The Collins House Inn Bed & Breakfast

We stayed 2 nights at this lovely b&b at both the beginning and end of a trip further south. We are discerning travelers and could not have been more pleased. The hosts are warm and welcoming and maintain a spotless house and the breakfast is outstanding. I urge you to consider Collins House for your travels on the road - you will not be disappointed. We will be back!

What a sweet find! First, the on-line registration experience was easy and they kept me informed prior to our arrival. Upon arrival, we loved the off-street parking and we were greeted by the owner, Carol, who is a wonderful soul. Our room (The Mary) was roomy and clean - the king bed and pillows were super comfortable. Fresh baked cookies were sitting out in the "coffee room" and there's 24-hour access to coffee/tea. The location is wonderful, very central to the historic district with several great places to eat. Breakfast - wow! She accommodated us with an earlier than usual breakfast time and it was delicious and the perfect size servings (sometimes you get too much food). We had blueberry pancakes with fresh home-made whipped cream, a muffin sized egg cup, a piece of sausage and a 2-bite home-made almond bar. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

I just needed a room in the area that was available immediately, safe and clean so I ended up here. So glad I did, it felt like a mini-vacation. Room availability was not an issue. The whole place is super beautiful and super clean. Lovely service. Food and drink options available. It’s perfect. The inn keeper explained that the other side of town is the unsafe part and that it’s drastically different from where they have their inn. They also said that the town is like a cute Hallmark movie around Christmas so I’d like to come back around that time.

Carol is a premium host who carefully prepared the best stay and breakfast! Highly recommended. The inn is meticulously decorated, cleaned and managed. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The town of Marion is also a quaint town with good restaurants.

This quaint place is beautiful and the owners are super friendly . . The accommodations were first rate . . Very clean and very cozy . . Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! I would stay here again and would recommend to anyone!

This house is more of a home away from home; full of comfort and care. The owners; Carol and Rodney, do their best to treat you like you are the best guest they ever had. Carol does not advertise that she is a gourmet cook but that you will discover when breakfast time comes around. Our room had a fireplace, two armchairs and a very comfortable bed. Carol showed us to her favorite sitting room and my sister and I were able to enjoy a good cup of tea while lounging in there. Although the property is on a main road, the traffic is mild and we enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch having a quiet conversation. The house is tastefully decorated and meticulously clean. I highly recommend it.

A beautiful and historic house and room. Very comfortable bed and chairs. Amazing breakfasts, they were truly of the highest quality. The operators were very friendly as were the other guests we were fortunate to meet (we sat at breakfast with them for over two hours). The house is conveniently located on Main Street, walking distance from restaurants and shops.

Believe everything you read about The Collins House Bed and Breakfast in Marion, VA. The location is perfect, as it is on Main Street and within walking distance of most shops and restaurants. The house and the owners, Carol and Rod, are most welcoming. They treat everyone as family, and you leave knowing you've met life-long friends in them. Each bedroom has its own bath with fresh, clean linens, both in the bath and in the bedroom. You will be awakened to the smell of Carol and Rod's delicious breakfast each morning, which includes only homemade delicacies. They leave "no stone unturned." We look forward to another stay in the near future.

We came to the area for a training at the local wellness center. I was not able to partake of the breakfasts as I had to be at the training session very early but Carol and Rod offered to get up extra early for me. I declined but was so impressed that they would make that offer. To go cups were placed on the table by the coffee in the morning so I could take my hot tea with me. They had breakfast for my husband after he came back from dropping me off. Carol and Rod are friendly, caring and accommodating. The chocolate chip cookies were great too!!
