The Indy House - Rooms & Apartments

It is basically a hostel with short to long term rent options which is built in a very nice indie style, although quite noisy due to being an old building (stairs creaking and you can hear people walking or talking at all times as well as the elevator in the building is a constant noise) but what is gonna make your experience terrible is the person who manages this place, a person with the least business mentality I have ever seen across my world travels as well as none customer service skills unfortunately! I was there for a mid-term and I never felt welcome since the house manager is bossing around with a rude and dispotic attitude always ready to remind you that that's her house and you are basically just a guest who, although respects all the rules, has to cherish her everyday in order to have the contract extended! Moreover, this person will not let you have your privacy, spying on your conversations or allowed visitors and then gossiping around the house with staff or even co-livers about tenants' personal stuff just like the cliché of a doorman! The positive note of this place is the staff, both booking and cleaning, which is professional and kind with guests at all times!! When it comes to the building it is worth to mention that there's a very nice garden while on the other hand, the in-room bathroom is very uncomfortable and small (sink and shower the smallest ever). Another thing to mention is that, although they sell the place like a co-living with a co-working/living room space dedicated, this is often very noisy during working times, with the manager speaking out loud to the staff and most of the times playing loud music without any respect for people trying to work in the common space or even study since for the most part of the year the rooms are rented to erasmus students. I wouldn't ever recommend this place for a mid to long term not even to my worst enemy although i understand that the good spot where it is located makes it good for a few days stay if you are visiting the beautiful Lisbon and you are willing to just ignore all above mentioned. The concept of this space it may be cool but in order to grow needs definitely a change of the management! Good luck with that!
