This review is actually difficult to write. The property itself is located at a beautiful location. With that being said, the staff are not genuine and do not enforce ”rules” consistently nor with any rhyme or reason. For instance we went down to the spa area to get a tour of what we could experience. We were not wearing the issued spa shoes, so we were not given a tour. Not even offered to use some spa shoes due to ours being in our room. Yet when we were in the spa for a pool visit, we saw no less than 3 couples being shown around wearing regular street shoes. Also people are not supposed to be talking on their phones or listening to audible music. At least two guests were when we were at the pool. Overall the spa is severely overpriced and overly hyped. Quite frankly it's not impressive. Along the lines of rules, men are are supposed to wear pants in the restaurant at dinner, yet I saw men wearing shorts. Also once again people were chatting on their phones. The breakfast was good, but dinner was a huge disappointment. We ate dinner twice. The food was indeed presented well. But the taste was lacking. During a four course dinner, my appetizer of fried cod was essentially room temperature as if it was cooked 10-15 min earlier. It was not of good quality taste either. The rest of my ”hot” food for the 1st and 2nd courses were also NOT hot. My ravioli were warm at best. For my 2nd course only part of my pork dish was actually hot. And staff NEVER checked to see if the food was prepared properly or to your liking. My wife's one course was barely touched, not a single question was asked. Also we weren't even offered a wine list! we were shocked!!!!!!!!! The portion sizes are extremely small and over priced. One morning there was NO hot water. Called the front desk, they had someone to find what the problem was. Once it was fixed about 90 minutes later, they never called us to let us know. For the price we paid for the room ,they could've at least called us to let us know we had hot water again. They charge a flat fee of 30 Euros to charge an electric car each time. Our rental car was a plug in hybrid that had a small battery which could charge rather quickly. There was a language barrier. I was under the impression the fee to use the charger would be only 30 euros for our entire stay due to the battery not being for a fully electric car. That is not the case. Even for a fully electric vehicle, paying 30 euros is way too pricey. Depending where your room is located you have a long walk up or down ad very long walkway that is NOT level. IT's actually on a fairly steep incline/decline. Upon checkout they sent the person to help load bags to the wrong part of the hotel two times. I will discuss the staff last. The staff here pretends to act friendly. They seem very uptight and not at all genuine. Our entire stay here we did not feel like we could relax. Be very careful! On approaching the property we wondered what we were letting ourselves into. The car park was overgrown and the place was deserted. Reception were particularly unhelpful...restaurant closed at 2pm and even though we arrived just before that time, there qA no offer of food or room service. We had prebooked a meal for 7.30pm (in January!) only to be told that they had a block booking, the restaurant did not open til 8pm and even then we would have to come along after 9pm and choose from a set menu that was for the block booking. Booked a Country Superior Dependance. The room was terrible. It was clean but it was sp**** and barren compared to the web pictures. The sofa was stained and ripped and the terrace was dressed with 2 half empty tubs...the hotel later explained due to the weather albeit no other hotel on our trip had such issues. The living room would challenge anyone's idea of comfort. We requested a room change but could only be offered a similarly uninspiring room without a balcony..but the promise that we could change the next day. On reflection we decided not to stay. Reception then tried to offer other rooms albeit they had earlier said we had seen the one available. Reception, after a prolonged call with the hotel director, insisted on a 2 night no show cancellation charge notwithstanding that we had shown up and the hotel had been unable to offer the accommodation booked as described on its website. Despite numerous exchanges since, the hotel insists on keeping its 2 days payment. Frankly they need the money to put some furniture and feeling into the room that we were offered. Just compare the pics! As I say...this is the only hotel I have ever walked away from.

En cuanto a la estructura en sí, sin duda se nota que necesitaría más mantenimiento. Nuestra habitación era pequeña y llena de muebles anticuados que hacen el ambiente aún más amargo y angustioso. La segunda noche el aire acondicionado dejó de funcionar. Nota que el servicio de restauración no estaba activo en el marco de la estructura (sin embargo, no se ha informado correctamente en la fase de reserva ) Nos gustaría señalar estos problemas a la propiedad, pero en la fase de comprobación (poder sólo después de las 9.) sólo había la señora de limpieza que agradecemos por la gentilidad y disponibilidad También agradecemos al chico de la recepción por la cortesía y disponibilidad Concluyendo, el lugar tiene gran potencial pero se debería mantener mejor.

El hotel queda en la zona baja de la ciudad, no está en la parte antigua que es la parte alta. Para subir a la parte alta hay autobuses que pasan por delante. La estación de tren, queda a unos 10 minutos andando, pero se puede ir en los autobuses o coger un taxi por unos 6 euros. Las habitaciones son bastante espaciosas, con una decoración basada en el chocolate y las plantas del cacao (como era de esperar por el nombre del alojamiento. La limpieza de las habitaciones es buena y se realiza de manera diaria. Dentro de la habitación hay nevera, que siempre se agradece, y el wifi funciona de forma correcta. El desayuno está muy enfocado en los productos dulces, especialmente que lleven chocolate. Hay opciones de salado y fruta, aunque son más limitadas que las opciones dulces. Como nos alojamos varias noches, pudimos ver cierta rotación de productos en el desayuno (aunque solo en la parte dulce). El personal de recepción es correcto y eficiente. El personal del desayuno, vamos a calificarlo, como correcto, aunque tienen que mejorar ciertos detalles. La zona no parece presentar ninguna situación alarmante, es un poco ruidosa por la carretera que está enfrente, pero las ventanas tienen buen aislamiento y no molesta tanto. No creo que tengas problemas de seguridad, al otro lado de la carretera está un cuartel enorme de la os Carabineri. En la zona hay alguna opción para comer algo y varios supermercados. Como curiosidad, en una habitación había una bici estática....quizás una invitación a quemar el chocolate de los desayunos. No gustó · Para hacer el check in, la chica de gafas de recepción, nos solicita los pasaportes (cosa normal), y nos dice que se los dejemos y en una hora o así los recojamos, darle tiempo para hacer el registro. Yo entiendo perfectamente que me pidas un documento, pero que te lo tenga que dejar un rato no me hace tanta gracia. En el desayuno, el personal que lo atendía, especialmente una señora de rubia, a los italianos (o que estaban hablando en italiano) les preguntaba que querían, y les hacían el cappuccino, café a su gusto o lo que desearan. A los no italianos, ni hola nos decía y si querías un café lo cogías de la maquina. Es un detalle muy feo, pero que he visto en otros establecimientos de Italia. Aunque sea por la barrera del idioma (entre castellano e italiano te puedes entender), tampoco hizo intención de usar otro idioma, es un gesto muy feo. Esto hace que baje su puntuación.
