hour after me, and they ordered also a burger, which arrived faster than mine. Mi complains during the waiting time resulted in nothing, just excuses. I told them I will not pay for that, and I didn't. The breakfast has very few choices, no fruits other than papaya, some days banana. Yogurt is like a shot, so small! No pastries, just banana bread, and some days small muffins (which are the best, I must say). However there is also a very good thing: my congratulations to the eggs station team, the best omelettes that I've tried since long time ago! If you like cold water for the shower, you will never find it. The cold tap is over 25C all the day thru. I've noticed as well that they don't have sufficient towels, as everyday they need to collect my own towels to do laundry and return to me. Often they forgot to bring me back the small one ... Last but not least, one of the last days, they had a party with a big orchestra most of the day going thru. The music was so loud that I can heard it in the corner of the following block of the hotel. Of course as you can guess, in the room was impossible to stay. I accepted that during the afternoon, but in the evening/night (past 22) wanted to call reception to complain because I couldn't sleep. The phone was broken, they can't heard me, I can heard thru the phone the loud noise of the party from the reception. They sent a security guy to my room to check what was going on, and then we discovered that the phone cable was broken. He promised that the will stop the music (they could actually close the doors of the meeting room holding the party) but they never did. I was about to call the police, but I was too angry and preferred to stay working overnight than have a trouble before departing. It is unacceptable that they allow a party that disturbs the res

Die Lage mit Meerblick ist sehr schön, sofern man ein Zimmer im ersten Stock mit Balkon hat. Dadurch herrscht natürlich immer eine gewisse Brise, indes ist die Straße vor dem Hotel dauerbefahren. Das Hotel hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen und als alles neu resp. intakt war, war es bestimmt eine gute Adresse. Da das Objekt allerdings wenig Pflege und Instandhaltung erfährt, ist alles sehr improvisiert bis sich selbst und dem Ruin überlassen. Das ist schade. Es ist vieles kaputt, ungepflegt und schäbig. Jedes Möbelstück ist mitgenommen, Installationen sind defekt, nicht mehr vorhanden oder dem Verfall preisgegeben. Es ist irrwitzig und lachhaft. Als Gast ist eine große Portion Humor und Gelassenheit notwendig, um bestimmten Mängeln begegnen zu können. Derlei sind so zahlreich, dass ich sie nicht aufliste. Das Frühstück ist frugal und knapp. Das Personal ist absolut freundlich und hilfsbereit, ein absolutes Highlight. Will der Besitzer es abreißen und etwas anderes und neues entstehen lassen? Dieser Eindruck drängt sich auf, wenn irgendwann viele Tagesgäste per Kreuzfahrtschiff anlanden sollten. Bis dahin läuft immerhin das Restaurant resp. der chinesische Take-away wie eine Eins und Gäste werden aus Ermangelung von Alternativen in Stoßzeiten trotzdem hier übernachten.

The hotel is the most expensive vs quality and service that I've even seen and absolutely inflexible with reservations. I'd a problem with my flight because BA delays, I told them 2 days before arriving and they didn't accepted any reason to cancel those 2 nights, even being my stay in total 16 days. However, I noticed at arrival that they used the room at least the night before ... So they got the money twice. Very irresponsible cheating customers this way. I also asked to cancel the last 2 nights, and again they didn't accepted that, very ugly. The room seems clean, but curtains are really dirty, and in a couple of nights, I found cockroach in the bathroom. The bathroom has open windows (no curtains) to the corridor, so light goes into the room all the time in the night. And the worst is the noise, you can hear anything from the corridors, swimming pool, etc. They offer a restaurant, but is closed for restoration since long time ago, I was told. So you can get some basic dishes at the lobby bar, but be aware of the delays. One of the nights it too me over 110 minutes to get my burger, yes just a burger. A couple in the next table seated around 1 hour after me, and they ordered also a burger, which arrived faster than mine. Mi complains during the waiting time resulted in nothing, just excuses. I told them I will not pay for that, and I didn't. The breakfast has very few choices, no fruits other than papaya, some days banana. Yogurt is like a shot, so small! No pastries, just banana bread, and some days small muffins (which are the best, I must say). However there is also a very good thing: my congratulations to the eggs station team, the best omelettes that I've tried since long time ago! If you like cold water for the shower, you will never find it. The cold tap is over 25C all the day thru. I've noticed as well that they don't have sufficient towels, as everyday they need to collect my own towels to do laundry and return to me. Often they forgot to bring me back the small one ... Last but not least, one of the last days, they had a party with a big orchestra most of the day going thru. The music was so loud that I can heard it in the corner of the following block of the hotel. Of course as you can guess, in the room was impossible to stay. I accepted that during the afternoon, but in the evening/night (past 22) wanted to call reception to complain because I couldn't sleep. The phone was broken, they can't heard me, I can heard thru the phone the loud noise of the party from the reception. They sent a security guy to my room to check what was going on, and then we discovered that the phone cable was broken. He promised that the will stop the music (they could actually close the doors of the meeting room holding the party) but they never did. I was about to call the police, but I was too angry and preferred to stay working overnight than have a trouble before departing. It is unacceptable that they allow a party that disturbs the res

Muy limpio, el cuarto es grande, la cama confortable, el baño está completo, la cantidad de agua de la cama es fuerte, hay aire acondicionado, puede acceder a Internet, el entorno del hotel es hermoso, el personal tiene preguntas y respuestas, puede ayudar a resolver el problema, especialmente la actitud de servicio de la sirvienta de la cama de desayuno es muy buena, la ubicación es modesta, las tiendas pequeñas cercanas, Puede ofrecer bebidas y alimentos generales, especialmente el restaurante pequeño de la India frente al hotel, el gallo de curry de Tonga yuan, los objetos son valiosos, hay un mercado de verduras y frutas abiertos cerca.

Having never been to Tonga, I relied on reviews like this to choose Seaview Lodge. I'm so glad I chose it! Excellent hospitality and communication, delicious restaurant onsite, comfortable and quiet rooms, air-conditioning if needed, within a pretty property located very close to the King's palace, just across the street from a walking trail along the sea, and a short walking distance to places to visit in downtown. Highly recommend you stay here. I stayed here twice, when I first arrived on the main island and before I traveled to stay on one of the smaller Tonga islands for several days (Eua), and then I stayed here the the day before my flight left Tonga after returning from the island of Eua. The first stay was in a standard first level room with no views. It was comfortable, clean, great water pressure, tasty in-room coffee, bottled water, safe, and very quiet. Just no balcony or view. My second stay for one night before I traveled back home was in an upstairs, ocean view balcony room that I wish I could have stayed longer in. Pictures are of this room.
