Santa Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable. A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled. Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe. In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative. It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice. Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

Siendo sincero, la ubicación del hotel es perfecta. Puedes alojarte en el casco antiguo de Palma y, si tienes coche, puedes disfrutar e ir a cualquier parte, lo que te permitirá ver tanto el casco antiguo como las playas (sur de la isla). En cuanto al hotel, por supuesto, es de 3 estrellas y superó nuestras expectativas. El desayuno no es muy abundante, pero si quieres empezar el día con algo más que café y cruasanes, está bien. La limpieza y las comodidades son buenas para un hotel de 3 estrellas. Muchas gracias también a la chica del turno de noche: fue muy amable y servicial.

The hotel is lovely all around but there was no functioning AC. There is a display where you can push buttons but neither the fan controls nor the AC controls do anything. After hours of leaving it on a low temp it was still 24.5 degrees. This trumps the fantastic rooftop views and the cozy decor because it means you can't sleep. I only stayed one night but unless they could guarantee that the AC is not just for show I would not return

The room is quite small and there isn't much space for suitcase or two people to sit and eat a meal but the bathroom is very very nice and the bed is quite comfortable. Staff is there 24/7 to help you and the location is perfect to the shopping centre and local restaurants! Really recommend!

I had an excellent experience at the hotel. It was very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Great choice at breakfast. Excellent location near the sea, shops, restaurants and buses. I intend to return.

Superbe hôtel et surtout bien situé avec les transports juste à côté et la plage vraiment pas loin. Quartier agréable.

Hotel económico, económico y alegre. Las almohadas son un poco extrañas. Sábanas delgadas (buenas para el clima cálido). Las camas no son las más cómodas pero tampoco las peores. No hay aire acondicionado, solo un ventilador que está un poco cansado. Y la vista desde la ventana esmerilada es un poco deprimente. La televisión es solo televisión española. El personal es muy amable y la mayoría habla bien inglés. Bueno para una estadía corta, pero no lo recomendaría por más de unas pocas noches. No probé el desayuno (a un precio razonable) y el bar solo está abierto para eso. Sin embargo, hay otros bares cercanos abiertos hasta la madrugada. Zona bastante segura pero no la más bonita. A 1 minuto a pie de la playa y de muchos restaurantes. No se produce agua en las habitaciones ni en las neveras.

El personal de recepción nos atendió muy bien; nos permitieron hacer el check-in temprano y dejar nuestras maletas después del check-out. La habitación estaba en la planta 14. Las habitaciones son un poco anticuadas, pero no están mal para una estancia corta. Les vendrían bien puertas y ventanas insonorizadas. La zona de la piscina está en la última planta del hotel, solo se accede por escaleras. Ofrece una magnífica vista panorámica de la ciudad. La ubicación es excelente, a pocos minutos de la playa, la zona portuaria, el centro comercial y el centro de transporte.

Un trato muy agradable y atento. La ubicación es excelente (muy céntrico) pero el entorno no es del todo agradable. El tema aparcamiento también es un tanto complicado pero es lógico siendo tan céntrico. La habitación en sí estaba muy bonita pero la terraza no le dimos mucha utilidad como ya he comentado por el entorno.

Experiencia increíble. Amigo personal. camas cómodas. baño espacial y limpio. terraza muy agradable. Todo lo que sugiero es añadir más sockets en la habitación o añadir un cable de extensión. También añadir una puerta de ducha significaría mucho menos agua en el suelo después de cada ducha.
