The moment you arrive at the hotel, you feel right at home. It's a small boutique hotel with a European flair. Imagine staying at grandma's house, where everything is taken care of and all you have to do is sit back, relax, and soak up the cozy atmosphere. We stayed on the second floor, and I'd like to point out that this hotel does not have an elevator. This hotel has a recreation room, a small restaurant attached to the main house, an outdoor seating area for breakfast, a small bar, and a gift shop. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We had an excellent stay. The location of the hotel is also important to consider. It is a short walk from downtown Victoria, where the main shopping street is located.

La habitación y el baño estaban muy limpios, todo estaba cómodo. No hemos tenido la oportunidad de usar la piscina esta vez porque estabamos cortos en el tiempo, así que definitivamente volveremos a disfrutar de las instalaciones en nuestra próxima visita!

I am writing to formally express my very serious dissatisfaction regarding the condition of my room and the overall standard of service during my stay. To be completely honest, the situation is far below what any reasonable guest would expect from a hotel of this category and price level. There is clearly long-term dust accumulation on the exhaust fan and in multiple corners of the room. This is not a matter of minor housekeeping oversight for a day or two it reflects a prolonged lack of proper maintenance and cleaning standards. Such conditions are unacceptable for a property that presents itself as a luxury establishment. Even more concerning is the foul, rotten odor coming from the sink water. Every time I brush my teeth or wash my hands, the unpleasant smell is immediately noticeable and deeply disturbing. This raises not only comfort issues, but also serious concerns about hygiene and water safety. At this level of accommodation, guests should never have to question the basic quality of the water provided in their room. I strongly believe this matter requires immediate professional inspection. I chose to stay at your hotel and willingly paid a premium rate because I expected a premium experience including cleanliness, attention to detail, and reliable service. Unfortunately, what I have encountered so far reflects a significant gap between the price charged and the quality delivered. In addition, despite leaving a tip for housekeeping and placing a written note clearly requesting replenishment, my shampoo was not refilled. I was eventually forced to go into the corridor to find another staff member for assistance. Cotton swabs were also not replenished for three consecutive days. These are very basic service expectations that should not require repeated reminders from guests. Taken together, these issues have had a substantial negative impact on my stay and overall impression of the hotel. I find this situation extremely disappointing and frankly inconsistent with the reputation and standards your brand claims to uphold. I would appreciate it if management could review this matter seriously and provide a clear and appropriate resolution.

5-Star Review for Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel, Victoria, BC My stay at the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel in downtown Victoria was nothing short of exceptional, especially thanks to the front desk team's kindness in upgrading me to a suite. The suite was fantastic—extremely spacious at around 400-600 sq ft, with a full kitchen including fridge, stove, microwave, and dining area, plus a cozy sitting space and pull-out sofa that made it feel like home. Cleanliness stood out, with spotless rooms, fresh linens, and well-maintained facilities throughout this heritage property renovated in 2019. The location is unbeatable, steps from Government Street, Fan Tan Alley, and the Inner Harbour, perfect for exploring Victoria's attractions on foot. Service was top-notch: friendly, accommodating staff handled everything efficiently, from check-in to daily check-ins, echoing countless glowing guest reviews. Amenities like free WiFi, fitness center, air conditioning, and 24-hour front desk added to the comfort. I can't recommend this hotel enough—it's a gem for any Victoria visit!

Accommodations and the location were great! I enjoyed the room. Robe would have been nice. They had some important essentials. Iron an ironing board. Hairdryer shampoo conditioner and body wash and lotion. I would stay here again. I was on the 14th floor and the views were amazing.

El lugar cerca del aeropuerto y el puerto es conveniente para el día siguiente. Todo el hotel tiene un ascensor. Es muy difícil esperar que haya una posición para salir de la mañana en el pico, especialmente con el equipaje para salir por las escaleras. El entorno general es bueno, es el problema de los electrodomésticos

The receptionist is very welcoming. Though the building is quite old, the room looks newly renovated. I love how the bed and the linen feels so fresh and clean. The location is great, being walking distance to everything. There’s available parking which is well lit and safe.  Breakfast area  is clean and lots of choices available. Will definitely come back and will recommend to friends and family.

La experiencia fenomenal en este hotel sorprendente. Todo el personal era tan dulce y sorprendente. El escritorio frontal indio nos consoló a media noche a las 4:00 cuando pensamos que el hotel era ******* (no era sólo nosotros). El hotel ofrece ursos de goma gratis en el lobby, y cuando pedimos más, nos dieron un saco completo!!! (1 kg, vendiendo por 13 dólares en Amazon) Los gomas son también de buena calidad que se funden en mi boca cuando los pones. El hotel está muy bien, pero no es muy agradable. El personal también nos ayudó a asustar un fantasma, dormimos como un bebé la segunda noche después de bañarse en el tubo. no ac fue un buen buen chico. 🤞🤞😩😩

This was a nightmarish trip, 1st I had asked for a room on the highest floor possible, with a view of the Harbour, I am a photographer and made the trip to Victoria to get some great photos of the inner Harbour. I got a room on tenth floor overlooking the parking lot and side street. The windows were so dirty it was hard to see anything, in my eyes I was ripped off, I am not going to to stay at any Merriott hotels, at the time of my booking it said they had a buffet breakfast and when I arrived they told me there is no buffet breakfast just a restaurant on site, parking was said to be free self parking. I was charged $29.40 / night to self park my truck.
