Pearl & Pebbles Eastbourne

This hotel is terrible, the frontage is dilapidated. The carpet throughout is filthy, outside our room there was the same crumbs for the two days We were lucky enough to be in a “refurbished “ room. There easily a double bed and in what looked like a converted cupboard was a single bed tight up to the walls at either side,. It was clean or I would have walked out. The water power was so very slow. The windows didn’t open because the were stuck down with paint or glue. There was a balustrade below the front window of our room and it was full of rubbish and what looked like a brim control box. There were no facilities at all in the hotel. There was nowhere to get a drink except a fridge at the reception which was locked.

I do not recommend this hotel, and I am deeply disappointed with my experience. Two days before our arrival, I made a reservation and contacted the hotel in advance to inform them we would be arriving late. They confirmed they would hold the room for us but would charge an additional fee of £10 per hour for late arrival. Despite this, when we arrived at around 11:05 PM, we found the hotel doors locked, the front desk unlit, and no staff in sight. Repeated attempts to ring the bell went unanswered. At 11:07 PM, we tried calling the hotel, only to be greeted by an answering machine. Regrettably, we had to seek alternative accommodations since other nearby hotels do not process check-ins after 10 PM. Subsequent communications with the hotel were frustrating as they insisted that they had staff waiting until midnight and charged us for this, refusing to cancel the charge. This is perplexing since no one was available to assist us upon arrival. We hurried to avoid their undue waiting. The issue of no one answering the phone has also not been addressed adequately. In hindsight, I should have documented the situation, but it never occurred to me that it would be necessary. This experience has been an expensive lesson for me.

Worse hotel we’ve stayed in. The hotel seriously needs to evaluate options for improving general cleanliness! The room was extremely dirty! -Bath tub ,very dusty -Toilet ,dirty and has poo stains -urine stains on the floor (have to put towels to walk on) -Sink ,engrained with dirt not had thorough clean in years -Bathroom door has dirty hand prints -Bedsheets smell like sweat -Floor ,sticky and its not been hoovered properly -Chairs has dandruff and the table has coffee stains Never again

Run down and shabby (and not the cleanest!) but an ideal location for exploring Eastbourne. Reception staff were friendly & helpful.

I recently stayed at Pearl & Pebbles Eastbourne in Eastbourne for one night and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Firstly, I must commend the lovely staff, although our interactions were minimal, their warmth and hospitality were evident. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, including the bathroom which was also fresh and tidy. However, my room was located right in front of the stairs on the second floor, which resulted in considerable noise disturbance until late at night, affecting my sleep quality. On a brighter note, the bed was comfortable, and the presence of a desk and chair was a practical addition, making it easier for me to catch up on some work. I particularly enjoyed the bathroom with its window, perfect for those who, like me, enjoy showering with a breeze of fresh air. Despite the compact size of the room, it was sufficient for a one-night stay. Moreover, having a kettle, coffee, and tea in the room was a delightful bonus, adding to the comfort and convenience of the stay. However, it was disappointing to find that the room lacked a safe, which would have added an extra layer of security for my belongings. In summary, while my stay at Pearl & Pebbles Eastbourne had its drawbacks, including noise issues and the absence of a safe, the cleanliness, comfort of the bed, practical amenities, and the friendly staff made it a generally positive experience for my short stay in Eastbourne.

The room is good. Pretty simple room. Reception people worked well helped with checkin. Room is neat but sheets are not clean. Toilet is not spacious. The leg space is not there. You need to sit in attention to pee. Otherwise all good

It is just a short walk from the seaside, roughly 15 mins walk from the station. Very close to the sea and the staffs are really helpful! Many choices of British breakfast around, all within 5-10 walking distance.

Good location the room is a new decoration and very friendly reception manager ☺️

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel!! Was not expecting it to be so nice!! The room was lovely & clean, the front service was very friendly and the location is perfect. I will definitely be returning.
