Sunset Hotel

Great location for experiencing Cefalu. On the beach, short walk to town and restaurants. Pool was crowded, but the beach has a few chairs for guests or visit a local club. Nice for an early swim or a cool off in the afternoon. Rooms are relatively small and getting a bit tired, but we did not come here to sit in the room. Room with a balcony is nice. Breakfast is average.

This is a new and modern hotel located at the quiet end of the promenade. The check in was easy (done on line beforehand) and had it had parking underneath. Most importantly the room we booked - a junior suite with a small plunge pool - was perfect. A reasonably sized room with a desk and wall mounted tv. A spacious bathroom with a double shower. The breakfast is extensive and outstanding- wide variety of everything from cereal to cannoli! We will come back to Cefalù and we will definitely book this venue.

Lovely boutique hotel five minute walk to all the bars and restaurants across from the beach. Amazing pool on the roof and lovely rooms. Breakfast was typical continental pastries and coffee mainly but had eggs and ham etc too. Pool towels are available from reception and they have sun beds on the beach too Note if from Uk the plugs are three pin not two pin so get Italian plug before you travel

Having holidayed with TUI formerly Thompsons over many years this is the first time i have written a comment like this but felt compelled to do so. Having chosen this hotel based on TUI's 4 star rating and online description my family and I were extremely dissapointed. The main hotel building and public areas were as described however we were not accommodated there but in another building next door which was referred to as an 'annex' with the name plate outside 'Villa Cerniglia'. To access our room we had a flight of stairs and no lift access. The room itself was in a run down state and not clean! The shower cubicle was dirty with build up of grime around the doors, no facility to place toiletries etc, only old screws left in the wall! The toilet had discoloured build up in the pan and we didnt even have a basic plastic cup to facilitate cleaning teeth. There was only a single wardrobe for 3 adults, half hanging space and half shelves and no drawers. The safe was not secured and could be picked up and carried away therefore we did not use it and were concerned that the villa door was constantly open and no one in attendance at the 'desk area'. The universal power adapters would only fit in one socket and none available in vicinity of a mirror. The window had a side opening shutter blind which we could not use because it was stuck. The balcony area had 2 sunbeds and a old, faded plastic table which was cracked and broken and two chairs. The wooden pergola over patio area was covered in flaking paint and we ended up with a lot of paint debris on our belongings after a night time shower of rain as well as all over the floor. There was no welcome pack/information folder/do not disturb signs or telephone to contact reception. We were supposed to have a garden view room however this was not the case. Most of the staff were friendly but not all! The pool area did not open until 9am which was late for a holiday destination and we were reprimanded one day for trying to go up at 08.45. Our visit was predominantly booked due to a wedding invitation which took us away from the hotel for 2 days, if this had not have been the case we would have complained at the time. I do not know how this could be classed as 4 star!!!! 

Disappointed. We booked directly on hotel website sea view room and discovered 24 before arriving price on affliated websites for same room had dropped by 100 euro , appreciate hotels do this to fill empty room. Notified hotel and when arrived was promised would be looked after , nothing had to complain that beach club was closed due to weather but no space at pool. When went to swim was told it was closed , although lots of young italians drinking & smoking by pool at same time. Staff at breakfast were helpful but it was chaotic and not a 4 star hotel. We left at 2.00pm next day and receptionist asked us for key and told us we would be charged for beach chairs. There was no offer of courtsey area to change and shower. Salvadore spoke to me in a rude manner and gave me 30 euro off bill only when I reminded him. He offered a upgrade after we had checked in and later in the evening. Our room only faced sea at side and this needs to be stated . For me this was not a four star hotel and for 380 euro per night was on trip to Sicily and last night most disappointing. We looked at other hotels on same ***** in front of beach and were better value. So disappointed.

We’ve recently returned from a glorious visit to Cefalu and stayed at this wonderful location. The staff went out of their way to look after us when we arrived and their service was excellent . The pool is outstanding with panoramic views across the bay. The sunset pool bar was a welcome addition towards the end of our stay and the gin and tonics were amazing! Counting the days until we can return! 😊

Wow, was so happy to find this property. You know that feeling when you find something on your own and it really lives up to what you see online. This property is clean, modern, stylish and wonderfully accommodating. This is exactly the property that I look for when traveling; one that is well appointed and genuinely cares about hospitality and the needs of their guests. The location is directly across from the beach with private chairs and towels. The rooftop infinity pool with sunset and historic town views is perfect if you want some easy time in the sun or to cool off. We had an enjoyable breakfast in the morning and cocktails on the roof at sunset. It is an easy walk along the sea wall to the historic town center for dinner and evening people watching. And little did we know this beach is where many scenes for "White Lotus" were filmed.

Hotel is in the perfect location. Right near the sea with a short walk into town. Views from the rooftop pool/bar are breathtaking. Staff are lovely and a special mention to Marco, who played for us most nights. All we could ask for. Did not get a chance to say goodbye as we checked out early, so to all of the staff at The Sunset a huge Grazie and Ciao. Alan, Terri and Tori.

The team could NOT have been more helpful or kind. We loved our stay so much that we added an extra night. Impeccable design and location right on the beach, just off the most touristy areas. Gorgeous rooftop pool. Incredible dining. Hope to make it to cefalu, and the Sunset Hotel, again. SO lovely.
