Elsa's Kopje

Best decision ever to celebrate my birthday here. From the day we checked in, the high standards were maintained by ALL staff. They are all so kind! The rooms are meticulously made to welcome you to a new world of luxury. We got spoilt by Chef Jackline and her team. The Spa is one experience not to miss out. Judy did a great aromatherapy massage! Special shout to Nicholas, Matthew, Solomon, Richard, William, Patrick. Grace the GM is extremely knowledgeable on not only Elsa's Kopje history but the entire park and its environs. We will definitely be back here!

Glad we chose here 4 a 3 nights as a couple. All works perfectly like clockwork! Team lead by GM Grace offer exceptional + personalized service. Reception, rooms, dinning, security. Our room faces the East with a breathtaking sunrise view!

This was our third visit back to Elsa’s and we were greeted at the airstrip by our favourite bushman, Joel. We were so excited to back. Greeted at reception by Grace, Jane, Sylvia and the rest of the team and we settled in. Shadrack, our lovely room attendant showed us to our room, cottage number 5. The cottage was lovely, had everything you needed along with stunning views across Meru. The food at Elsa’s and other Elewana properties is always top notch. Flavourful and plentiful along with a great drinks selection. Our waiter Solomon, was charming and funny. When we asked if the genet cats still came in to the bar area he took us back to the kitchen to see them sitting on their rock eyeing up any potential dropped food. The pool area is beautiful, that pool is simply stunning. Really warm and a great way to cool off after a morning drive. You don’t necessarily go to Meru for the sightings but we’ve always been so lucky when we’ve been. We didn’t see so many lions as last time but were lucky to spend time with a lovely female on her morning walk, a leopard at night just walking along the road, rhinos, giraffes and so many elephants. The Ellie’s in Meru are always so interesting due to previous poaching back in the day they are still mistrustful of humans but they’re slowly learning that we aren’t there to hurt them and simply admire their beauty. We also saw lots of birds and my one of my husbands favourites, the e gerunuk. Every time we go back the landscape is so different, this time it was so green because of the recent rains. It’s such a beautiful park and so untouched, you often won’t see another vehicle and with Elsa’s being the only camp in the park, it feels very special. Thank you especially to Grace for always being so accommodating and friendly and to Joel for being funny, interesting and our friend. We will be back!

We loved every single moment at Elsa's Kopje. Game drives have been one of the most emotional experiences of our lives: we've been accompanied by Solomon. who happens to be the best guide ever, always patient and ready to tell us curiosities and aneddottes about the animals. He's also a wildlife photographer so he was very helpful with us in all the taking photos moments. The African fresh food was delicious, same thing for the wines (I recommend the Southafrican Chardonnay!) The staff was amazing to us and we would love to go back. It's also important to note the MERU is less crowded then MASAI MARA so in order to have a wildlife experience but less people and crowded situations ELEWANA is the best option for you

Unbelievable attention to detail, superb food, service and rooms. from game drives to bush breakfasts and sundowners nothing is too much, they’ve usually anticipated all you could wish for even before you’ve thought of it yourself. You’re made to feel as if you’re the only guest in the park. Rooms are large, stylish and we watched game from our verandas. Can’t rave enough about it, rates in my top 2 lodges in Africa and that says something! Can’t wait to go back

It’s hard to capture in words what the team at Elsa’s Kopje manages to achieve in such a short stay. The location of the lodge is fabulous, its history unique, its support of the land and community laudable and its care of its guests second to none. The guides provide a superb experience on the game drives, their knowledge immense, their good humour infectious and to be honest, we felt really sad to be leaving 😢

We stayed for three nights at elsas kopje and it was a wonderful experience. The game drives were brilliant - our driver guide, Wilson was really knowledgeable and the team at the camp were excellent and really good humoured, with a ready smile and a friendly greeting. The views from the kopje were stunning with a brilliant swimming pool. The accommodation was great too, as was the food. If you going to meru this is the place to be.

Everything about Elsa's is exceptional, the accommodation in harmony with its surroundings and the staff made you feel as if you were the only ones staying there. The game drives with Moses were so full of surprises and his sense of humour did him proud but don't expect to see everything at once and just be patient! I cannot praise it highly enough, from the moment you are picked up from the airstrip to the moment you leave. Grace, Walter, Jacqueline and all the staff are there for your every needs but without being intrusive. The food was so delicious and I can honestly there was not one single thing which could have been improved on - well done to all of you for making our stay so memorable. Asante sana.

On arrival we were met by our guide Bashir and greeted at the airstrip with drinks, snacks and the warmest welcome. The accommodation was stunning with soft comfy bedding and breathtaking views of Meru national park. The service at the lodge was second to none with amazing personal touches throughout. The food was exceptional especially given the remote location. We were treated to 3 course meals for lunch and dinner and a combination of packed and bush breakfasts in the wild. The safaris were incredible, our guide Bashir was thoughtful, caring and completely knowledgeable. During the visit we were lucky enough to see so much wildlife we were spoilt for choice. Overall this was a stunning place to stay, one which we would happily recommend to others as we will be returning ourselves.
