Bit of a mixed-bag this one. I stayed in the twin room for 2 nights. The room oddly looks as though it’s been lifted and deposited direct from a Premier Inn (but smaller). It’s dark due to the use of dark purple and dark wood on almost everything. The bathroom is fresh and contemporary though. There’s a generous selection of teas and coffee plus biscuits. One of the reasons I chose the Fountains tearoom and B&B was because of the tearoom downstairs. I arrived, after a long tiring journey, at 3.30pm thinking I was just in time to grab a snack in the tearoom, however Iike a lot of visitors if you read the comments dating back years, I was told by a very offhand older member of staff the kitchen was closed. It closes at 3pm, so all the info and literature stating that tearoom hours are 9am to 4pm are misleading to say the least. (The owner later stated that ‘our staff have families to go home to’). When I asked I was also told that breakfast was from 9am, even though this staff member was now fully aware I was a guest, and I mentioned I needed to be somewhere by 10am the next morning. So the next morningI hung around to 9am and dashed down to breakfast to find other guests already eating breakfast, a (different) member of staff said guests were served from 8.30am! I complained by text to the owner who responded very quickly saying she’d look into it. The owner could not be faulted for responding to queries/complaints - the evening before I’d rung her asking how the heating worked as it was cold and she came out straight away to check the thermostat in the hall. The breakfast was prompt, hot and very tasty. Other negative points: The mattress had springs starting to poke up, the pillows were thin and lumpy (they’re cheap enough to buy for goodness’ sake). The thinnish duvet (no sheets apart from the fitted one on the mattress) only just covered the bed, so wouldn’t be great for larger visitors. I personally will not be staying again.

La habitación era muy confortable y limpia, mucho mejor que esperaba después de leer algunas críticas terribles. En el parque real que encontramos se adapta a todas las edades, sí, algunos bits se citan, pero hay mucho que hacer para niños de 1-14. Needed convenient stopping point from Surrey to Chestefield, one night, for a funeral. Location ideal. Despite proximity to M1 itself, road noise was not excessive. Receptionist was really welcoming; gave me a choccie bar and bottle of water. You can stroll to the services for Mcdonald's or Costa - and WH Smith etc, (if open). . The overall decor is a bit 'tired' but everything was clean, bed fresh, coffee/tea facilities. Would have preferred the radio to be fitted by the bedside not table across the room (!). Freeview TV quite adequate for one night........ Bedroom was huge (guess it would double up as a family room at times) - and possibly I could have taken my dog with me, in which case the extra space was great. For functionality cannot fault.

Hemos tenido algunas épocas maravillosas en este lugar, pero recientemente, las historias locales y en los medios de comunicación no son grandes. No obstante, decidimos visitar este lugar, ya que habíamos recibido algunos bonos a través de nuestra puerta (samos muy locales) y pensamos que sólo deberíamos intentar de nuevo. A las 7:00 p.m., ordenamos nuestras manos, la mía era una salada con queso halourmi añadido y alas de búfalo de cauliflor. Después de un poco de tiempo la ama de vuelta para decirme que no tenían salada. Cuando nuestras comidas vinieron todas parecían estar bien hasta que la ama de la cama convirtió a la mesa algunas alas de búfalo, le dije que eran parte de la comida de salada como su adición, así que no queríamos que se los añadieran. La ama no le gustaba así que mi marido dijo que los tendría como sólo un librazo o algo así. Un poco más tarde, los dos que tenían puddings preguntaron si podían ordenar café, y yo pregunté si podían apresurarme también mi té, ya que no lo había recibido todavía. La ama de la casa de vacaciones dijo sí, no hay problema, el tiempo fue ahora 8.50 En pocos minutos una mujer que estaba correndo el bar, gritó, no hago más bebidas calientes! La ama de la casa se ha vuelto a ofrecernos café instantáneo, que nos rechazamos mientras vivimos en la carretera y podemos hacerlo en casa. Ella trajo la factura a nuestra mesa con el té aún en ella y las alas de búfalo a £5.75!!! Le expliqué que esto era mal precio, a quien ella respondió que se le había cargado como un principiante. Le pedí que me mostrara dónde estaban como principiante, no podía, ya que no estaban listados como principiante, me dije dónde estaba el precio y ella tuvo todo Mardy diciendo: ¡Ok, ok voy a sacarlos!! No me equivoque, no pedí que los quitaran, sólo quería el precio correcto. La habitación está muy bien, pero no hay nada que puedas hacer.

El hotel me gustaba. La decoración era deliciosa, el personal era muy amable. Las habitaciones eran agradables y limpias. Tenían algunas bebidas y snacks en su bar y los cocktails eran muy agradables. El personal era atento y amable. El restaurante también tenía un buen menú de cena, el desayuno se hizo ocupado y creo que el personal estaba luchando por mantenerse en paz porque tuve que esperar un rato antes de que se almacenaran los vasos para obtener jugo y la leche se llenó de mi té. La única manera de atrapar la habitación era la falta de sockets eléctricos cerca de las mesas de la cama para abarcar los teléfonos.
