We were thoroughly looking forward to our first holiday in Shetland, and we were not disappointed. We had booked into the Drumquin Guest House at Brae a former Victorian Schoolhouse roughly 25 minutes drive from Lerwick and it was an excellent choice. We received a warm welcome from Leslie one of the owners and he took the time to explain the service they provide and showed us to our room. Our room was very comfortable, excellent shower so powerful , nice selection tea, coffee, biscuits, hairdryer, tv, toiletries and Wi-Fi, Iron and Ironing board available if required. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before which suited us perfectly and their was a lovely choice, something for everyone, be warned the traditional breakfast is excellent but huge so not for the faint hearted. The evening menu was first class , serving a superb selection of dishes and I can thoroughly recommend the Sticky Toffee pudding, being a Licensed establishment you can choose from a wide selection of Alcoholic beverages. Robert and Leslie took the time and effort to get to know their clients and provided useful information about the island and places of interest to visit. We had such a lovely time at Drumquin, and would have no hesitation in recommending staying here, your hosts, the food and location all make for a fabulous vacation.
