We were camping at Aysgarth Falls, when the weather became atrocious. Thunderstorms, and heavy rain just non stop. We decided to call it a day, and looked for a nearby hotel. The Cocket Hotel was only 8 miles away, and I managed to book the last available room, online. We left the tent at the campsite, and arrived at the hotel soon after. We were wet, cold, and hungry. The hotel owner was wonderful, and accepted our bedraggled selves. The room was very warm, and comfortable, and there were two local pubs also associated with the hotel. They both served food, though one of the kitchens was closed for refurbishment. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was stunning. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Our camping expedition turned from a disaster into a pleasure. Oh - we retrieved our very wet tent from the campsite the following day. I'm just looking for an excuse to revisit this lovely hotel.
