Gasthof Zum Kreuz

Marbach is an excellent location to walk in the mountains, bike ride or to visit towns and cities. The hosts, Diane and Nikk, could not have made our stay more pleasant. Nikk is the chef and produced outstanding meals. Breakfast is fulsome and the homemade muesli is truly excellent. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with ensuite bathrooms. The restaurant is busy and reflects the quality of the food on offer. If you visit on a Monday you will hear the local yodelling group which is an experience not to miss. The outside area to eat is a pleasant place with views of the mountains above. It is an excellent location which has a local grocery shop, butcher and a cheese factory which is worth a visit. There is a local grotto to visit which takes is an easy one hour walk. Diane and Nikk made our stay a memorable one and gave us advice on where to visit and how to get there using public transport. They both speak several languages including English and they are a very entertaining couple who both have extensive experience in hospitality. Marbach is in the centre of the country so we had good transport links to several towns which we visited (Thun, Bern and Lucerne). A cable car is located 5 minutes walk away and we went up and had a brilliant walk along the ridge and down to the valley. The route is well signed and gave us glorious views of the valley below and the mountain ranges surrounding us. Would I list Marbach again? Yes I would as it is a great base to visit other areas of Switzerland. I would certainly stay at Gasthof Kreuz Marbach and recommend it to any other travellers.

The food at Gasthof Kreuz Marbach is incredible, the menu is full of locally sourced, ingredients that are expertly prepared by the owners. But the food was only part of the experience at Gasthof Kreuz Marbach. Diane and Nikk are the epitome of warm hospitality, making us feel like a welcome guest from the moment we arrived. They took the time to chat with offering recommendations for local activities and sights to see. And they went out of their way to ensure that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Getting to Gasthof Kreuz Marbach from Zurich was a breeze, with plenty of public transportation options available. Once you arrive, you'll be struck by the natural beauty of the area, with stunning mountain views and picturesque landscapes at every turn. The views from my room were stunning, and I felt like I was in a postcard-perfect Swiss village. All in all, Gasthof Kreuz Marbach is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves great food, warm hospitality, and breath-taking scenery. With its cosy atmosphere, delicious cuisine, and friendly owners, it's the perfect getaway,

Cet hôtel restaurant est idéalement situé dans la biosphère de ENTLEBUCH, site classé au patrimoine de L’UNESCO. Les chambres sont très confortables et calmes, et le restaurant absolument délicieux. Accueil particulièrement chaleureux par les propriétaires, et surtout une véritable passion pour la cuisine qui se retrouve dans les plats cuisinés avec une finesse et des saveurs incroyables. J’ai rarement aussi bien mangé dans un restaurant. Mérite le détour et surtout la visite de ce parc naturel absolument sublime. Vivement recommandé!!!
