Santa Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable. A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled. Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe. In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative. It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice. Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

The room is quite small and there isn't much space for suitcase or two people to sit and eat a meal but the bathroom is very very nice and the bed is quite comfortable. Staff is there 24/7 to help you and the location is perfect to the shopping centre and local restaurants! Really recommend!

I had an excellent experience at the hotel. It was very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Great choice at breakfast. Excellent location near the sea, shops, restaurants and buses. I intend to return.

Unas instalaciones muy buenas. Ubicacion magnifica pegadisima a playa canteras y sin duda lo mejor, la atencion del personal del hotel. Desde la recepcion, el personal de mantenimiento que nos monto la cuna sobre la marcha o el personal de limpieza. Todo genial. Sin duda regresaremos en cuanto podamos

El hotel está bien ubicado y su personal es amable. Sin embargo, el desayuno se sirve en otro NH que se encuentra a 200 metros. En ningún momento se me avisó de esta circunstancia antes de la reserva. Las instalaciones están muy viejas, un hecho que se nota especialmente en el baño. La habitación no tenía luz natural y contaba con dos camas individuales realmente pequeñas.

El personal de recepción nos atendió muy bien; nos permitieron hacer el check-in temprano y dejar nuestras maletas después del check-out. La habitación estaba en la planta 14. Las habitaciones son un poco anticuadas, pero no están mal para una estancia corta. Les vendrían bien puertas y ventanas insonorizadas. La zona de la piscina está en la última planta del hotel, solo se accede por escaleras. Ofrece una magnífica vista panorámica de la ciudad. La ubicación es excelente, a pocos minutos de la playa, la zona portuaria, el centro comercial y el centro de transporte.

Buen hotel, grande. Habitación clásica con cama grande. El hotel está bien ubicado entre el centro histórico y la península, lo que facilita moverse entre ambos. Los autobuses son fácilmente accesibles. Una pena que la autopista pase entre el hotel y el mar. La piscina en la azotea es un punto a favor, aunque no pudimos disfrutarla por el viento.

El personal en general ha sido súper amable sobre todo la gente que trabaja en recepción,es especial una chica que ha trabajado éstos días y que me recibió el 21 de marzo a mi llegada con una sonrisa y una manera de trabajar en cuanto a su actitud y a sus explicaciones muy buena(ya podría haber gente así en todos lados).Las instalaciones muy limpias y cómodas.Sin duda lo recomendaré a mi entorno y lo más seguro es que vuelva en mis futuros viajes a gran canaria.Enhorabuena equipo RK Farallón Canteras por los profesionales que tienen trabajando para ustedes,sin duda hacen que el nombre mejore aún más.

Experiencia increíble. Amigo personal. camas cómodas. baño espacial y limpio. terraza muy agradable. Todo lo que sugiero es añadir más sockets en la habitación o añadir un cable de extensión. También añadir una puerta de ducha significaría mucho menos agua en el suelo después de cada ducha.
