I made my reservation for a single room the day before - through my AAA membership. I received a bit of a discount - which was a nice bonus. The first evening I planned to stay (Friday 3/3/23) - I called the hotel directly to confirm my reservations for the next two evenings. I spoke to a gentleman (I think was the Manager, Mr Goswami). The man confirmed that my reservations were received and they were happy to have me as a guest. I got a very welcoming and grateful attitude from the man on the phone. Many of the more ”fancy”/expensive locations all pretty much adhere to many strict policies - many of which turn out to be most convenient for themselves, and many times come as a mild to major inconvenience to the customer. One of the such huge inconveniences to me (with the more ”fancy”/expensive locations) in the recent past has been the hassle I have gotten increasingly more and more over the last few years of - when you mention or intend on paying them with cash, they act like you just asked them if you could urinate in their pool. They treat you like you are a sketchy person trying to get over on them or something. With this hotel - CASH WAS NOT A PROBLEM! I like that. The Manager Mr Goswami served me with a smile and kind words the entire time during my check in. He was happy to accept cash, was glad I was able to get a discount with AAA, and the check in was the FASTEST, least invasive, and pleasant experience I have ever had with travel lodging. He truly seemed very happy that I had chosen to stay at their facility. Also, I locked myself out of my room accidentally on Saturday night. I went to the night window - within 10 seconds Mr Goswami was at the window. I explained, he spoke to me with smiles and a kind voice the whole time. He gave me an extra key within seconds - and even waived their usual fee of $2 for the extra key. I seen one reviewer who made a comment that the management staff/owners - live on the property. As if them living there was somehow supposed to make the stay less enjoyable, or maybe the place was trashy or low class because of this. I propose the exact opposite feelings. I have stayed in several Indian/Pakistani owned places. And, as far as I can recall - they all live at the location they run. In my opinion - this means they care more about service, security, and the well being of the property - it isn't just a job to them - it is their entire life. I don't care if grandma has a room downstairs and she is cooking out on a grill or hanging laundry out - that would mean, if I felt like breaking out my grill or hanging my laundry out - they wouldn't say anything to me. That to me is warm and courteous service. It is strange - in our society we have gotten to where if someone is friendly or relaxed in communicating or dealing with us - we try to make that person seem weird for being a laid back/warm person. It is like most people are brainwashed to believe that everything has to follow strict, sterilized, corpo

Girlfriend and I needed an escape and gf wanted to go swimming while we were at it. We went to one hotel and the pool wasn't open. So to make the gf happy I extended our mini vacation by booking another place. I called and made sure the pool was open and in good shape. I got a guarantee. We checked in and went to the pool, it was closed. They put in chemicals right after check in at 3pm and said we could swim the next day. The next day came and we kept getting told it'll be fine. Two days and the main reason we stayed was so gf could go swimming. They promised a pool. Nice lady even came by to give gf a towel for the pool... but then it was never open during our stay. The room was cool and mostly clean. If we didn't come specifically because the pool at the other hotel was closed and she wanted to swim it would have been ok. Instead we got the runaround, constantly being told the pool will be open soon, it never was. And the manager doesn't seem to exist.
