The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. El sábado 16 de diciembre de 2023, mi familia decidió ir a The Marriot para el desayuno y planeamos usar nuestro Prokard para calificar para su descuento de cena. Hemos estado en el Marriot en numerosas ocasiones en los últimos 4 años y no tuvimos problemas con nuestro Prokard y con el descuento de cena aplicable. Tembi el director de restaurante nos detuvo a todos en la entrada del restaurante y fue adamant que no podíamos usar nuestro prokard ....en entonces fue una excusa que no habían disponibles mesas cuando habían disponible mucho. Su actitud fue desagradable y se excusó después de excusar ......otro ser que The Marriot es un nuevo hotel y que todavía encuentran sus pies que no era verdad. Mi familia estaba tan molesto con los retrocesos y adelantados que argumentaba que no nos gustaba nuestro desayuno, que era destinado a ser un exit familiar. También he oído a otros huéspedes quejarse de no poder utilizar el Prokard ......she también nos dijo que no puede ser utilizado durante las vacaciones .......she hizo tantas disculpas contradictorias. Hablé con Daniel el lunes ( 18 de diciembre) para quejarse de lo que pasamos el sábado y lo entregó a Razeen (otro gestor) que no tenía la decencia de llamarme con una disculpa y confirmar qué reglas son los beneficios de Prokard wrt. Mi consejo a los miembros de Prokard ......Mantengase alejado de The Marriot porque no son tan profesional y sofisticado como profesan ser y más bien defender los otros hoteles Protea. Best fresh fruit at breakfast I have had in a long time! I was very well looked after by Sam, Janine, Patricia and Sally - they made me most comfortable. My room was spacious, well appointed and kept in immaculate condition by Patricia and Sally. I would strongly recommend Houghton Place to any visitor.

Fantástico pequeño hotel. Si vas, aunque sea por una noche a Johannesburgo, es de lo más recomendable. Zona muy tranquila, con jardín. Se agradece después de tantas horas de vuelo. Tiene un magnífico restaurante en el recinto del hotel, ( recomiendo reservar con antelación) a parte del que da servicio a los huéspedes. Hotel con pocas habitaciones y estupendas. Modernas, bonitas, hiperlimpias y cuidadas, en las que estuvimos todas con terraza. Me encantó. El desayuno fantástico. En las habitaciones que estuvimos son mucho más bonitas que las que aparecen en las fotos del hotel. Fue una gran sorpresa. Normalmente suele ser al contrario o en el mejor de los casos igual a las fotos.

Everything about our stay was amazing, the location, the staff and the food and who can forget the Grown up milkshakes. Thank you Raymond. The hotel has a great location with a shopping precinct on it's doorstep, multiple cafés and restaurants within minutes. Also the Joburg hop on hop off bus, stops just outside the hotel. A very comfortable stay, I just wish we had longer. I would definitely recommend this hotel too friends and family. In fact I have. I hope too return soon but in the meantime I would like to thank all of the staff at the hotel for for a lovely stay and a fantastic birthday. Thank you especially too Londiwe, Les, Aaron, Ewart, Raymond and not forgetting Mr.T. thank you all again
