Santa Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable. A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled. Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe. In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative. It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice. Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

The room is quite small and there isn't much space for suitcase or two people to sit and eat a meal but the bathroom is very very nice and the bed is quite comfortable. Staff is there 24/7 to help you and the location is perfect to the shopping centre and local restaurants! Really recommend!

I had an excellent experience at the hotel. It was very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Great choice at breakfast. Excellent location near the sea, shops, restaurants and buses. I intend to return.

Este es un hotel perfecto sin puntos como el nuevo personal de construcción muy amable ayuda en cualquier manera cómodo cama grande TV agua en mini desayuno disponible si se desean costes adicionales sería deffa recomendado ya que algunos de los edificios alrededor de la zona están listos para caer 2 min a la playa 5 min a las tiendas buena ubicación

Superbe hôtel et surtout bien situé avec les transports juste à côté et la plage vraiment pas loin. Quartier agréable.

Hotel correcto. Buen desayuno habitaciones grandes, modernas y limpias. Sin piscina pero con la playa en frente (aunque hay una autopista de por medio). En algunas habitaciones se puede escuchar algo de ruido de la autopista.

La verdad que todo super bien,nos quedamos encantados con todo el personal sobre todo con Natalia, un amor desde el minuto 1 explicándome detalladamente todo con una sonrisa,la piscina super cool para fotitos sobre todo,como dije amenazó con volver pronto!

Me dieron una habitación al lado de la recepción, imposible descansar.Tuve que salir tres veces a decirle al encargado (de seguridad) que bajase el volumen.No pude dormir hasta que se fue(3pm).Al día siguiente me cambiaron de habitación,aún así la insonorizado del hotel deja mucho que desear.No volvería.

El hotel es increíble 😍, a 1 minuto a pie de la playa ⛱️, el personal limpia todos los días. Todo a poca distancia. Definitivamente reservaré de nuevo.

Habitación muy limpia y cómoda con todo lo necesario y con opción de música directamente desde el móvil a los altavoces de la habitación, luces personalizables en Led, nos ha parecido muy completo para la zona y el precio genial
