Today was Ellen’s last day as manager of the Fox and Hounds. Since the pub reopened some 18 months ago, her welcoming smile and total dedication has transformed the place. It is a real village pub, with a loyal group of regulars who enjoy the place as it is. We can only hope that no one will try to “modernise” it or - even worse - turn it into a “gastro pub”. Ellen, we will all miss you - and thank you for keeping the pub as it should be - a proper PUB.

Customer service was great, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely location. We had roast beef and roast chicken. Vegetable and the roast cooked perfectly. I had sticky toffee pudding which was perfect and my oartner had rhubarb and custard tart ( with the custard inside!). We'll definitely be making a return visit.

Wow, nice cosy feel great pint better food lovely location bit out of the way but worth it. Popped over cattistock with few friends because heard the place had new owners wasn't disappointed had a great laugh few pints and very good food. Elegant food and a friendly atmosphere is the best way to describe it.
