Nestled into the earth in the Rocky Mountain foothills above Boulder, Colorado, The Chaled (Chalet + Shed) is a sunny, relaxing hideaway. It’s located on expansive land bordering the National Forest with abundant wildlife, yet just 12 minutes to downtown Boulder and 17 minutes to the ski town of Nederland. It has high-speed internet, off-street parking, mature fruiting apple and apricot trees, a small lawn and garden, and a stone patio and outdoor dining area.You'll have the 350 square foot cabin and its private yard to yourself. It's situated on a quiet, paved road with little traffic and is part of a larger property with a single family home in full-time residence with two kids. (The main house and one neighboring house are approximately 100 yards away.) A south-facing window seat is always the favorite spot to read or watch wildlife, and the open floor plan includes comfortable chairs, a dining table with chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom is quiet and cozy and has ample storage space. The bathroom includes tub and shower. The outdoor dining table with umbrella, grill, and outdoor seating overlook the property and are delightful for outdoor meals and entertaining.Guest accessThe cabin is easily accessible from Boulder via paved roads. One parking space is provided in front of it. AWD or 4WD is not necessary most of the year, but in the winter, if snow comes down, it is recommended to get up and down the mountain roads safely.Other things to note:The cabin has high-speed internet and cell service, depending on your carrier (AT&T seems to work best up here.) The WiFi is fast, and to use your cell phone for phone calls/texts, simply turn on “Wi-Fi calling”. Please note that there is no AC or TV. Beautiful 3 Bedroom 2 bath house buried in the pine trees on 4 acres near Wild Basin and Estes Park. Wild Basin (Rocky Mountain National Park) entry road just 200 yards down highway 7 from Tahosa Park South Rd. This is a recreation enthusiast's dream without being too close to the city. Close to fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, and guided horseback tours just a mile down the road at Meeker Park Lodge. The master suite includes full bath, walk in closet and private deck with views of a spectacular ridge. The lower level Queen room has access to lower bath and boast great views from the french doors to the exterior. The dual full sized bedroom has it's own private desk for those who may have to work from home. The home has a huge deck with built in dinning table, pellet grill and adirondack chairs to lounge. The basement living area includes 60" TV on Apple TV. The couch is a Queen pull out. There is a wood insert upstairs for entertainment and heat. The basement includes full laundry machines. The DVD collection is around 200 movies strong. There are two desk areas flanking each side of the stone fireplace with wood burning insert for asthetics and heat. Great cabin to work remotely and still get an afternoon hike up to Copeland Falls. There is abundant wildlife in the area including Elk, Deer, Moose and Turkey. This is also a great area to possibly see Black Bear. The drive to Estes Park is 15 minutes with stops along the way like Meeker Park lodge, Eagleplume Ute Indian shop, Longs Peak entrance,Saint Malo's Chapel on the Rock, Lilly Lake and the Twin Sister. In Estes Park you will find an up to date Safeway, Plenty of restaurants, Spas, and guide shops like Kirk's Flyshop (one of our favorites for many types of guided tours). Allenspark and Ferncliff are just a couple miles to the South and have three restaurants and small grocery/gas/liquor store. Allenspark also has an art gallery, a souvenir shop and the closest post office. A 10 minute walk to downtown pearl st, as well as the Mt Sanitas trailhead puts you in an ideal location to experience some of the best that Boulder has to offer. You have your own private entrance in the back of our house accessed by a brick path, and the apartment is locked off from the upstairs of our house and is totally private, non-lived in space. So we’ve provided several individual space heaters for night time use and cloudy days.The lodge is located at 8,300 feet above sea level and altitude sickness is a possibility at this elevation.We are in bear country! Please do not leave food in your vehicles overnight and be sure to lock car doors; our bears have learned how to open them :)The WiFi is reliable high speed DSL.The lodge is supplied with a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen so the water is absolutely fine to drink, no bottled water needed!We are on a septic system and we ask that guests please NOT put anything other than the toilet paper provided into the toilet. We provide flip top lidded trash receptacles in the bathrooms to place sanitary products, wet wipes etc.Due to bears, we do not have outside trash storage, so if you fill a bag please place it in the extra trash bins in pantry/laundry room.We recycle!
