CCaleb CreasonHotel is quite nice, staff was very friendly and room as clean and equipped nicely. Breakfast was expansive with a good selection for everyone. The location is within walking distance to many things. We took a nice walk to the science park area and visited one of the local temples. There is also a nice speakeasy bar within 10 min walk (kind of hidden past the starbucks up the hill). I would definitely recommend this hotel to business visitors or tourists as well.

TTan Poh LayRather close to Hsinchu Railway Station (few minutes' walk) and main attractions (10 to 15mins' walk to chenghuang temple and Big City, a big-scale shopping centre with SOGO adjacent to it). However, it is a bit pricey for a solo traveller. Dental kit is not provided. There are not many places for breakfast either. I had to visit McDonald's and convenience stores (very near to the hotel) for breakfast. The staff (I encountered two of them) would answer your questions but without a smile.

The HighlightsPrime Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot for transit. It is a 3-minute walk from the Hsinchu Railway Station and within an 8-minute stroll to the City God Temple Night Market. If you enjoy being where the action is, this is it.
Value for Money: For a budget-friendly price (often around $25–$30 USD), you get a surprisingly spacious room. Unlike many modern ”shoebox” hotels, these rooms have plenty of floor space.
Breakfast Buffet: Many guests are pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. It’s a local spread—think braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan), porridge, and stir-fried vegetables—alongside basic toast and coffee.

SSharon PSLa habitación del hotel y el establecimiento en general son viejos y están deteriorados. Era totalmente diferente a las fotos que se mostraban en Trip.com. La habitación es pequeña y el humo del tabaco entraba fácilmente porque la puerta es bastante grande. A veces, el humo de los demás pisos entraba por la ventana del baño, que estaba cubierta con una puerta de cristal. Por lo tanto, era muy desagradable e incómodo inhalar todo el humo de segunda mano de los demás huéspedes alojados en otros pisos. También encontré un envoltorio de condón roto y tirado en el fondo del dispensador de pañuelos después de usar el último pañuelo de papel de mi habitación; me llevé un shock al verlo. Entonces me di cuenta de que el hotel se alquilaba para uso diurno con fines de ************, ya que se proporcionaban condones gratuitos como parte de los servicios. Once I open the room door I noticed a weird sourish smell. Room is definitely dated.
The AC kept making weird noise, had to turn it to low and the noise level is more acceptable.
Other than that it appears to be clean.
As I was staying for only 1 night and my friend is staying more nights, after I checked out, I went over to his room to store my perishables in the fridge as my flight is at 8pm.
Once I stepped in, there was a strong sourish smell in the room which even the cleaning staff acknowledged that she smell it too. She sugggested opening the window to facilitate better air flow and if it still doesn’t work then maybe will use a air freshener.
And then, the metal key didn’t work when I try to open the room door. The same lady assisted me and told me to turn the key left before turning the door knob right. But when I came back to the room, the key doesn’t work no matter if I turned it left or right.
She took over and it opened, had to turn it left with more force 😬
Next, AC controller doesn’t work.
She came back again and when she press it worked but she also said it’s tougher to press the button, she will change the batteries. After changing the batteries it’s still very tough to press the button, so she changed the controller instead.
How eventful.
Won’t stay again if I can help it.
Positive note though, the room wall paper doesn’t have the weird black barbwire pattern shows on the pics of trip.com, sorry I forgot to take pics.
