«Gracias por vivir 2 noches. Puede caminar de la estación. Las áreas como restaurantes, bares y supermercados también están cerca, el transporte es conveniente, pero el entorno es muy tranquilo y relajado. Puede caminar a Bounes, pero me encargo de un autobús porque tengo que ir a la montaña en el camino de vuelta. Él era muy amable y disfrutó de ayudarme a enseñarme cómo llegar a los lugares cercanos y llevar mi maleta al cuarto del tercer piso.»

«My husband and I stayed here in one of the larger posh 4-poster bed rooms for 2 nights nights. It is an ideal location, being a very short walk from the village high street, across the road from the harbour with beautiful lake views, but tucked high enough away from any street noise. And because it's a proper hotel, the room we booked was large enough, and even had a bidet. There was adequate parking, a lovely full English breakfast buffet, and a fancy bar and restaurant onsite. The only downside was that the lift was broken, so we had to climb to the top floor many times a day, and construction was taking place on site, but that was quiet for us as our room was around the other side of the building. If you're there in the dead of summer, there was no AC. (Just a heads up in case you're from the states and used to it all hotel rooms) Not currently any pool or hot tub at the time of typing this. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to my friends. 👍🏼»

«Traditional friendly guest house. Nice , clean bedroom with en suite shower room. 5 mins walk to Windermere centre, easy access to Bowness. Owners were friendly and welcoming with good knowledge of local attractions. We would stay again if in the area.»

«The YHA is situated between two lovely towns, Ambleside and Windermere, offering the perfect opportunity for a variety of walks. The staff were very helpful and polite, and the view from the hostel’s patio was breathtaking. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you – we had an absolutely fabulous time!»

«A beautiful property. Everything is very clean and location very good. Service staff also very friendly, makes you come back and order more. We took a bigger room as had luggage for comfort. Everything went well. Very close to a hike trail with nice top views of Windermere lake»

«Rum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself. We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too. We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful. After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks. We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny»

«Easy to book. Easy to check in. Peaceful. Free street parking. Open top bus stops outside for trip around lakes. Overall, great experience! Fully equipped clean kitchen available if needed. Near homegrown coffee shop that's serves great healthy breakfasts.»
